A lovely traditional Italian hotel. We booked an executive room and were a bit surprised not to have a view and to find that the bathroom had no shower but spa bath. The room was small and dark and traditionally furnished but the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was effective. Hotel staff were charming and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and delicious.

Nice older hotel. Clean and quiet rooms. Breakfast was very good and well worth the cost. A bit hard to find but the hotel staff helped us find the location. Don't hesitate to call them.

This hotel provided fake information about the rooms and used very poor rooms to replace what we booked two rooms at the beginning. What we booked are two 16 square meters rooms with balcony. However, this hotel put one of us into a dark, hot and narrow room in the basement and another one into an attic with very low ceiling. When we spoke to the count staff, she quibbled that’s the rooms we booked with very poor attitude. After we showed her the evidence of our booked rooms, she had to change the rooms for us. Though they are better but still do not have balcony. In fact, this hotel has very few rooms with balcony but it provides wrong information to potential customers. I strongly suggest not booking this hotel.

Very quiet and comfortable offering a fine breakfast. It has a quaint, old-world hotel feel that is welcoming.

Very friendly lady at the reception. She solved the problem (with the rooms and the breakfast) perfectly.

My friend and I stayed in the top story businessman single rooms. While these small rooms are probably warm and cozy in cold weather, they are stuffy and warm in hot summer weather (the skylight window cannot be opened). The air conditioner unit in my friends room was in need of servicing and its noise was too loud to permit sleep. He was eventually offered another room for our second night, but for the first night it was suggested that he do as Italians purportedly do and turn it off at night (which he was forced to do despite the very hot July weather to try to get some sleep). Some of the hotels common areas have seen better days -- the entryway stair carpet is loose and frayed, and the furniture on the seemingly neglected upper story terrace is old and uncomfortable -- and it is puzzling why these relatively minor refurbishments arent being seen to. Breakfast is not included in the room price, which is unusual for a four-star hotel. The hotels location is quiet and picturesque and street parking (at additional cost) is convenient. The walk up to the town center is steep. The hotel has a pleasant and bygone character, and perhaps the rooms other than the businessman singles enable it to claim four stars.

Helpful and friendly staff at this aging hotel. Starting to show signs of shabbiness, but very comfortable mattress. My room was small and dark, with attic style roofline and skylights with shades that I couldn’t reach to adjust the light. Tiny bathroom with small triangular shower. Lovely public areas. On city walls at edge of town. Parking available. Uphill short walk into town centre and longer walk to the bus station. Would only rate it st 3 stats. Internet wouldn’t work in my room at all.

Beautiful view of surrounding countryside. Attractive lobby, breakfast room and room decor. A couple of blocks from busiest part of city so convenient yet quite and private. Important to note that the couple of blocks are up steep hill so be prepared for brisk walks. Staff were all extremely friendly, helpful and very accommodating to our lack of Italian. Excellent, reasonable breakfast.

Good quiet location. Rooms are ok but our air conditioner didn’t work. Service is average but the breakfast is poor.

Easy access by car just inside the City wall. Elegant place. Nice terrace with a view of the countryside. Only real drawback - the only place in Italy I went that did not include free breakfast.

Hotel is clean and the staff is helpful. The bathroom is a bit odd as it does not have a true shower and only offers a bath tub! Other than that, it was a lovely hotel and I would recommend it.

This hotel seems tired, the carpets, the bedspreads, the lobby all need updating. I dont remember if there were artificial flowers but I wouldnt be surprised if there were. There was a recent expensive bathroom remodel but the bathroom mirror was so high, I, a short-normal height couldnt reach it. In addition, there was no hook to hang the hand-help shower on. It was pretty hard to wash my hair. This was more like a three star than a four star hotel.

Nice place with very nice people. You must remember where you are. The very best in town

Perfectly located, allowing parking within the walls and direct access to the town center. The hotel offers comfortable clean rooms with tastefully refurbished bathrooms. This is not a modern hotel and fits perfectly within the surrounding of this historic town. Highly recommended and I will stay again on my next visit.

On a recent trip to Italy I wanted to stay in Urbino. Through Expedia I booked three nights in the Hotel Bonconte. On the morning after the first night, we received some news that forced us to change our plans. We informed the desk that we would not need the room for that night nor the next night. They then charged us for the one night’s stay and charged us the next night’s stay (a substantial penalty) because we cancelled. We complained that this was well before the six o’clock limit which I believe is standard in the hotel industry but they claimed that because I had booked through Expedia and not directly those rules did not apply. They claimed that Expedia’s policy was to collect the commission for the three night’s stay in advance of my arrival and that you had already taken it off the money that would be forwarded to them. I offered to pay what your commission would be for the three nights, but they said this would not be enough and insisted of the full amount. I am not happy that this cost me money, but moreover I am unhappy that Expedia has not explained this interesting rule to me in advance. It seems clear to me that if there are rules that Expedia enforces that I am not aware of---rules that don’t seem to apply with other booking agencies, then there is a serious communication problem. Either I, you, or the hotel is misinformed, but at the end of the day I’m out the extra day.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. It is situated on the ancient walls of the town with excellent views over the neighbouring countryside - it lies on the opposite side of the town from the main bus stop so, if you're arriving by public transport, be prepared for a steep climb to the centre of town and a descent to the hotel. Anyone with heavy luggage would be advised to take a taxi as it is only a short distance but potentially hard work. Our room was beautifully finished and had its own, secluded patio with table, chairs and sunbeds. The bathroom had glass walls which some might find a bit disconcerting but it did give the room a more spacious feel and the large wooden bath was very comfortable. The hotel has a dining room and can provide evening meals although we tended to wander into town and enjoyed several good meals at conveniently placed restaurants.Staff throughout were friendly and helpful and, all in all, this was a lovely place to stay.
