The staff was friendly at first and we checked in without problems, we were given a free drink, all fine so far, the 2nd drink we ordered was charged 15€ for a single glass of unnamed white wine, I would pay more if this was agreed both sides but not like that ! Breakfast was late by 20minutes no reason given

I had to book another hotel and I did not get any Refund from Expedia because the hotel said: NO, and for Expedia the client issues in their hotels does not matter

They are very kind and helpful. John the Baptist Church was a five minute walk away.

Basic but fine. Air conditioning worked well, shower was fine. Had a fridge in the room and was 10 minutes walk from the town centre so quiet at night.

this is a small pension right next to the historical mosque and st Johns church and tomb. The archaeological museum is a short walk away as is the centre of town with all the eateries and shops. Although the hotel does not have a private car park you can park right outside in a safe street. Ephesus is a short drive away. We stayed 3 nights in 2 different rooms. The ground floor small double is a little on the small side but is clean and had a private bathroom. Being onthe ground floor it is a little humid. It had a window and a/c. The other room had a four poster bed and being on the second floor and having two windows was breezier. It also had 2 balconies. Unfortunately the balconies were not good to use as each one had the air con unit from the other rooms fixed to the wall there and sitting there to enjoy the breeze rather defeated thr object as there was hot air blowing out noisily above you. The room was bright and clean but you were rather on show as the people in the hotel opposite could see right inside. The staff were all especially welcoming and hospitable and very generous too. Our last night was a bit noisy due to kids making a noise. But all things considered: the lication, the staff, the price and the great breakfast with a view on the terrace made this a good overall stay

Rebetika was a quaint hotel close to all the sites and some within walking distance. This property was the owners family home that he converted into a hotel. The room was quite comfortable and clean. The high point of this hotel was the owner and his willingness to go all out for you. We needed something to eat so he called in sandwiches for us and had them delivered and we ate and talked together. He also arranged taxi service to the major sites (wonderful) and then cooked us dinner on his roof top terrace which is breathtaking. He sat down and talked with us at dinner which was quite enjoyable hearing about growing up in Turkey and about Turkey in general. We enjoyed our short stay here and wished to stay longer. Our room had 2 balconies to watch the happenings on the streets.

My wife selected the hotel because of its location and it was right on. She booked a small room because we planned on being out all day and werent going to be spending much time at the hotel anyway, but the owner wouldt hear of it, he had a larger room that was not booked for the night and just transfered us at no extra cost. Everyone was very kind. The room was very spacious and modern, very close to the main boulevard and us station. Many restaurants closeby. This is a really good option.

We had a very brief stay - arriving late from our flight to Izmir and getting very lost because we followed the wrong hotel on Google! Make sure it is the right one because it is simple really. The hotel was ok when we finally found someone to get the key from - refreshing that they left all the rooms and doors open without a single person to make sure no one came in and stole the TV or computer - shows how free of crime Turkey is! However we were wandering around the hotel for a long time before we found someone. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Overall a good budget hotel ideal for Ephesus which is almost walking distance if it isn't too hot.

This little hotel was so nice! Although most of the small staff there spoke very little English, we had no problems. The room had a heater and hot water which was very nice because it was cold, especially at night. The location was very good! We were off of the main street so it was nice, quiet, and no traffic noise. The location was great! It was right down the street from St. John's Basilica, good eating places, shops, and the bus station. Also, Ephesus, the temple of Artemis, and house of Virgin Mary were very close by a quick bus ride. We were provided a good breakfast, not a huge variety, but it was really good! I think what really made our experience great was how the main worker (I don't remember his name) helped us so early in the morning. We booked an airport shuttle to pick us up for 4:15 am, but they never showed. We had to wake him up at 5 am. He told us no problem at all, called us a taxi, and waited for it to show up. 10 seconds later when it showed, he talked to the driver making sure we weren't over charged and we got to the airport in plenty of time. Since we had paid 100 Lira to the tour company(same company we booked the shuttle from), he said that he would talk to the company and get that back for us. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone!

We booked an economy double room and the overall experience was negative. The bathroom was dirty and the toilet bowl hadnt been cleaned for ages. There was no hot water in the night and the following morning and the shower cubicle wouldnt drain. We spoke to other guests and this appeared to be a common occurrence. The mixed grill dinner was overpriced. The owner, who was multi-tasking as the manager and the cook, wasnt bothered. We checked out after one night and moved to another hotel.

Overall stay of 2 nights, just fair, room size very comfortable, clean room but no remote could be found for the television, hair dryer not working, not very organise during breakfast. First impression of the establishment not well kept, reception area dirty including the restaurant. The breakfast area as well not well maintained, surrounded by dead pot plants. Location is in old part of town about ten minutes walk to the bus otogar.

The rooms are below average- hotel 6 it's better quality. Beds sheets had blood stains, bathroom needs a gallon of Clorox -and floors need major vacuuming and mopping. I listened to the other reviews and stayed there really regret it- stay at Bella they provide transportation to and from all attractions

We felt that the staff went above and beyond to help us, as we were leaving super early for a flight and they wanted to make sure we had breakfast. Beautiful roof deck, and very good location for seeing Ephesus.

When you arrive at the Rebetika, check the exterior and walk into the lobby, you see a run down-looking hotel. But when you check in and go to your room, you see the hotel exterior appearance was completely deceiving and didn't reflect the overall great quality of the room. Then you walk upstairs and become awestruck by the beauty of the terrace and the 360-degree panoramic view of the surrounding monuments, the top tourist sights in town. The staff is also some of the best Turkish people I've met. Very helpful, reliable, trustable, friendly, make you feel at home, go out of their way to make you happy and satisfied.

This place was a great value, simple and yet very friendly staff. We were offered a free ride across town, and were treated very well. Its in a quiet area off the beaten path, but a quick safe walk to the center of town. The owner Sulemon (sp?) was great.

This is was our cosiest stay in Turkey. Large cosy rooms and good location next to the Citadel of Ayasoluk, 5 km from Ephesus, 8 km from beach. Super friendly hotel owner also runs a little carpet factory nearbay, so if you want to see how they are being made or you want to buy some for fair price just ask him for excursion. If you plan to stay around here, this is the place.
