Very comfortable and convenient place to stay while touring.
4.3
Very nice amenities and friendly staff!

Hotel was fantastic, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, rooms are nice and big. However there was a disconnect between the hotel and Expedia, not sure whose fault it was: we are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers over 12, when booking the hotel, the only option we had was to book 2 rooms. However upon check in, the hotel put us in a family room, which had a main room with king bed and an adjoining room with a single over double bunk bed, it would have been the perfect size for our family. Instead we paid for 2 family rooms, complete waste of money! I want an explanation from either the hotel or Expedia and expect nothing but a full refund for the extra family room.
Other than this issue, everything was perfect. The hotel is out of the way, not much dining options around 30 km radius, you’ll need a car to get around.

The alarm went on at midnight for no reason. It wake me up. Phone in the room was not working. No staff in the front desk for the fire drill instruction. Everyone stood in the lobby and feeling anxious. We didn't know who to call since we didn't have the emergency phone number of Iceland. In fact, the bed fitted sheet was worn-out and made me itching all night long. Additionally, there was no heat in the room. This is the most expensive room who changed almost $400 per night making me had a terrible experience on this trip.

For wanting to see the lava tube and the falls, this location was perfect for us. It all worked out well from a comfy bed to a nice breakfast. Dinner was also excellent. The only downside I can think of is that the rooms seemed a bit smaller than we experience at the other Fosshotel. Other than that, I highly recommend it.
4.3
Room was the biggest I'd had during my trip. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was great!
4.3
Special historical location.
4.3
Lovely hotel in the country. Friendly service, best restaurant we found on our trip, and a very relaxing spa!
4.3
Beautiful property, spa is very nice, and helpful at the end of a long day of sightseeing.
Walking distance to a few hiking trails, and snorrastofa, the exhibit dedicated to Snorri Sturluson

We were extremely impressed by our stay at Fosshotel Reykholt. The staff welcomed us warmly, the room was modern and comfortable, the spa facilities (and outdoor hot tub) were excellent and the food and breakfast was great. We came away really satisfied and would be happy to return.
4.3
This location is great to see the northern lights (Which we did because it was a clear night)! It's away from everything and has a spa! Breakfast at the hotel was delicious! Clean hotel. Very happy with this hotel
4.3
I di not like that you had to pay to use the out door hot tub. and that you could not take breakfast back to the room.

Location

Plenty of room. Everything seemed to cost extra but not explicitly known beforehand. When people come in tired from a busy day sightseeing they dont want no's or rules or this costs extra-they want simple. Skimpy towels, but that just may be an Iceland thing in general.
4.3
Staff was extremely friendly and competent. Definitely eat the breakfast buffet, beyond amazing, and nothing like breakfast buffets in the United States. Have dinner, unbelievable, everything from scratch, and the service was impeccable. And yet the drinks are all handcrafted and absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this hotel, and it was an extremely good value for the goods and services.
4.3
Modern hotel with great style. Dinner was very good at the hotel restaurant and we enjoyed the spa the few days we were there. Only complaint was that only one hot tub was working and the spa was quite busy on the weekend.
4.3
Hotel location is great. It is adequate. Everything needed, nothing extra. Breakfast was nice.
4.3
Advertising the property with outdoor hot tubs is great. Being required to pay for the use seemed a bit ridiculous.
4.3
Hotel near a historic site. Very nice, clean and quiet
4.3
Beautiful hotel and spa. We did a premium room and it was very modern and updated. Spa was really neat and relaxing, just wish we would have had more time there to enjoy it! Restaurant had delicious food.
4.3
Lovely place to stay, great location too. Minor issue with wifi availability was the only really concern I had
4.3
Outstanding property ! The surroundings were beautiful. Good breakfast !

Good Hotel

Location of the property was very quite and peaceful. Staff was friendly and accommodating of a late check in. They provided timely communication as well. There is a restaurant and bar in the property but the property is also driving distance to other things in the area.
4.3
The hotel was very clean. The rooms were sizable compared to every other place we stayed in Iceland. The bar and cozy lobby were a popular hangout making the place feel inviting. The breakfast was the best we had in Iceland.
4.3
Clean, quiet, friendly
4.3
Beautiful setting. Spacious room.

I spent 1 night only in this hotel when I stopped for a layover. The hotel is modern and mostly updated. Unfortunately, the only one area in the hotel which seemed a little bit outdated was my room, but I still felt super comfortable and liked it a lot. Check-in was super fast. I got a room on the first floor, but I did not really like being on the first floor, because people could easily see me through the window, so I always had to keep the curtains closed. I really loved the big and long window in my room, the room was bright because of much daylight. The bed in my room was super comfortable. The bathroom was pretty big, but it was the most outdated looking part of the room. I wish It looked newer and more modern. I loved having a bathtub there which was big too and fit me (6 feet tall) perfectly. Unfortunately, the shower did not work well. Actual shower knob was broken and shower did not work at full power. Also the bathtub was missing a plug to block water from draining. So I had to go to the front desk and asked for the plug. The bathroom amenities were of a very bad quality and smelled bad. Wi-Fi was working very fast. The hotel has a little spa area for extra money, but it is closed at 9 p.m. every day. I tried food in the hotel’s restaurant, and it was very disappointing! Expensive and very bad tasting! Plenty of free parking at the hotel. The scenery around the hotel is truly beautiful! I fully recommend this hotel if you need to lay over.

This was a very nicely maintained property, great location, staff was friendly, restaurant was great for both dinner and breakfast (breakfast not included, paid for when booking room). Only issue we had was that the outdoor hot tubs were considered part of the spa and had to pay 2500ISK per person to use, even though we arrived at 7pm. So we ended up not using them, but they looked nice. Otherwise, room was great, beds were comfortable, had a nice little patio since we were in lower level.
4.3
Breakfast was too expensive
4.3
Nice decor, friendly service, the room was very crowded for 3 people and was not prepared when we arrived at 10:00pm. The staff was apologetic but it was below standards for the price we paid for the room. The heater in the bathroom did not work, it was uncomfortable.
4.3
Excellent hotel at excellent location, esp for Into the Glacier tour from Husafell. The nearby Krauma geothermal bath was great too.
4.3
Good updated rooms. Very spacious and clean. Nice amenities. Only if breakfast was included it would be 5 stars
4.3
This was overall a nice stay in a small town while we weee exploring Western Iceland. The foyer is more modern and clean than the rooms (just so people are aware) but it worked for the two nights we stayed. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the dinner service was decent. I appreciate the eco-friendliness and good service.
4.3
Limited meal choice around hotel. The entire building reeked like cigarettes. The room had multiple stains on floor and couch.
4.3
A nice hotel right in the middle of several attractions. We loved the stay there and the staff was above and beyond great!
4.3
Lovely interior design, the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was fantastic. Great service.
4.3
The two ladies that met us at the receptiondesk tried to be friendly. I am not sure that it was a success. The breakfast was hopeless. It was so many people there and it was no food left when we arrived. We had to wait at least 15 minutes before we could get what we wanted.
4.3
It was clean restrant and kind people.
Especialy her name Ania was very nice and kind.
4.3
Everything was exceptional only wi-fi is bed.
