The hotel and staff are absolutely fantastic! We stayed in the king room with a balcony which was so neat, the only downfall was the cars driving by blaring their music on the weekend nights. I should have thought about noise and definitely wouldn’t have stayed that close to the street in the hotel. I hope that makes sense because the only complaint I have is because I didn’t think the noise thru. The hotel is beautiful, the vibe is everything. The staff is so attentive and polite! The atmosphere is very peaceful! I look forward to staying again!

The Frenchmen Hotel - A Hidden Gem in the Heart of NOLA
Absolutely amazing property! I recently stayed at The Frenchmen Hotel during a trip to New Orleans and it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of fantastic.
We had quite a catastrophe with our flights and ended up being delayed by the airline. The staff at The Frenchmen was so kind and generous, helping us make the best of the vacation time we had remaining. They extended our stay and even upgraded our room, which was the cherry on top of their wonderful hospitality.
The property itself is beautiful, with a lovely pool and hot tub that were the perfect oasis to relax in after long days exploring the city. The location is also unbeatable - right in the heart of the vibrant Frenchmen Street district, providing easy access to all the best music, food, and culture New Orleans has to offer.
I can say with certainty that The Frenchmen Hotel will always be my go-to when visiting NOLA. The combination of their stellar service, beautiful facilities, and unbeatable location make it an absolute gem. I highly recommend booking a stay here for your next trip to the Big Easy!

Loved everything about this property. Close the everything, very safe facility

It was amazing. Will definitely be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The staff was excellent, the room needed a little TLC, the water was nice and hot, of course the area was a little rough but that’s the French Quarter. Dining and entertainment were in walking distance. Be prepared, depending on where your room is located, you will hear street noise. Would definitely stay there again!
4.6
The only complaint was that the property does not have onsite parking…we had to use public parking which did not have in and out privileges.
4.6
The Frenchman was a great hotel. Our room was towards the front and a little louder but didn't bother us at all. The pool was good and Tiki Tock was a great bar.
4.6
Cool old school hotel. Great courtyard pool. We enjoyed our balcony room except when trying to sleep. To say Frenchmen St is loud would be an understatement!
4.6
The hotel was adorable and in a very walkable location. My only complaint is that the pool was closed and this was a large part of our reason for booking here.
4.6
Great value stay and the property is adorable. Was a little grumpy that the pool was down indefinitely for a cleaning and the tv didn’t work, but the staff got the pool cleaned for the next day. The pool made the stay with a break from the heat and humidity. Didn’t think we would be able to sleep Saturday night with how loud it was, but underestimated our exhaustion and Sunday and Monday night you could hear a pin drop. We’ll be back to New Orleans many times and we’ll stay here again for the majority.

Beautifully restored property; clean, friendly, secure.

I noticed I was charged additional $23 and when I called the hotel for the reason they said I drank from the alcohol from the fridge. Look I don’t mind paying if I actually drank from the fridge but I didn’t. The gentlemen who I spoke to was snippy and said I go based on physical evidence, instead of hearing me out. I spend easily 100 bucks on there outside bar so I wouldn’t be calling for no reason about $23 bucks. Never have I experience this before and I travel frequently. Definitely won’t be coming back to this hotel.

wonderful hotel for visitors, with great location. Not the fault of the hotel, but there's lots of street noise though it shuts down eventually

Being from the NW, my daughter had never seen a roach (the size of about a 50 cent piece) before. It was not due to lack of cleanliness, but just snuck in as we were bringing in our luggage

The location couldn't be better - right on Frenchmen St but super close to all the fun stuff on Decatur. The pool and hot tub were a good vibe, the bar was great and the rooftop was a relaxing place to hang out in the day. The staff were super accessible and responsive.
The room itself was stylish but very minimal, and aside from a closet there wasn't much room to put our stuff. We stayed there for four nights and had to basically live out of our suitcases, which was a bit frustrating. But we got used to it quickly. One of us had to work a few hours two of the days, and the little desk was definitely adequate for that.
After adjusting to the motel layout and bare bones room, we really grew to love the place. It was right in line with the weird and carefree feel of New Orleans, and i would definitely stay there again.

This property has a great location on Frenchmen St. That being said, it is noisy in the evening. But the grounds were beautiful, well kept, fresh, and the staff was very accommodating. They serve strong coffee, tea, and fruit to get you on your way in the moring.

Beautiful hotel, great location. Some of the staff were helpful, some fairly cold. Overall, I’d return.

The hotel was so cute! The room was clean, it was great that we had a mini fridge as well! There was a closet with hangers and a suitcase stand which was very helpful since there was minimal counter space. The bathroom is a little tight so be aware that you might have to sit on the toilet at an angle... took a little getting used to but overall not bad! Complimentary fruit and water in the lobby was nice, the location was also perfect right at the end of the French Quarter so we could walk everywhere! Expect noise being so close to the nightlife.

Love the location of this property, close to excellent music and French quarter. Historic hotel, cool design.
Great staff. Ronnie was wonderful— vibrant smile and really nice and helpful:)
4.6
Beautiful art, convenient location, small room and bathroom but fine for small people.
4.6
Clean and conveniently located. Quiet from 3am-6am.
4.6
The property is lovely but the building across the street is a complete eye sore - graffiti broken windows. It’s such a shame. The hotel is funky and has a private bar, pool, hot tub. But the area has gotten rougher post Covid. Not the Frenchman’s fault - but as a heads up.

Visited the Frenchmen Hotel as a solo traveler in Nola. My stay was convenient and cozy. The staff was friendly and helpful in giving recommendations nearby. My only disappointment was that the power went out in the area for half the day, serving as an inconvenience as I was getting ready. Although not the hotel’s fault, there was no comp for the inconvenience.

Hotel was unique

The Frenchmen is a perfect location to explore the music and vibe of the Quarter without a lot of the traffic. Our room was very tiny, but efficient and the bed was clean and comfortable. It is a good budget hotel with character. There is no breakfast however the lobby coffee pot wasn’t reliable either. Scope out your breakfast options beforehand. “Who Dat?” Cafe is a trek but has great coffee and breakfast.
4.6
The staff was very friendly, the place is darling and it’s close to a lot of restaurants and bars.

We booked The Frenchman due to the nostalgic look, we did read some of the reviews and wondered how bad it could be. When we arrived for check-in we had to be let in as the main entrance was locked. When we were offered a complimentary pair of earplugs that should have been our first clue. We checked in and went to find our room. We booked a queen room and that's all it was, a very small room with only a full mattress, not queen. The room was extremely small and the bathroom was smaller. It certainly was not like any of the pictures on the website. We spent the night and pre-booked at another hotel.
4.6
We had a very nice stay at the Frenchmen Hotel. The location is right at the end of Frenchmen street which is great if you want easy access to many music venues in the French Quarter. We went out of season so it was relatively quiet but would be very noisy in season.
4.6
We enjoyed our stay at the Frenchmen! A nice historical place in the French Quarter.
4.6
Great except no hot water for shower.

This is not the first time in this hotel. And we will come back again. The room was very small, but quiet, despite the festive atmosphere of Frenchmen street. The staff was very courteous. The Nola decor is what we were looking for. And I can't thin of a better location in the city: Frenchmen street is where the music lives..

Built in 1860, the hotel is very old and quaint. It was in a great area with everything within very close walking distance. The room was clean and bed very comfortable. You are not staying at a 5 star hotel with all the services but for us, it was great since we were never in our room anyway. If you are bothered by noise, don't get a room on the street. Our room was in the courtyard so the noise was not an issue. I would stay there again.

This hotel is gorgeous. Everything I wanted from a beautiful New Orleans building! I didn't go in but the pool was stunning. Air con and fridge in the room. Corner shops nearby for water etc. The location was perfect. Right next to the french market, street car stop and frenchmen street bazaar and pubs. The noise didn't keep us awake at all and we were directly above reception next to the stairs. The Tiki Tok was great next door too.
My one and only issue was that we were there for 5 nights with lots of luggage and there were no drawers or wardrobe for our clothes. We were in america for 17 nights and could have done with somewhere for our things. Instead of the quite usless desk under the TV, a huge set of drawers for storage would have been so much more helpful. Our room was large and could have handled lots more storage options. A full length mirror would have been nice too. Even if it was in the hall! All we had was some hangers on wall hooks. The bathroom was clean and very nice. The decor in the place was fantastic. I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat. Despite the lack of storage, as everything else was great. If you do have large cases, be aware there's no lift. BEAUTIFUL hotel.

I love that this was so close to all the fun but not exactly in the middle of the craziness. Nice little walk to the French market and Jackson square.
4.6
The pictures do not do this place justice! It is beyond adorable and eclectic! There’s a charming blend of modern and classic in the decor and art work. The beds are so soft with really good linens and pillows. The service staff is beyond amazing! They were able to check us in early which was great because we needed a nap. They have an amazing tiki bar with classic drinks and a rooftop patio. The location is perfect! It’s on the south end of Frenchman (live music) and a short walk to the main drag and Jackson Square. You really feel a part of the city!

Adorable property.

The Frenchmen was PERFECT. The pillows were to die for- majorly comfortable bed that made me want to stay in all day if it weren’t for the NOLA life calling me out.
Perks:
Bed
Great A/C
Design and decor were perfection
Easy check-in & check-out
Great location- blocks from the quarter
Coffee- the lobby coffee in the morning was delish!
Minor Negatives:
Frenchmen St is LOUD at night. Cars parade by with subwoofers. I was in room 209 which was on the inner part above the pool. It wasn’t a problem for me but if you’re sensitive to noise, take note.
Water- the water temp in the room was only warm and hot. No cold water :(
Text Communication- a little overkill TBH
No microwave- NOLA food calls for leftovers. Wish they had a communal microwave at least.
Overall HIGHLY recommend. I’ll be a regular!

Loved everything

The ambiance is different. It is near everything. It's a very nice boutique hotel in the middle of all that is New Orleans. The hotel is a little bit older but that's what sets it apart from others.
