DO NOT stay in this hotel. This place is very DIRTY so much even words like …undermine how badly I get like I was getting a new disease each night I took a shower and slept in this swamp. Very low standard. Towels are very old - came in grey color with a lot of spots, patches!!, and fringes. Bathrooms and toilets are filthy - when taking a shower, water leaked out making floor wet. Sewage smell is almost always in the bathrooms. Only one bar of soap, one small shampoo envelope, and one water bottle were given to a room with 4 customers. No floor mats/no hand towels were provided. Some bath towels provided were like those ones would use to clean floor at home - not to touch our bodies. Pillows and even mattresses smelled. This hotel gives me bad impression of the City of Veracruz - how below standard ones may live in this city since this hotel located in the prime area is very sub-standard with a high price we paid. We wanted to move but did not want to lose our money so we took a deep breath and stayed.... Cleaning was not properly done - some tissue papers still left in the bathroom after daily cleaning. Front desk people were so so - were minimally helpful during some shifts and were really ignorant during some. DO NOT stay in this hotel.

The facilities need updating. We had great customer service, staff are all very helpful. They turned a bad trip into a good one. They accept payments with expedia which was nice because my card was not present due to extenuating circumstances. We were left with minimal cash, no id, and the reservation we made at a different "fancier" location wouldnt help at all. The other place denied any work arounds which was awful coming from out of the country and basically at a loss with not much to work with.

There was a terrible days in this hotel, we needed to look for another hotel because in this place we didn’t find the Service that they were offering online.
The actitude of the girls that were in recepción were rude and they show us a very bar disposition to solve the problems we face there.

Great location! This hotel is located right in front of the Malecon, a couple blocks from the Zocalo. unfortunately, the rooms conditions are old and dirty looking (there is mold in the bathrooms). The pillows are in really bad condition. Also, be careful with the shower, the hot water is boiling!

It is in a great location, two blocks from the zocalo, right in front of the malecon and point of interest, and 30 mins from airport. Unfortunately, the room don’t look clean, very uncomfortable pillows, linen look dirty, and the front desk is not welcoming.

We were two gests and they gave us only one key. When we asked for one more key, they wanted us to leave our ID. That is ridiculous! We needed our Driver's license and our Passport for everything! Finally, one of our Mexicans friends left her ID for us. But she was not a gest of the hotel! Completely stupid rule! If we were two gests, then they must give us TWO keys.

Nice hotel for the price. Close to the ocean, across the street from the marketplace vendors. Also across the street from "La Parroquia". Also within a few minute walking distance to the Zocalo. Hotel reception staff were okay. Bell boy Luis Enrique was very helpful and friendly.

Stayed for two weeks. Paid $29.00 US per night, so we were not expecting high class accommodations. It's like a Motel 6 inside a restored 1940s hotel. If you are a fussy, stuffy, "Ugly American"-type, do not stay here; stay at the Emporio. The Ruiz Milan is close to what interested us: The Malecon, the Zocalo, and El Gran Café de la Parroquia. The parking garage is adjacent to the hotel, so access to our vehicle was convenient. The hotel does not allow you to take your car out more than once per day. I assume that this is because the spaces are limited and cramped, so the concierge has to sometimes move several cars to get to yours. For us, this was not an inconvenience because we used our rental car for long day trips. The AC unit in our room worked well, but it is not central air so it must remain at a preset level whenever it is on. It worked so well that we used a warm blanket at night to stay comfortable. There is a small indoor swimming pool and a Jacuzzi that functions with the water at room temperature. The staff is very pleasant.

The Ruiz Milán Hotel in Veracruz is in an excellent location. It is across the street from one of the largest markets in Veracruz. One can walk to the right along water edge past the military base and many small shops and hotels. Walk to the left a few blocks and be in the center of the historic center of town. In both directions there are several excellent outdoor/indoor seating cafes with excellent food. The staff is excellent and very helpful. A good place to stay!!
