It is unfathomable that an entire hotel does not have television access for nearly a week. Apparently they do not routinely check the condition of equipment related to their TV access and weather took its toll, beyond just a single cable, but rather catastrophic failure such that spare parts were unavailable over a time scale that affected hundreds of clients over at least a 4-day period. In return, we received tickets for free drinks every evening, and that was appreciated. But for a hotel to lose complete access to TV over the US election period was a hardship for many. Two persons at the front desk tried to tell me that the fog caused the TV failure -- obviously they have no background in science. The hotel should have been truthful from the start. Yes, the weather was involved and yes the sun eventually rotted their equipment, but that's why such equipment should be routinely checked and replaced. That is how catastrophic failures are avoided.

Clean and well kept room, not far from the Grand Place but quieter. The only complaint I had was over the shampoo/soap combo and lack of conditioner and lotion.

I’d like to have given more higher rating but there’s a few points missing. 1) no tea or coffee making facilities in room 2) no room service option 3) breakfast payment is not available as an as in upon checkout

We arrived by train so the location 15/20 minutes from Central station was good. However the hotel is uphill from the station not so good when wheeling cases over cobbled surfaces! Staff we met were all very friendly and efficient. The room was the smallest we had during our trip around Belgium and Holland( we stayed in 5 different hotels) and also the most expensive. Unlike all the other hotels it did not provide tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Given this I would have expected free coffee/tea in the hotel lobby but none was provided. The room itself was very clean, bathroom although small was spotless. Breakfast was very good, a cold selection of meats, cheeses etc. There were no hot choices, Given that breakfast was charged extra (16.50 euros pp per day) this only increased the overall cost when compared to other hotels we stayed in. Location was very good only 15 mins from Grand Place and Cathedral. We had a room overlooking a lovely garden courtyard where you could enjoy a drink after a long day of sightseeing. Overall a pleasant stay, there may be other hotels in Brussels that may offer better value.
