About this cabin rental
"Bear's-Eye View"
Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, at just over 3,000 feet elevation, you will find our private 3br/2.5ba cabin, with year-round long range mountain views.
There are no neighbors in sight from the cabin, yet you are only a few minutes away from convenient grocery locations -- Walmart (3.7mi) and Ingles (4.7mi). The quaint downtown of Spruce Pine is 5 miles away, and we are just 10 minutes off the Blue Ridge Parkway (milepost 331).
Our cabin offers a great “home base” for day trips to experience all that Western NC has to offer. Spruce Pine is located right between Asheville and Boone. There are so many possibilities for hiking, sightseeing, skiing, and river tubing, just to name a few.
Enjoy our new Starlink High speed internet for work from home and streaming capabilities!
The secluded nature of the property offers a great opportunity to get away and enjoy nature. Take a short walk to a waterfall, which is visible once you enter the private gate.
Watch the sunrise over the mountains from every eastern facing window of the house, or while relaxing on our expansive top deck.
Our 7 person hot tub offers an excellent vantage point of the Mountain View, which extends all the way to Table Rock and Hawksbill Mountain, located in the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area.

Had a great weekend with family staying in this remote cabin. Wonderful views and close to Little Switzerland, Crabtree Falls and hiking at Mount Mitchell. Would recommend for a private and relaxing vacation spot!

We loved our stay here! Everything was clean and comfortable and the views were spectacular. We really enjoyed the hot tub, the fire pit, and the privacy. The road to and from was bumpy, and we never tried it after dark, but we did get used to it when going out and about. We would definitely stay here again!

This cabin was great! Five of us rented it for some motorcycling around the area. The hosts let us use the garage for parking the bikes which made it that much better. The view was amazing, we used the grill and had dinner out on the deck one evening which was very relaxing after riding our motorcycles all day. The place is very large, lots of room for everyone to hang out together without being crowded. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. and there were some condiments in the fridge and a nice assortment of K-Cups. The bedrooms were very nice, I stayed in the master bedroom and the mattress and bedding were very comfortable. There were clear directions on how to use everything and we had no issues.
The Hosts gave clear instructions on how to get up to the cabin and we had no problem, but you must pay attention. The drive up to the cabin is steep in some places and mostly gravel, I would recommend four-wheel drive SUV or truck.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin, and the area is so beautiful. Thanks for a great time!

This is one of the better VRBOs we have stayed in. Allowed for relaxation in between hiking to Crabtree Falls and zip lining at Navitat. We enjoyed the view from the deck, looking for birds (Scarlet Tanager was amazing), the hot tub, and the relaxing couches and overall atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again.

This place is amazing. The views from the deck are breathtaking. Not too far from town where you can get everything you need for your stay. Communication with the owner was easy. We hope to be back in the future.

This property is a wonderful remote , private home. It’s spacious and nicely appointed. It’s a new VRBO.
Would have been better if the septic system was working properly. The odor was very present and at times limited one’s desire to stay on the outdoor fire pit deck / hot tub area.
This needs to be addressed ! And conveyed clearly to those renting in the coming weeks.
The owner supplied a couple of dozen bottled water as the well water is not always suited for drinking. I’m ok with that having been on well water for years. Others on public water may be surprised, thus should be stated.
A number of lights need to be checked out as lights in master bedroom were not working. It takes a while to figure out which switches work what. But wonderful views. Also suggest some instructions on how to operate gas fireplaces. I believe this is a new Vrbo and thus a learning curve I guess for the owners. But it’s otherwise it’s few kinks a great location and home.

The pictures don't do the view justice. We booked to late for fall colors but weren't disappointed because every morning sunrise was unique and inspiring.
Booking was easy, communication was exceptional, access was seamless and the property was spotless.
As retirees we travel often and sometimes properties fall short expectations built on pictures and descriptions, not this property it exceeded expectations on every level.

We enjoyed our stay in the mountains. Cabin was well stocked, comfortable and had nice features like foosball and a hot tub. My only recommendations would be some window coverings in the entertainment room due to the bright street light outside and some floor lamps since the track lighting can be a little harsh at night. That would really kick up the coziness.

This home was beautiful, very spacious and the views were incredible! The online photos don't do it justice. We had a great time and loved how private it was.

Plus: Very remote location and very quiet. Directions were excellent. Appliances were fine. Bed(s) were comfy. Views were outstanding. Security good with a driveway gate (no lock, just a chain) and bright security lights.
Minus: Due to the remote location, wi-fi was practically nonexistant and very spotty, especially for the satellite tv. Whatever we were watching kept reloading, so we just turned it off. Well water at the site (to be expected, due to the remote location), and the pressure was fine. We brought bottled water to drink. We did not use the hottub because of the chemical smells (not chlorine). We killed a lot of bugs and heard things in the walls that sounded like some sort of small animal. We notified the owner of these issues, and received a quick reply stating that "prior to booking your cabin, you would have throughly read and understood our very descriptive listing. I will include exact screenshots from the listing warning of these issues." Those disclaimers referred to "pests" and said there might be bugs or field mice, etc. The second screenshot said that streaming can be difficult/impossible at times and that the communications were spotty, and we should have loaded items on our iPhones to replay if we wanted entertainment.
It IS remote and off the beaten path, and that is one of the charms. So, read closely.

Bird's-Eye View had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. The cabin is very private, yet there is a lot to do nearby. The views are amazing from the decks and every window. Hope to come back and stay longer next time.

I chose this house based on the pictures and description. I was not disappointed! The large picture windows allow you to see the mountains from inside the house. The views are amazing. The kitchen was well stocked. The hot tub felt great after a day of hiking. The beds were very comfortable. Loved being near the Blue Ridge Parkway.
