Nice hotel conveniently situated close to the town. Good food and helpful staff.

Convenient location. Helpful staff. Good food (breakfast only was taken), dining room clean and spacious with good choice of breakfast.

First morning was woken early (07.15) with loud Christmas carol music from the bar area, directly below our room. Although the sound in the bar itself wasn't loud, due to the speakers location, it sounded very loud in our room. However, this was mentioned to a staff member at breakfast that morning, thereafter, no early morning music was played again, so thank you. Room was 'tired'. No facilities for hanging long clothing items, dress, coat etc. Wardrobe only for short items, shirts / skirt etc and no hooks on doors (could see where they had been). At breakfast on one occasion, there was a staff argument / disagreement in the kitchen / reception area, clearly overheard and involved a lot of swearing. Whatever the reason, this should not have been overheard in the public dining room by guests.

Hotel was comfortable but outdated breakfast was good

Staff called chasing money as it was booked through booking.com but was extremely rude and aggressive until the owner came on phone and apologised for her staffs behaviour,this hotel was booked for business and will will not be returning any time soon unfortunately

Covered our needs would stay again

Breakfast was delicious , lovely bathroom, nice touch with milk & water available in fridge on the landing

Could be a little cleaner , net curtain in bedroom very dirty

great stay, would recommend.

The new owners were very nice and friendly and the service was great, fabulous breakfast. Loved the updated bathroom suite and the little milk bottles that were readily available for tea and coffee, lovely touch.

Bedroom decor and furniture was outdated, hopefully they plan to update the bedroom as nice as the bathroom.

We felt it was a shame about the room as otherwise the hotel friendliness was excellent

The breakfast was excellent and the dinners were okay. The staff were friendly

We did not expect a bedroom where the window was high up, we were not able to see out of. One bedside light which was quite poor meant that we had to leave the overhead light on to read, just not very welcoming. The bathroom down two steps was not very special and very tired. We were near the kitchen so could hear motors running intermittently - possible extractor fans.

Very comfortable bed and two good night's sleep. Well equiped room and everything worked well. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Food excellent.

Perfect place for our stay with friendly staff and good price!

Great looking property with spacious accommodation. Lovely bar and a nice outside seating area. Really good size car park.

A nice relaxing stay in a lovely location

The staff were all very welcoming and friendly.The room itself was very clean and tidy with some nice touches .I’m quite a light sleeper but the bed was so comfortable I slept like a log.Luckily I set the alarm or we would’ve missed the lovely breakfast which was very tasty and plentiful.The shower was nice and hot.There was plenty of parking as well.I would definitely recommend the Dolphin Inn and would stay here again without question

Have stayed here on previous visit but not in this room, bit overpriced. Will return as nice place.

Maintenance needed with broken toilet. As a single person seemed to get over looked in the restaurant. Management reduced the food bill to rectify.

Fantastic Family Run Hotel

The hotel has recently been refurbished by the new owners and it looks fantastic. The hotel is family run, and they are all pleasant, and very attentive to all the guests. The food is very good with quality ingredients used, especially the eggs at breakfast!

I had an good overnight stay at this location. It gives good access to Dartmoor National Park.

location and the hotel which was clean and comfortable. Also served up a good breakfast.

I arrived late on a Sunday afternoon and informed I would not be able to get dinner and the bar would be closing in about an hour. Not what I wanted to hear.

Lovely stay

The friendliness of the staff and owner. Ideal location to explore the Moors or even the coast. Plenty of parking and the room was lovely. Food was very good, but a little too much.

No fresh fruit or yogurt for breakfast, if you didn't fancy a cooked breakfast. Cereals were provided, but as I am gluten intolerant, they were no good for me.

Great location. Lovely breakfast and bar food. Friendly staff.

The room was at the front of the hotel and did not have double glazing so traffic noise was a nuisance.
