carpets smells, reception was poorly schooled about how to use wifi. Door keys malfunction randomly and you have to go to reception to get it replaced. Housekeeper told me that it generally happened due to some electronic interference.
Requested to send someone to help us with AC issue and it took them ages to knock my door. I mean poor Cleanliness was at height.
I will never think of coming over here in my even dreams.

Terrible food and dining

The staff at The Ashok is super friendly and very helpful. The hotel itself is a little run down, and administrative routines like check in etc. are slow and appearantly complicated. But probably not worse than at other hotels in India. Super nice outdoor pool except irritating that it closes when raining for no appearant reason.

Has been / an also ran. Stuck in the 70's... possibly 80's decor. Dated broken down design.

Looked very old rustic style government kind of hotel.

AVOID!! AC did not work. Hot water didn’t either. Wifi was spotty and slow. So much staff (e.g had 3 people walk us to room) and everyone expects tips. Overall rundown hotel. Kind of depressing. Go elsewhere.

Very welcoming staff
3.1
Worst hotel I have ever stayed so far
3.1
Coffee mugs in the room were used and you could see the coffee marks on them

Value for money

Not even close to 5 stars. 3 stars at best. The pool doesn’t belong to the hotel, it’s leased, and there is a limit to how many people can access. You also cannot lounge by the pool lounge chairs without a “costume”!
3.1
Room infrastructure is terrible
3.1
It was amazing

Rooms are very old fashioned, bedding is terrible, front staff is nice and courteous but the cleaners were angling for tips etc right from the get go, food is average, location is great.
3.1
Property is old , not well maintained

For two days they forgot to clean my room. I didn’t have towels on my bathroom. It takes like five minutes to get hot water. The breakfast is basic. Plus it’s expensive
3.1
Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff are so rude and slow especially the front desk reception to check in it took over 40 minutes just to check in then they gave us a filthy dirty room that looked like it had never been cleaned. When we complained they reluctantly changed the room which wasn’t any better. This hotel is so old and neglected it looks like they do not complete any maintenance at all. The bathroom was dirty not enough towels were left and the sheets on the bed were dirty. Thankfully we only stayed one night. I will never ever stay at this hotel

Old towels very bad shape
Washroom very bad
Very dirty
Only lobby looks good

The rom was not clean. Dust and dirty in all corner. Bad experience with staff in resection also.

Centrally located and vintage hotel.
3.1
This is a very historic and elegant structure with a lot of great artwork. It is centrally located and convenient. Unfortunately, the standards of service are low. The coffee shop at breakfast time is chaotic, unclean and poorly managed. Room service did not occur. The internet is erratic and slow. Perhaps a more competent approach to management would help.

Mold in the bathroom

Breakfast is a 2* less than ordinary. Too many tip seekers. Hotel room, ambience, overall -Amazing

I book two rooms and my mother was travelling with us And she is 90 years old.
We received only one room. They said they are trying to get me second room.
And inform me but I never received a call.
I slept on smaller sofa all.
We don’t eat even Breakfast and left.
Who I can blame Expedia or Hotel management
3.1
The worst hotel experience in India.
Wait check-in over a hour even though it was 6P.M., unstable wi-fi, very long distance from room to reception & restaurant, malfunction of room key everyday, no souldproof... These are the experineces I had from the hotel for 3 nights. I do not recommend this hotel to my family & friends.
3.1
Very bad manner
3.1
Horrible breakfast buffet. The spread is very limited and not much options. Even the dishes they serve are below average. Moreover, the service during breakfast was also bad.

Good property with great amenities

Lobby is awesome, room is old, the staff needs to smile ,

The property seems nice and grand, however it's is not what is used to be I was told. Probably 3-4star. Some rooms are very old and not kept up properly. Some rooms are better. The bathrooms are not kept up too well in the older rooms. And the newer ones are ok. The housekeeping staff and floor managers are nice , but some of the front desk staff are not so helpful. I think I was given a bad room at first and then the lobby manager was nice enough to upgrade me and the same front desk guy tried to deny me the upgrade. Also they made the mistake of not taking a deposit for extras and I had issues with room service and having to pay immediately on delivery with cash or online. If I can pay that amount of money for the room why would I ditch on paying a simple food bill. Fault of the front desk staff which led to a uneasy situation with friends.

Housekeeping and in room facilities need to improve.

Rooms need to be clean of dust, thanks

Incredibly run-down and ill-maintained. The lights in my bathroom flickered on and off, but when I called to request maintenance no one responded. The in-room safe didn’t work. The remote controlling the lights didn’t work. I was scheduled to stay for a week, but I fled after the first hour.

Overall, it is as good as any other 5-star hotel in Delhi. Nice spacious Halls, lobby, walkway & rooms.
Everything was excellent except for the room staff who are still in those colonial times, expecting a tip for everything, barging into your room for a tip.
Overall, it was a super experience hotel lobby staff was excellent, the food was great, rooms were great. 5 Stars for that.
3.1
This is a ripping off hotel , very poor dirty room , nasty. Never never ever again will stay here , too much staff but nobody doing anything. Beds and bathrooms are nasty. 0 star hotel
3.1
Poor to non existent Wi-Fi, overcrowded dining room to the point of no seats for breakfast, rudimentary bathroom facilities
3.1
Put me in room where WFI did not work . The light kept going out and on. I complained and a man came very rude. He did not fix anything and said it is working. I asked his name he won’t tell. Asked for manager to reception and manager upgraded me. Then I was happy
