This beautiful home is in the perfect location to all of the attractions in the Black Hills. Our great grandchildren were amazed to catch plenty of peeks at the local wildlife. As older adults this was such a relaxing and lovely location. A grocery store was near by as well as some very good restaurants. The home had all of our needs for cooking. The kids loved playing with the toys. The Host was very attentive to questions and kept in contact. Our trip was well enjoyed :)

We had a great time over our 5 day stay. The 5 bedrooms was great for us as all the adults and kids had their own rooms. Beds were comfy and on the soft side so if you prefer a firm bed just a warning, but we enjoyed them.
We had deer around every morning and throughout the day. Even had a group of turkeys wander through one afternoon.
Had a nice Weber grill for cooking and the wrap around deck is wonderful.

We enjoyed our Vrbo and it was a beautiful house. We were always greated by a mom and 2 baby deer in the mornings and evenings on the property. It was a great location, it was still close to town but secluded. Also very centrally located to all the places we visited!

7 friends traveling together and we had a wonderful stay at Needles Nest. Plenty of room for everyone. The location was convenient to all the fun activities close to Custer. The nearby Big Rock Trail was a pleasant surprise with an overlook of Custer. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you Candace for a great stay.

We had a wonderful time staying in what truly can be described as a nest, you’re nestled in and surrounded by nature, rocks, trees, etc. Your close to town, but you don’t feel like it. We enjoyed the yard the house and the surroundings.

Great property. The only issue we had was if you have women trying to get ready, downstairs bath does not have any plugs near the sink for hair drying, curling irons etc. I know that’s picky but it is a great thing to know if you are women!!🤗

Great property, great location, had everything we needed. Took our adult children for a vacay and they got to see the Needles mountains, Mt. Rushmore, the Badlands, the Buffalo roundup, got to go 4 wheeling and we all had a great time. The property didnt dissapoint, plenty of room and nice and comfy

The place had enough space for all 12 of us and worked great for kids and adults. Everything we needed was supplied. Candace was extremely responsive. Great views, private, but within minutes of Custer. Would definitely recommend.

We came here for my 40th birthday and it was perfect! Cute cabin with wilderness feel yet close to town- we had a campfire one night and it was amazing to star gaze.very nice that the lower level is another living space since we had a bigger group. Coffee on the wrap around deck watching a deer and her fawn was definitely a highlight!

Remote setting was great for getting away, yet conveniently close to town.

We loved our stay at Needles Nest! It was perfect for our 2 families, one on each level of the home. We never felt cramped! The house is right in the town of Custer, but feels like miles out of town. We had deer in the yard every day and the kids loved tossing carrots out for them to munch on! Super close to Custer State park, Sylvan Lake, Wildlife loop, Mount Rushmore, and so much more! Stay here! You won’t regret it!

Beautiful location and easy access to all there is to see in Custer or Keystone. The property is spacious and the yard was the perfect outdoor playground for our kids. We loved that there were toys and books to play with in the house as well. It all felt very private too. Thanks for a great stay!

Wonderful property! Centrally located by so many great destinations. House up on the hill above the city of Custer so easy to get groceries, or stop by the great Mexican restaurant in town or quickly get to the main roads yet you feel very remote. Wrap around porch let us sit in the sun or shade any time of day!

We needed a cabin close to our family in Hot Springs and this did exactly that. Its location just outside Custer made it easier for us to get Pizza from town. It made for a nice getaway before the new year begins. Thanks!

My wife and I stayed here for a week with our two adult children. we enjoyed the time here. The house is close to town, but when you are at the house, it feels like you are far away in the mountains. The bedrooms were nice and the kitchen was perfect.

If you're looking for something fancy, this isn't the house for you. But if you're looking for spacious, comfortable, and peaceful - this is the house for you. There is plenty of room to spread out and there are two decks outside with nice patio furniture. Located on the outskirts of town, we were constantly entertained by deer. The last night we were there, we saw seven deer in the yard. We used the fire pit and as it got dark we couldn't believe all of the stars we saw - we don't see many stars living in a city. There aren't any neighbors close by so it really is quiet. Our grandkids got a kick out of the record player and repeatedly asked us to play a record. Candace was easy to get in touch with if anything came up and there are little extras in the house that you just don't see at many VRBO houses anymore...a welcome basket of goodies, Kleenex boxes around the house, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, etc. Even plenty of dishwasher pods & laundry detergent (we've rented houses where you get two dishwasher pods & one roll of t.p. "to get you started" and you have to go to the store right away). We would definitely rent this house again!

We loved the welcoming committee that greeted us when we arrived (3 deer & serveral rabbits)! Our stay was quiet, serene, and peaceful. This charming home with stylish decore’ was a delight to stay in and had more room than two couples could ever use. Loved the proximity to the Mickleson Biking Path and all the beautiful sights of the Black Hills. We appreciated the quick responses to our inquiries and needs. Thank you for a delight stay!

This was a great cabin for all of our activities on our family vacation for the first time in South Dakota. Check in was easy and any questions were quickly answered by the owner. The cabin is fully stocked with linens, dishes and any kitchen ware we needed and the grill was easy to use. The location was perfect with every major attraction on the west side of the state within 2 hours drive, even Devils tower. We had a great time and if we ever visit South Dakota again we would stay here!

Our family group of 6 Adults and 6 youth ranging from age7 to 14 had a delightful stay at Needles Nest. The 5 bedrooms fit our family perfectly and the upper and lower family rooms were great for multiple activities. We loved the setting and the incredible deck, seeing deer several times a day and several turkeys. Even though it was Sturgis week, Needles Nest was a welcome refuge from all that noise and commotion. Sad to have to leave as all ages loved our time there!

We very much enjoyed our time and stay at Needles Nest! The home was well maintained and appointed, with a great location to boot! We appreciated the abundant supplies of things like paper towels, laundry soap, shampoo, coffee, etc. Beds were comfortable and our boys enjoyed playing outside around the property. Custer is a great home base for enjoying Custer State Park and the Black Hills area!

Our big group had an amazing time!! The house was exactly as expected based on the photos - cozy, comfortable and in an absolutely beautiful setting. Our young kiddos loved exploring in the woods and our big kids played cards all night at the big dining table. We enjoyed morning coffee on the big porch, taking in all the nature, including so many deer!! The location to all the Black Hills attractions was fantastic as was the proximity to the local grocery store, ice cream shop and lots of restaurants.
When the teenagers are raving about the accommodations you know your trip is a 10 out of 10. Candace was so kind and easy to work with. All in all a wonderful vacation for our family!!

Multi-Family trip 2022
This property is just as advertised, we were able to sit on the deck and watch the deer every morning and every night. Location wise we were right in the center of everything we wanted to see and do, we spent time at Custer National Park at several lakes, we golfed and then we went up to Pectola lake- everything was easy to get to & a quick trip. We will definitely be back!
