About this cottage rental
Cottage is located on Molasses Pond which is 3 miles long. Waterfront living at its finest with a large wrap around deck to enjoy the loons, ducks and eagles etc. Wharf is attached to the deck for excellent swimming, fishing and boating, large enough to accommodate watercraft . There is a fire pit for evening enjoyment . Boating enthusiast will like our proximity to public boat ramp. ATV access trails nearby. This camp is not too intimidating for 2 people but will accommodate 8 . Heated and cooled by a heat pump system plus a wall mounted gas heater in the kitchen . Artisian well, and shed to store bikes etc. Beach towels not provided. Small local store with lunch counter only 10 miles away. Seafood and fresh vegetables available locally.

Not only it this location ideal for all things fun in surrounding areas but it's so beautiful there you really wouldn't need to the leave to enjoy your stay!! Our family really enjoyed the house, the lake of course and everything available to you, for an amazing vacation. Can't wait to go back!!

The location is nice if you’re looking for a quiet, off the beaten path house with direct water access. Bar Harbor/Acadia are about an hour away.
The house itself was ok. Damp and a bit musty so hard on those with allergies of that sort. You can tell the owners have tried to combat this with several damp rids hanging all over. They Otherwise it had everything we needed and the outdoor areas were nice

The lake was great, quiet, clean and warm. We went swimming everyday. Could not keep the dogs out of the water so the gates were great for containment. Cottage clean and describe correctly.
Kitchen is fully stocked with pots & pan. Easy check in and out. No issues. Been two years in a row.

Property was as expected, clean. Easy check in. Right on the water and private from neighbors. The dogs loved being outside and swimming right off the dock for dogss and us. Lake was very quiet. Just what we wanted. The one bad thing was we had no cell service. Needs more electrical outlets

The cabin is in a great location. It’s right on a pond with a nice dock. It has a nice roomy kitchen, comfy bedrooms and a nice living room in which to relax. Outdoor space is very nice with direct access to the pond. Hosts were very nice and easy to communicate with.

We loved everything about our getaway to Molasses Pond. The cottage was wonderfully comfortable. If you are looking for peace and quiet, which we were, this is the place. The deck and dock were fabulous.

Pictures looked better than house, it was clean. Needs washer/dryer, dish washer. It was a little cool in the bed rooms had to keep the doors open for heat. Probably a better place to stay in the summer.

We enjoyed the quiet location and being able to swim in the pond (early September). Sunrise from the deck was beautiful and it was nice hearing the coyotes at night. Acadia was about an hour drive, so we could easily spend some of our days in the National Park and get back before it got too late. Overall, the house was comfortable and convenient.

Really a great place to rent if you like privacy and quietness and obviously the water. Sweet dock right off the porch! Lots of out door space as well. Nice fire pit and wood their for you to burn.

Amazing stay
Our entire stay, and everything about it, was phenomenal. The communication with the host was almost immediate every time, and check in (and out) was super simple. The property is even better than the photos, and it was so comfortable. We stayed the end of October and heat was never a problem as there are also electric heaters you can put near the beds if need be (my brother slept on the enclosed porch area and was more than warm enough). There is a little public beach about a tenth a mile around the corner that was wonderful, and atv trails that we walked on right across the street from that. It is secluded, but an easy drive to Ellsworth if need be, and an easy drive to Acadia/Bar Harbor and the Schoodic Peninsula (which you have to go to!). One large bathroom on the bottom floor, and two beds in the loft upstairs, but we didn't even go up there; but no steps that you /need/ to go up. We also had our dog and it was perfect.

Beautiful location
A beautiful, peaceful and relaxing place by the lake. The photos do not do the surroundings justice. We loved the sunset every morning. We used the fire pit one night and appreciated the provided wood pile.

We really enjoyed our stay. We had a chance to meet Carolyn and she was wonderful. The cottage was perfect. We would love to return next year a bit earlier when we could actually swim in the pond.

We all really enjoyed our time here. It was clean and very comfortable for our group of four and a small dog. The owner was very responsive and friendly. We have no complaints and would definitely stay here again.

Peaceful location
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful cottage home. We stayed from July 19 - July 24. This vacation home was clean and comfy! The owners were very helpful! It's a great place to read, go hiking, go bike riding and do water activities. It was our first time in Maine, but it will definitely not be our last!

Perfect honeymoon!
We had the absolute best time! We traveled from WV for our honeymoon and I couldn’t have picked a better spot! We spent 2 days not even leaving the house! Binging Netflix and cooking our own meals, swimming and fishing at the pond! Owners even let us use their kayaks. Highly recommend :)

Great value!
This rural hideaway was a nice, quiet place to stay. The sunrises were beautiful! It was a reasonable drive to Acadia National Park and allowed us to bring our pup with us. We had a couple issues with the stove and toaster, but Carolyn was there the very next day to fix everything. It's not whether you have mishaps, it's how they are handled. We would definitely stay here again. It was our first trip to the beautiful state of Maine! From Pennsylvania 💙

Beautiful location
We had a wonderful stay at this rustic camp. The description is true to its locale, with plenty of outdoor seating and a beautiful view. We drove to Acadia and Schoodic Peninsula and enjoyed several other hikes, and loved coming back to this secluded spot.

Nice and queit
We enjoyed our stay very much. We visited Acadia each day we stayed. Even though it's 52 minutes from most areas of the park the drive didn't feel long at all. The area was very quiet and peaceful perfect for relaxing after long days of hiking. The pond right off the deck was the perfect way to enjoy the sunrise. The only thing I wish we did was sign the guest book!

We had a great stay at this place. House is nice and comfy with amazing lake front views. We really enjoyed cooking and kayaking here. Also, Carolyn was very helpful and always available for any needs. Overall, we were extremely happy with the stay here.

Perfectly Adequate
This place was just as described and clean enough. Great for going into Acadia.. long drive but much more affordable and private than anywhere closer. My only complaint was that they came to remove the dock for the winter during our stay. I understand that it was early October and the dock must come out, but that definitely should've been disclosed to us in advance.
