This has got to be one of the best hostel experiences I’ve ever had! And at a great price! Comfy bed, clean bathrooms, friendly staff, great location! Good internet connection too.
4.3
For the price you pay the accommodations are good.

I opted to stay here to save a little bit of money. It's a clean hostel. The shared bathroom was clean, nothing smelled, and there was nothing obnoxiously loud at night to keep you up. The linens were clean, beds were comfortable, staff was nice, and facilities were good. All the main stuff, including mass transit, was in walking distance. Everything you need. It's a good place.

It has a great location, unfortunately the building is really old tho in acceptable conditions. The wifi doesn’t work well and room could have been colder.

Great location. Spacious room.

Location is great and reception is excellent. Kitchen is clean

Well thought out hostel.
4.3
Close to most historical sites.

Overall decent location… its a hostel so don’t go in with high expectations, but I wasn’t expecting a bunk bed since I didn’t choose that and a little pricey for a hostel in my opinion!
4.3
Fantastic staff. Clean and safe. Provides fresh towels and lockers. Will need to buy a padlock if you don’t have one, they’re $6 from the vending machine inside the building.
4.3
They provide clean face towels every day. The kitchen is cleaned every day.
4.3
The front desk personnel were excellent!

Place is not bad. It's a good place to stay, and the one thing that bothers me a little bit is a stairs. I can barely squeeze and pull in my luggage up one flight of stairs. The hostels is good place to stay in case there's special events or occasions.

Are you that shy timid solo traveller unsure how your first hostel experience would be? This place will be fine. It’s clean and safe. You’ll be fine. Bring a lock for your locker :)

Nice and cozy. Great facility!

This is a hostel. That being said, know what you are signing up for. I love the feel of community, that I could cook for myself, and that I was not paying $300 for a room that I would have been in only to sleep.
The staff was friendly, helpful, and respectful. If I didn’t give them a 5 on the previous page, I should have.
I would go back again if coming to Philadelphia in the future. Ironically this was a better experience than the convention center I stayed in 2 weeks ago.

Is going on good price!

Unique -- close to historical monuments and sites, the hostel itself is part of the old city. Relaxed and laid back, great kitchen and great internet. The ghost tour and evening activities were also good if that's something you would like. It might be a little crowded in summer, but in winter it was just about perfect.

Everyone was super friendly and the room and common areas were well kept.

I really liked Apple Hostels and would stay there again. There's a few minor "quirks" like with most hostels. For instance, they hand you your sheets/pillowcase/towel to take to your room and put on yourself, maybe this is for cost savings, but it's a bit odd.
Otherwise the room was great/clean. We wanted it a bit cooler and a simple request at the front desk took care of it. The main room to hangout is very nice and well used.
We arrived late at night and the walk through the alleyway to get to the entrance was a little interesting. Probably would recommend going around the block to the east and entering the alleyway from the south.
Would stay again though, for sure. All issues were minor at best and we enjoyed our stay.

cheap price, free drink night

I paid for 3 weeks and went thru the trouble of getting a friend to send me the current ID of me from SC only for in less than a week I made a phone call to the main desk telling them that I think I am being electronically magnetic surveillance and it’s coming from the room above mine. 15 minutes later the desk clerk opened the door to my room telling me I had to leave. I keep being monitored by unlawful electronic magnetic surveillance for decades whether in my own homes, hotel, motels, hostels or outdoors without a place to live and Apple Hostel allowed cops to abuse me by electronic magnetic surveillance and it happened in 2014 also.

As a solo traveller, this hostel was perfect! Great facilities, the dorm was very clean, and there are nightly events to give you a chance to meet other travellers.
4.3
Awesome as usual, will be back next year!!!

My stay was nice. Hostel offers many amenities. I would suggest cleaning the ladies bathroom and shower area more throughout the day. Hair was everywhere
