THINGS TO NOTE
*Exciting news—We're expanding! We're wrapping up the addition of two new cabins to our larger property. You might notice some friendly contractors finishing up work on The Beach Bum (check out the map in the photos).
* While we strive to keep the cabin spotless, you're in the heart of rural Maine, where even our best efforts can't keep every curious critter away. You may spot an insect or two indoors. Consider them your rustic cabin companions—here to complete the authentic lakeside experience!
* In Maine, winter isn’t just a season—it’s an adventure! To navigate our snowy roads like a true Mainer, we highly recommend an all-wheel drive vehicle.
* Water is filtered well water and safe to drink. That said, we know everyone has their own taste preferences, so feel free to bring bottled if you prefer.

The house was nice, newer updates and a step up from the typical lake rentals in Maine. The main floor has a nice kitchen, living room, dining, master bedroom and full bath. Wish the upstairs had more than a loveseat for gathering and watching tv. The downstairs is big, has a bedroom, living area, and half bath. The, property was nice except the construction in front of the house that we weren't told about till the day we arrived. It was understandable that it needed to be done but wish we were informed ahead of going because it took away from the relaxing atmosphere and privacy.
The beach was very nice and the kayaks! The beach is shallow and you have to walk through a lot of muck to get past your waste. Its definitely a good beach for small kids. The firepit was very nice and right by the water. The house was equipped with everything you need!

Great Property! 100 Yards of beach access. When I say beach I genuinely mean Beach (sand).
The house layout is as follows.
The entrance divides the main floor to the bottom floor. On the main floor there is a large kitchen with added washer. The living room is split between a sitting area and dining room. Your Master bath is on this floor as well as master bedroom. 2 sets of sliding glass doors allow access to the deck.
The lower level has one large open area with twin sofa recliners. A larger TV with Roku and 2 sets of bunk beds. Also there is an added bedroom and bathroom.
In the end if you have a good size family this is great as you can have the kids run around outside by day and have their own space in the evening. Great rental!

- First of all, a day or two before our arrival, we learned that the place did not have safe drinking water. We were having to buy jugs of water throughout our stay. A water cooler would have been nice.
- There were no washer and dryer even though the photos of the house clearly showed a washer and dryer.
- A/C unit (heat pump) on the first floor leaked water throughout our stay. The owner said this is a known issue and he actually had a yearly maintenance and cleaning scheduled for the following week, but we feel this yearly cleaning should have been done before the cooling season to avoid this situation, especially since he was aware of the issue. We had to have a bowl and a pot underneath it to catch water because it wasn't just a few drops.
- The fridge did not work. This was apparently also a known issue according to the Owner. The digital temperature control for the fridge did not work so the fridge was not cold at all and some food got spoiled before we realized what was going on. The freezer side also wasn't cold enough to keep things frozen either so we had to use the freezer side as a fridge to keep things cold.
-Sheets on the master bedroom bed had a stain and were covered in human and pet hair. There were no extra sheets so we bought new ones. The shower curtain was very dirty and stained at the bottom.
The place was also light on a lot of basic items so we had to go out right away to buy things like dishwasher detergent, soap, and salt and pepper.

We really only slept here due to events this weekend we attended. The cabin is well appointed with all necessary bedding, towels and cooking utensils. Great picturesque views and beach with lawn chairs and beach and fire pit.
Beds are comfy and house is very quiet and recently updated/rebuilt.
Owner has great communication.
