Excellent base for touring this lovely area

Lovely stay. Breakfast beautiful. Room fine. Landing and walls could do with freshening up a little but rooms themselves were great! Lovely that extra bed was acailable so both children had their own bed- thank you! Beds a little hard but okay. Cant fault anything else. A great stay! Very helpful staff too

The room was fine but I had been looking for a king size bed not three beds! V little view and overlooked by log cabins on the hill.
The bed was fine but the pillows rock hard.
We ate in the restaurants and the food was poor. Burger was covered in burger sauce which I wasn’t expecting.
Lots of kids running around screaming which isn’t the fault of the hotel but made us stressed.
Likewise the rooms were not very soundproofed so I could hear doors slamming and kids screaming until late. There was also the sound of a boiler or similar all night.

We had a great trip. The hotel room for 5 was extremely spacious and it was so nice to stay right next door to the caves. We absolutely loved the caves. They were so big and the guided tour was great. The crazy golf was also great. Wells is only a 7 min drive and it is definitely a must. All in all a great stay with great value

Dining room wall lights had cobwebs up inside of shades, not sure it was sopposed to be for hallowen!!.
Must commend having TWO comforrable chairs, not had this in other places!! Also had a bathmat on request, well done.

We had a spacious room, with decent towels and plenty of t bags. Parking was easy. Breakfast was cooked to order and very nice. Overall a good stay for our one night near Wells.

Place to sleep - no ambiance but it served its purpose; decent breakfast; comfy beds. Needed a cheap hotel for the night and that's what we got. Tons of kids - kids park/activities onsite. Free parking which was easy and nice. Beds were really great - soft sheets, good pillows, bed was comfortable - we slept well. Juliet patio doors wouldn't stay shut; waste of energy/heat and cold sleeping with the bed near it. Spacious room - we had a triple I guess.

Perfect fir a stopover close to where we wanted to be.

Nice comfortable hotel stayed a few times when down this way

One night stop en route from Cornwall to the Midlands Perfect location to visit Wells too

If you are looking to hide away and have a quite night of rest this is a good place. It is a family hotel and from what I observed -is a great place to stay with kids.
I was here to work on some writing and it was pretty ideal. (I think Agatha Christie might approve.) You can go into Wells for wonderful food and enjoy the walks.
The staff here is truly lovely.

Nice spacious rooms. Quiet location. Food was good, but lack of lounge areas.

Stayed for 3 nights. Family room was very spacious. The room was clean and tidy. The room was very warm overnight so was given a fan to use. There is a games room in the hotel which was useful and fun! Staff were friendly. Food in the restaurant was excellent and very tasty. Large free car park so was easy to get a space right by the hotel. Great location for visiting Wookey Hole and the surrounding areas. Would stay here again!

Staff pleasant no issues however I opted for breakfast thinking location would have limited options. Not sure why i was expecting a 'nice' breakfast, but I was dissappointed. Im baffled and annoyed that chef / kitchen staff can look at a plate of inedible food and think its ok to give to guests. Bacon hard and obviously sat around a long time, sausages sat on solidifying bed of fat and never seen hashbrowns both overcooked and dripping in fat , absolutely disgusting. Why do they think its ok to feed people food like this, surely at least one member of staff recognises poor quality . Only items edible were beans, mushrooms and tomatoes. Give breakfast a miss!

Happy relaxed reception staff, very helpful. Food nicely cooked and presented. Good choice of foods. Enjoyed the place and area, we managed to book extra night. Children found the wookey hole experience exciting. And the magic show amazing.

The restaurant was very small. Breakfast was very limited in choice.

If you're visiting Wookey Hole caves/park, then this is a great stop over. A stones throw from the park entrance. We booked inclusive breakfast, but decided to have dinner too, both were excellent. Good size portions and very tasty, for breakfast there is a nice continental buffet selection with cooked breakfast also available. Staff were friendly and helpful. The small games room is all it is, with paying arcade machines, and a soft block part for tots.

Travelled with husband and 4yr old to visit Wookey Hole caves.
Great location and good staff. Room was clean. Bedroom resfresh (daily maid) topped up tea & coffee, changed towels and cleaned mugs, but didn’t make beds. Which was unexpected. Usually the crisply made bed is the best bit.
Room was smelly, but staff gave us an air freshener and tried to rectify. The linen and room itself though, was immaculately clean.
A bit noisy facing the car park, so had to shut windows while going to bed, which made the room hot and stuffy.
Would really benefit from air conditioning.
Breakfast was ok for the price of room. Not a lot of grown up cereal choices. Very good toaster which was fast. Cooked breakfast ok. Good for budget hotel. Mini pastries were good.
Awkward having to book breakfast before arrival, would be good to see more flexibity here.
Very much a family hotel. Expect kids running about from early until late (which made it noisy).
Overall a pleasent stay & good value for budget hotel, with excellent staff.

Stayed in the luxury family room, loads of space for the four of us. The restaurant was nice and fairly priced. Close to the main attractions which you get a discount for staying there. Overall a great place to stay

Lovely hotel in a great location, easily accessible and with plenty of parking. Staff were friendly and welcoming and able to accommodate our needs swiftly.
3.0
Easy parking and check-in, clean nice sized room but fairly basic ( Family) . Double bed comfy. Wi-Fi good.
Really fed up no hot water in the morning, apparently the boiler stopped working which was very annoying as no way to have shower. Engineers turned up quickly we saw them from the breakfast room, but time we checked out at 10am still no hot water.
No offer of a discount or reduction on a return visit, etc, we thought something could have been offered.
Check out at 10am too early! Breakfast very busy and slow service, thought they could be better organised.
"Games room" a let down as just a mini amusment arcade, thought could have a table tennis table, etc.
Pub over the road was expensive but good food. Food in hotel very basic menu designed for kids and "restaurant/ breakfast room" plain and basic - no atmosphere.
Overall a good quiet sleep and if passing-may return again, lots of nice countryside nearby and of course if you are visting Wookey Hole its on the site.

Did find our room hot with the extreme weather temp outside, even with the use of fans.
Would of been nice to of had a mini fridge in room.
Great location for the Wookey caves and Wednesday's circus which was amazing and the other local attractions.
Many thanks

Good budget family hotel. Comfortable beds, clean sheets and good size bathrooms. Breakfast choice very good but inconsistent in how it was served, i ordered the same breakfast 3 days running, on first day it was cold. Second day Breakfast was hot but the eggs were left out. Third day breakfast was lukewarm. Coffee was good and nice to have cheese and ham, fruit and yoghurts as well for breakfast.

On arrival we were told “we are very busy so cannot do evening meal and limited on timings for breakfast. We then went to our double room to find it was a disabled persons room

Business trip, all the staff were very friendly and professional. I would recommend

Lovely location. Kids loved the games room. Friendly staff. Housekeeping was a bit of a let down as we didnt get the room serviced even after speaking to reception. When they did show up they just walked into the room without knocking. Breakfast portions are large but not very good quality. Hotel could use aircon. You get what you pay for and with that in mind this was a pleasant place to stay.

The hotel was situated in a lovely part of Wells and great for visiting the Wookey Hole Caves. Upon arrival the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. We had a family room which was very spacious and clean. No fans or air conditioning so the rooms got very hot at night. Housekeeping is where the hotel is let down, it is practically nonexistent. They did come in and give you extra tea, coffee etc but never made the beds, just pulled the covers over like a teenager had made the bed, never wiped round the sink, toilet or bath, we kept it as clean as possible but without cleaning products it was hard to do. Not once put the hoover round and when you’re there for 7 nights it does need a quick going over. The continental breakfast was sparse, cooked breakfast was ok but when you don’t eat cooked breakfast it would have been nice to have a lot more continental choices, but it wasn’t a very big breakfast area to lay things out. I understand it’s a family hotel, we had a child with us, but some of the families did nothing to control their children at breakfast or dinner, running around screaming, shouting, throwing paper airplane’s while people are eating and staff are carrying hot plates. Staff were lovely but unfortunately won’t stay again.

Dispointing stay we have stayed few times and this was definitely the worst to the point we may not return, couldnt be seated as family in restaurant, bathroom smelt of damp cob webs all over room also the single bed was small junior camp bed with wafer thin matteress and then to top it all off my son was served raw chicken lucky my husband spotted it!!!!!
Lovely receptionist Diane was always helpful and a pleaure to talk to unlike some of the staff who where dam right rude and patronising

The hotel has a lovely feel about it, its our second time back as our children love it here so much! and no doubt we'll return again!
