So, we arrived after driving for 4 hours. We checked in, went to our room so we could change and hit the pool. When I went to put my backpack on the bed, I saw a stain. I looked closer and it was a poop stain in the white bed spread. I immediately went to the office to complain. They came and looked at it, went and got a new bed spread to put on. I asked them if they inspect the rooms before guests arrive, they just kinda smirked. When my wife asked if we get a deal or a refund, they smiled and said "no" and then left. The end table beside the bed was dusty. The a/c was so noisy it sounded like a train. So we ended up not using it and could not sleep as the room was so hot.
Overall, I would never stay there again. So disappointed.

This was a great property if your looking for that old time feel of a family vacations. We sat out and played cards by the pool. Would be a great place to take a family as parents can sit and relax and watch kids swim. Walking distance to beach and other amenities. Friendly staff and very accommodating. We changed our reservation two days prior to our stay and they staff was very helpful and understanding.

Riverside Motel was recommended by some friends who have been going to Penticton every year for the past 20 years (and they stay here each time). It’s a very family orientated place (lots of kids) with a swimming pool in the courtyard. In August there’s lots of Italians and Eastern Europeans.
In the evenings, everyone returns to cook dinner and socializes in the courtyard while the kids play in the pool. No smoking in rooms (even on the balcony). Also no smoking in the main courtyard. Things generally quiet down at 11pm when there are lots of families there in August.
Rooms are clean (air conditioning works but can be noisy), mine worked so well I would shut it off in the evening (especially if you stay on the ground level). Some rooms are more dated than others. Full kitchen and bathroom (I cooked everyday while I was there).
Staff is pleasant and helpful, and always cleaning outside the property everyday Housekeeping is also offered daily. Staff always asks if you need anything. And the staff is always on the property. Office is open until 9pm.
This place is a 3 minute walk to the beach, and also to the Penticton Chanel Float. Also short walking distance to Cobs, Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Liquor Store and Grocery and other amenities. And across the street from Locolanding Adventure Park.
I originally planned my trip from Aug. 18 to Aug. 24th but extended my stay at Riverside Motel until Aug. 30th when a room became available.
Will be back.

Check in was easy and friendly. We had a great time.

We stayed here for a day and we really enjoyed the newly renovated suites however, sound proofing may be an area to consider in the future.
We heard one of the long term residents screaming there was a bat or rat in her unit which was a little surprising.
The morning of our check out we were about to make coffee when we realized it passed its expiry date in mid July 2024.
Other than a few small details everything went well.

Perfect for the price paid.

It was clean and had good staff. The problem we had was a cigarettes smell coming out of the AC the first night and it was cold although out the night even with no AC. Walls are thin so you can hear everyone’s business.

It is a very old motel but it was very clean and the staff was exceptional. The pool was very busy but at 9:30 there was absolutely no noise.

Classic Penticton motel experience. Very close to the action with much more privacy. I've been visiting this property since 2006. It never disappoints.

The family room was great, the 2 bathrooms was great

Room renovated very nicely! The unit is just like 1BR apartment - one bed in an individual separate bedroom, one bed in a living room, and a full kitchen with all kitchen necessities. Very good location. Reasonable pricing. The negative things are there's no fan in the bathroom and both windows (patio/pool side and parking side) don't block outside noise at all...

Very kitchy, needed some love, paint... Our bikes were stolen off our locked rack, outside our door. Caution to all, parking is off alley way. Manager was very good, showed us the CCTV of the thief. Told us later we could have put them in the storage room, darn. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, had a deck with chairs facing the pool.

It was a great place to stay. Bed was ok and convenient location. Very community oriented for family’s. But it was just us two. Operators were accommodating and pleasant. Housekeeping didn’t leave new coffee packs. Had to ask for them. The kitchen needs some basic supplies. Salt and pepper sugar and creamer. But overall just fine.

Although it is a dated motel, it was generally comfortable. Room was small and furniture was old. Window air conditioner was noisy and didn’t cool the room as much as we wanted.

This motel is in a great location, walking distance to Lake Okanagan, Loco Landing (amusement park), Channel float, restaurants, SS Sicamous and more. Lots of room in our suite, may have enjoyed a small kitchen table with our kitchenette but loads of tables available on the patio. Friendly staff, cleaned our room daily. Will happily book again.

The toilet kept backing up and the plastic plunger wasn't adequate. Stayed two nights, but couldn't get coffee for the second night, noisy AC but the beds were comfortable

It was comfortable, close to the beach and had a pool, although the cleaning machine did not address the grime all around the edge. I requested a main floor unit as I have mobility challenges but was unable to get one.
There were several empty rooms on the main floor. I assume they were larger suites? Too bad an exception couldn’t be made. An elevator would help.

Booked a room with two queen beds for four large grown adults. When we showed up we had two doubles crammed together in a small “bedroom” the space between the beds made it almost as though we were all in the same bed. Me and my partner had to go sleep on the uncomfortable pull out couch. When asked about the queen beds the manager replied we gave you a bigger more expensive room with the pull out. I would have rather had a smaller room with larger beds. When I go on vacation me and my guests go to spend time with their partners not be forced to sleep in separate beds. The tv was also broken and the sound quality was shot. The speakers must have been blown so the tv was unusable for down time. The temp reached 37 annd the tiny air conditioner wasn’t even strong enough to make its way into the bedroom. Overall terrible customer service and room was beyond satisfactory. It’s unfortunate because the motel is in a pretty good location but after this experience I will not be going back next year.
