Location, staff and room layout were all fantastic.
Unfortunately, cleanliness, particularly in the bathroom let it down somewhat.
Definitely worth a return following a deep clean.

Short one night stay. Served its purpose. All staff were helpful and friendly. Bed not too comfortable.
3.8
It’s close to the busy areas
3.8
Perfect location. Staff very helpful. Very noisey though but suppose its to be expected being by the sea front, earplugs are provides. Rooms were clean enough, very spacious.

Awful

Staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable.

Excellent location for walking along beach.Hotel staff very friendly, not the place to stay if you want a quiet relaxing day, but brilliant atmosphere in bar/restaurant if you want a night out. The hotel breakfast is very tasty and worth the price.

Our room which was on the small size but quite adequate, was at the front of the hotel with a lovely view of the sea front.
The fact they supplied you with earplugs was slightly concerning and actually you DID need them !!! You’re in a city by a main road so this is to be expected I’m sure the back rooms were much quieter !
The only real down side was our very uncomfortably mattress, it’s certainly time they changed it it’s well past it’s sell by date !
3.8
Very central comfortable hotel…..slightly old fashioned but a lovely bright room with sea view and a nice bathroom.
Perfect to enjoy vibrant Brighton.

Room had some view. Small. Good value. One issue was the water pressure. Very weak.

Hotel and bar staff absolutely lovely really couldn’t do enough for you so friendly felt like we had stayed there lots of times can not wait to go back xxx

No parking, and the clerk didn't seem to care. He said just drive around and around until you find somewhere to park. Old, and dirty. Didn't really feel safe. I would never recommend this hotel......ever!
3.8
Would have been fine if proper enclosed shower and parking is guaranteed after paying £8 and spent 1 hr attempting to find parking. Ended up paying £30 pounds as guaranteed parking in the garage. Asked for return on paid coupon they refused to refund . Have 2 wait for the manager in the morning
3.8
Room was not soundproof at all. We could hear everything from the bar below and there must have been a party going on in the room above us, because there were loud banging noises well into 4 in the morning. Terrible sleep. The location of the hotel itself was good, and that was about it.
3.8
Really enjoyed our stay at the Amsterdam Hotel. The room was great - loved the complimentary earplugs, even though we didn't need them. Great location, just across from the pier. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful, which just enhanced our weekend in Brighton. We'll definitely be back, loved it!
3.8
Just love the customer care and courtesy from staff in both hotel and bar
3.8
Great view from the window, but that was the only highlight. Ignore the parking available tag, there is no parking. Street parking is permit only and the nearest car park adds £38.20 per day to your stay. The hotel looked tired and sits on top of a cabaret bar. Bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom claustrophobic, expect burns if the heater is on when using the facilities.

Room we were given (room12) was right above a bar with loud music playing until 01:30 . There is a nightclub next door which is open until 5am but we didn’t hear anything from the club but think the rooms closer May well have . The room was clean and tidy and if we were younger we would have been in the pub so would have been an issue
It would be a good idea to inform guests on arrival and the ones that would be kept awake to be moved to rooms further away as there isn’t anything on website informing you of the noise
3.8
Nice welcome, good room with perfect view of pier, no real traffic or city noise and plenty of tea and coffee and milk! Happily stay again!
3.8
A little noisy in the evening but to be expected with a nightclub on the ground floor.
3.8
Comfortable bed , lovely sea view
Right above bar so was very noisy ( avoided choosing the rooms which mentioned the noise when booking )
Windows didn’t shut properly so a lot of road noise as well
Ok for a one night stay , or if you can sleep through easily !
3.8
Room with sea view very good. Limited breakfast choice, but good price(pity not included. Guests might like to know the bar entertainment is drag queens.
3.8
A lovely hotel...very clean, bright and airy room. Friendly staff and a great location. The hotel is attached to a Bar and music does go on til the early hours but this can only be expected in the centre of Brighton! Would def stay here again
3.8
Great. If I go back to Brighton I will stay there again.
Quiet but within a short walking distance to restaurants, pubs etc. And right by the sea
3.8
The hotel is situated perfectly, close to the lanes. Staff were very friendly. The bed was so comfortable! Very clean and tidy.
It is noisy at night, as you are above a very lively bar, but it didn’t bother us too much.
3.8
Way too noisy, and very out dated pictures used to advertise it. Wouldnt saty again and wouldnt recommend. On the plus side though, the staff were great and it was clean
3.8
marked down as only decaf coffee available in room. had excellent reception service.
3.8
Very helpful and friendly staff in the reception.
The hotel location is also great
3.8
Great location to visit the pier. Parking is difficult everywhere in this area. Hotel is showing it's age. Bar was lively with alternative entertainment. Breakfast was terrible, don't waste your time with it.
3.8
The location was great , and the parking permits were good value .
3.8
The room was clean but very cold, heating did not work. Staff friendly on check in and check out
3.8
Bad room service
No towels in room on checking in
No toiletries replenished daily
No condement replenishment daily
No bed making daily or fresh bed linen
3.8
Location could not be better, sea front opposite The Pier only a few minuets walk from The Lanes and Royal Pavilion. Pre paid parking at £8/day is terrific value for Brighton. Friendly, fun staff and sea front room spotlessly clean. Saturday afternoon cabaret was a hoot!
3.8
The hotel met our needs attending an evening wedding. More cleaning attention needed in bathroom, didn’t say anything as not on 4 in a bed, sorted myself as needed to get ready. Check in chap was very friendly and informative. Ear plugs a very good shout.
3.8
Very noisy. Booked a room supposedly away from the very noisy bar area but were given one right on top of it. Room was hot and stuffy but noise meant we couldn't open the window. No aircon so we tried using the fan left in the wardrobe but it was filthy and filled the room with clumps of dust! Bathroom also dirty. The guy on the front desk did his best but had no other rooms. This is not a hotel for sleeping in! Really poor.
3.8
Lovely hotel, great situation and within walking distance of most Brighton attractions.

Staying at the Amsterdam hotel was lovely. the check-in at the reception was great and the gentleman processing our reservation was very professional and pleasant, we also received an upgrade in our room which very nice, clean and spacious and rather quiet considering where the room was located on the third floor. but my overall stay at the Amsterdam was great and i would certainly stay there again.
3.8
Really disappointed
3.8
So close to the water! Friendly staff and close to attractions and pubs.
3.8
Location is great; close to the beach, the pier and a lot of gay pubs and bars.
Service could definitely improve. The room is low standard, but ok.
One could wonder if there's a shortage of toilet paper??? We had less than half a roll in our room and when asking for more we got one roll that was almost already finished. When asking for more we were told they didn't have any full rolls. Later on we got a package of four rolls when asking for it in the reception. But then the cleaning staff took back two of them...
