I have somewhat mixed feelings between an average and good review. Let's start with the positives. One of the highlights for me was the hotel's location. Everything essential was within immediate reach: the beach, the ferry, and many good restaurants. The hotel provided complimentary beach towels that could be exchanged every two days, which was a nice touch. Additionally, the room amenities were satisfactory.
However, there were certain aspects that left much to be desired. One major issue was the presence of ants in the room, crawling around on the walls and floor. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the bed linens seemed questionable. The hot water supply was inconsistent, and at times, barely available, resulting in lukewarm to cold showers.
Overall, I would rate the hotel a maximum of 3.5 stars. While the location and some amenities were commendable, the issues with cleanliness, pests, and hot water supply detracted from the overall experience.

We enjoyed our week stay at this hotel. Our room was small but the shower was nice, plenty of hot water, mini fridge and AC. The hallway table and chairs allowed us to play cards and enjoy a drink with other guests. The main level had a large kitchen and dining area to enjoy a simple breakfast. Coffee is provided in the morning. We stored our fruit, juices and groceries in our room fridge and assembled our breakfast in the communal dining room. Beach chairs, beach umbrellas and beach towels w/ deposit are available on a first come / first serve basis. The hotel is very popular with expats. The location is central and within walking distance to both beaches. Staff is friendly and accommodating. I hear that the rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor are better than on the main level. The Suites have a mini kitchen and more windows.

Extremely noisy around the property. Next to a busy street. Sounds in the hotel carry too much.

I saw the room and it was disgusting. Tiny it smelled and the the bed was about 5’ long.
I’ve seen better abandoned buildings

We've stayed there a few times and always enjoyed everything. So friendly and clean. Only a brief walk to our favorite beach.

The hotel's location is central but quiet. The suite was clean and comfortable. The wifi on our floor did not work on the first evening of our three-night stay, but functioned without problems afterwards.

We like our stay, the room was in a good state, clean every day, service personnel are nice and friendly.
Because of the carnival peroid, the noise was loud even after 24h00. But after the end of the canival the night were quiet. We will come back next year.

The room was a bit small but was very clean. The best water pressure in the shower! Loved that the big windows opened for fresh air. Appreciated the use of the Beach chairs! Would stay there again.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. It had everything I could possibly need. Affordable price, WiFi, Clean Room, Towels, Hot Water, Friendly Staff, and located right next to the beach. Very calm and local vibe. I would rather stay here over an expensive all inclusive resort any day of the week.

A sweet and quiet hotel! Close to the beach and restaurants and shopping! This was my fourth time there and if you want a reasonably priced hotel and don’t need a bunch of frills and just want to enjoy the island then this if your place!

Basic but priced well.

Hotel is located on the quiet side of downtown and one block from the east beach. It's a bit noisy when people are socializing in the common spaces downstairs, but the youth hostel amenities make up for that. Love the chairs you can take to the beach and bring back and common space kitchen. We'd come back here for sure.

Wifi is good on the first floor but gets weaker as you go up. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the third floor terrace (there is one table with two chairs) with the view of the turquoise ocean in a distance. Full size fridge and stove top make it ideal for longer stay.
However, every time we entered our senior suite we were confronted with a strong musty smell, definitely from the damp wooden cabinets. Few small cockroaches in the bathroom, not surprised as this seems like a common issue on the island. Few mosquitoes in the room, I suspected I got bitten by something inside the room or on my bed that swelled up really big.

Cheap little hotel. Nothing special, very close to everything. Staff super friendly. Small issue with hot water, but we didn't complain. Highly recommend if your on a budget. Manager re programmed our tv to get english.

Great location, close to restaurants, and Playa Norte. Nice room, and services like free beach towels and seats.

Looked clean until they sprayed bug spray to kill some ants and 3 roaches ran out and died.. I complained and was told nothing can be done it’s just how it is on the island, then they refused to refund the 3 remaining nights, so I booked somewhere else and left and lost the money I paid for the other nights.. glad they got paid 4 Nights for me staying 1 night. They need to get rid of the roaches and the lady at the front desk who thinks roaches in a hotel is OK..

room is decent and clean looking .. good location 10 min walk to the beach .. had ants in the room ask them to spray, after he sprayed bug spray roaches started coming out in all I saw 3 or 4.. 3 of them died I have a pic of the dead ones.. when i complained they offered nothing not even a sorry and I was told it’s just the way it is on the island, then finally she offered a new room .. it was the same exact room right next door .. Not good enough I told them I wanted a refund for remaining 3 days on my booking in which they refused telling me I have to call hotels.com which was impossible cause of corona virus, i showed the owner the pics and asked for a refund on remaining nights he declined, then I asked him to come to my room at which point he offered a nicer upgraded room.. the lady seemed uninterested and like it wasn’t a big a deal at all .. I left with 3 days paid and not refunded and booked another place for next 3 days

Upon arrival at the hotel we had a friendly greeting right away and our reservation was waiting for us. Check-in was great! Given the key to our room and we walked up the stairs to find it. Walking into our room our first impression was wow is it clean! The shower was great and so nice and bright in there. Nice and bright room overall but because the windows face out to the open areas where other rooms are we kept some blinds closed for privacy. The hotel itself is partially open to the outside on each floor which makes it feel open and airy. Noise does travel and we didn't hear much from outside but more from other guests at night if they were talking loudly while sitting outside their rooms. Nice place to stay and close to walk to the main street and the beautiful beach.

it was a very small hotel, no pool, had to walk couple blocks to the ocean, but that’s was ok for us! The only noise was the ruid guest that drink til 1 morning, otherwise no street noise. Very friendly staff and cheap to stay. And clean

Nice little hotel with a great price. Nothing over the top but comfortable and in a great location. Near everything, but not so near it was noisy at night. Plus there was hot water!

We came back to our room one of the days and the housekeeper was on the phone on our beds clearly in the middle of cleaning our room. It didnt look or sound like an emergency she was laughing and just hanging out pretty much. Seemed a little unprofessional in my opinion. Other than that, it was a really great hotel. Really wish the front desk had a map or some recommendations for us as well. But I mean we explored as much as we could during our time there.

It's a very clean hotel in a great location. I shared a standard room with my mom and it was too small, and the window was facing the hallway and not outside. I would go there again but choose a bigger room with an outside window. Otherwise it was a nice little hotel.

Fabulous hotel w a modern clean & quiet room. Good value. Nice to have a safe & fridge. Down sides include need new pillows, toilets don’t flush well, & hot water only lasts 5 minutes so no long showers. Nice staff.

Great room, and location on the island is perfect. The staff will do whatever they can to make your stay more enjoyable. The bed is very firm and I prefer a softer kind. But that’s just a personal opinion.

The front desk manager was very easy to work with and helpful in answering any questions. The room was very clean and a noise issue from one group of visitors was dealt with quickly and fairly. Staff were all very good.
