I am guessing (and hoping) people will look at this older hotel and move on- good, because I want to keep this OUTSTANDING secret to myself and those who have stayed here. 1) Very Clean. 2) Beds are Great 3) View of the River 4) Excellent Internet 5) Too Many TV Channels ;-) 6) Great water pressure in the shower. The family running it is great and again, everything you need in a hotel- minus a fancy looking building.

The overall look to this place is very quaint. I believe the owner lives on the property. The room was very nicely decorated. The motel is all ground level rooms, so it seems ADA friendly. I checked in at almost 11pm, but Mike greeted me with a smile. He had called me about an hour before, ensuring that I would still be checking in. He is a pleasant man. The property is very conveniently located right off of Interstate 64. I would stay at this property again. I felt very safe as a solo traveler at this place.

It was a decent stay, only slept there after the Jelly Roll concert. It was close to the coliseum, room was clean and beds comfortable. Check in was easy and quick

Hotel is exactly what you pay for. Was good enough for a night passing through. Hotel needs some TLC but was clean. Beautiful Mountain/River view behind hotel. Had benches to sit and watch the sunrise while drinking coffee.

We recently stayed at the budget inn hotel and had a pleasant experience. The place was fairly clean, which made our stay comfortable. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding a personal touch to the visit. The location is also quite nice, with great river views. Overall, a good choice for a stay!

Older roadside motel with some renovations. Clean and comfortable. No bugs. Has fridge and microwave. No breakfast, and restaurant on property not open. I-64 is close, but I couldn't hear traffic with A/C on. No issues with A/C. Good blackout curtains that actually cover the window and do not interfere with A/C unit. Back side looks onto the river. Door opens with key (not electronic) and there is a deadbolt. I love that you can park right outside your room door. Would stay again.

This is an older facility but it was clean and basic. Just what I was looking for. My only complaint was that I was at the far end of the building and the wifi signal wasn't strong enough to connect my laptop. Otherwise the stay was fine. I did enjoy the river view watching the recreational boaters going by. Also saw barges filed with coal going by. That was kind of a cool scene.

We chose this motel after finding most either full or very expensive for a Friday night. This motel was perfect for us. The setting is fantastic and very quiet and safe with the river along the back side and the mountain/expressway on the other. No others around. Being able to pull your car up to your room door (like the old days) was so convenient after a long day of driving. The owner was great. Very pleasant and welcoming. We enjoyed eating our late dinner along the river watching the sunset. It is an older motel but the beds, hot water, convenience, safety and all we really need are there. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked last minute and I was surprised first of all that they had one room for the six of us. It was big and comfortable. The front desk clerk was super nice. Rooms were clean The price was great. If we ever travel this way again I would definitely make this a pit. Stop for an overnight while driving. We may return on our trip back from South Carolina.

I prepaid through Expedia but when I arrived the clerk asked for payment and said my cc info had been saved but not charged. I was clearly given a choice when reserving to pay in full or not and I paid in full. Fortunately I was not double charged. The shower knobs were closed so tightly I didn't think I was going to get them open. After showering I discovered why. When I closed the knobs normally there was a significant leak from the tub faucet, so they had overtightened them instead of repairing/replacing the worn valve or washers. I will never stay here again.

Clean inside & outside older well-maintained motor inn type accommodation, located at the Kenawha River, with parking right at our door. Quiet & relaxing. We sat on a bench to eat dinner & enjoy the serenity of the river & setting sun.

Our stay at Budget Host Inn was just as expected. It wasn't updated and new but it was clean enough and we slept well. Traffic can be a bit noisy as it is right off the freeway. We were so tired it didn't bother us. The price and location was perfect for our needs.

The wifi didn't work, I tried to checkout early so I could get a refund for one day and was flat out told no. Someone entered our room one night around 11:30 pm and people with flashlights kept looking in our room all night. Was absolutely horrible experience I really just want a full refund at this point. Seriously thinking about contacting a lawyer about this awful experience
