About this house rental
Newport charm abounds in this 6,000 sq ft historical 1850's home. Whether your planned visit is for relaxation, family affairs, celebrations or simply enjoying the seaside city of Newport, this is the perfect home away from home! Appropriate for accommodating groups of family, friends, wedding parties, family reunions, corporate retreats, and more.
This historical home is located in the heart of Newport within walking distance of just about everything. The neighborhood is quiet, with many large residential homes, and some quieter inns or B&Bs. It is just a few blocks from historic Bellevue Avenue, the Tennis Hall of Fame, and the Viking Hotel.
Bowens Wharf with all of its history and famous restaurants including The Clarke Cooke House and The Black Pearl is only a 10 minute walk from the house.
The large chefs kitchen with butlers pantry is fully stocked with everything you would need to serve a simple meal or a celebration. Cookware, glassware, flatware, dishes, serving platters, etc... A collection of menus from local restaurants for delivery are in the kitchen, or the name of a private chef can be provided by Elizabeth, our property manager.
The beautiful dining room with its historic 1930's mural (depicting some of Newport's most recognizable landmarks), has seating for 10-12. The adjacent solarium has two cafe tables for morning coffee!
Each bedroom is its own oasis with its own Keurig coffee maker, ice bucket, and mini fridge, and all have private bathrooms.
Enjoy wine, cheese and crackers on the front porch and watch the passers bye, or take in the tranquility of the private rose garden in the rear yard with its 4 Adirondack chairs. Wedding parties have used the backyard for games ie: Croquet, Bocce... probably non of them really successful, but they had fun!
The City of Newport has very strict guidelines in order for us to retain a "special use permit" for short term rentals, and we abide by all of them. We have quarterly inspections for fire and all safety alarm systems. The City also requires that there is a property manager or owner living in the home year-round. Elizabeth, the property manager lives at 24 Kay with her 5lb Cavapoo, (Poppy) in a little, but adorable apartment located on the second floor with its own entrance at the rear of the house.
We look forward to welcoming you!

We stayed here over the course of our wedding weekend with our close family and friends - and the experience was utterly perfect! There is tons of space for everyone, each room was absolutely beautiful and it was the perfect place for getting ready with my bridesmaids and first look photos. Elizabeth is an incredible host and was so helpful with questions leading up to the weekend and ensuring everything was running smoothly with us over the course of our stay!
Fabulous location, walking distance to bars/restaurants and perfect spot for our home base throughout the wedding festivities!
We wish we could have moved in!! :)

This house was spectacular! We came to Newport for our daughter’s wedding and stayed at the house for 4 days with our whole family. The bedrooms are spacious and all have their own bathrooms. There is so much living space. And the outdoor landscaping is gorgeous. The bride and bridal party all had makeup and hair done at the house on Saturday and it was perfect. Elizabeth was so lovely and answered any question we had so promptly. I just cannot say enough about this property….and we have rented many properties for family vacations over the past several years. This one was unforgettable.

Location is excellent and the house has loads of space and character with a lovely garden. Elizabeth the host was the best. She was always available, flexible regarding our requests and super helpful beyond the norm! One or two quirks as the house is a historic home, but highly recommended a stay.

The house is beautiful and so well appointed. Our family gathered in the large dining room for pre and post wedding dinners and brunches. The hostess couldn't have been more hospitable. This rental made an already special time just extraordinary!!!

We were a group of 8 friends and all felt as if we were in the home of a friend. Every room was well decorated and spotless and the kitchen was well supplied with the silverware, dishes and glassware needed. The ample parking, beautiful grounds, and convenient location made our stay very easy. The property manager was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. We could not have been happier and would recommend 24 Kay Street to anyone.

This is very nice, clean, large home within walking distance to downtown. We were 5 sisters away for a few days and the 5 bedrooms with on suites made for a very comfortable stay. I would stay again or recommend to anyone.

Had a great stay with a group of friends at this lovely house, which combines historic house charm with modern comforts. It was perfect for our group as there were multiple comfy common spaces to hang out in as well as very private bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The kitchen is extremely well stocked for a rental and the front porch is the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine prior to dinner.
Also, the location is excellent as it is within walking distance from everything, and the communication from the property manager was excellent. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again when visiting Newport!

Family of 4 came in from out of town and hosted local family for Thanksgiving. Very spacious and comfortable, plenty of kitchen space, large dining room with additional dining areas. Bedrooms were all large and comfortable. It is a former B&B, so it serves large groups well and each room is kind of self-sufficient with mini-fridge, Kuerig, and Streaming TV.
One thing to make note of is that there is a caretaker apartment on the 2nd floor with a completely separate entrance. We didn't hear much on the 2 nights of our 5 night stay they were there, but we also don't know what from our conversations could be heard. If it's a concern for you, you might want to discuss it with the host. I believe the property needs to have a permanent resident based on Newport regulations, but I think they probably don't need to be there 365 days/year.
Not really a negative, and we loved the stay. Just something to be aware of.

This house is amazing! It is exactly as it appears in the pictures – and even brighter! We had a group of five women all of whom had a spectacular time. The location is excellent and you can walk to most things. The house is elegant, yet homey, and is very well-appointed.. Thank you so much Elizabeth for your help as the property manager.
