Amy and Jeff were wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were delicious and the other guests made the mornings so very pleasant. The inn was charming warm and comfortable. I loved my stay.

Delightful experience. Beautifull home, wonderful hosts, great breakfast. Short walk to good restaurants. Easy drive to Gilmore Museum in Hickory Corners.

It’s a charming old house. Contactless, keyless entry and checkin. Nice neighborhood, a short walk through a park to my conference.
Everything worked as described.
It felt odd not to see anyone working there but we had everything we needed.

Amazing from the first step inside this victorian beauty, greeted by Amy and Jeff and given the tour of the first floor and amenities available 24/7 for small fridge, wet bar, coffee and tea. Great location, easy free parking, very close to downtown..we drove but could have walked the 3 or 4 blocks, excellent home made hot breakfast in mornings. Just a lovely experience, and room super comfy. The stairs are steep and railing on one side, so careful up and down but this is mentioned in other reviews. Alot of care and planning from the owners for guest satisfaction. Unique one of a million places to try while visiting "the Zoo".

We had a fabulous stay for 2 nights/3 days. Great proximity to the downtown (maybe a 10 minute walk to the downtown restaurants we chose). We got both kinds of breakfast -- table service and a take-away bag. It was delicious. We would absolutely stay again. Thank you!

Super cute historic house turned Bed & Breakfast. Outstanding breakfast (just wish the portion was a little bigger).
But here’s where the charm was over-shadowed: each room has an Amazon Echo Show (mind you these CAN have cameras activated on them. -2stars). The purpose: virtual concierge - you know, something to ask about the area and get recommendations. My thoughts: most of us carry the internet in our pockets already. Ditch the modernization of an Echo and lose the optics of a possible camera in the room. Besides the B&B already has a well-composed and cute “recommendations” board down stairs.
In keeping inline with old-world charm, the room had an old-school spring core mattress that was neither comfortable nor restful when sleeping with another human. For over $300/night, please give me a better mattress (-1star).
Lastly, they have self-serve beverage fridge and coffee/tea stations on each floor (very thoughtful) but they were depleted, unfortunately.
As a bonus: the owners greeted us when we arrived. Turns out our room was on the 3rd floor up very steep and narrow stairs (no elevator because it’s a historic house. I get it). It would’ve been a nice touch to offer to carry up our bags. We wouldn’t have burdened them but it might be needed by other guests (and the consideration would’ve garnered a higher rating).
Would we come back to Kalamazoo House? Ultimately, no. For over $300/night I want more comfort and privacy (ditch the Echo Show, upgrade the beds).

Beautiful Victorian. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Room was quiet and comfortable. Third floor rooms are at the top of a steep staircase, but worth the climb. Breakfast was excellent. We will stay here next time we are in town

We had a FABULOUS time at the Kalamazoo House (Detroit Room) while we were in Kalamazoo on a short overnight getaway. The accommodations were great. Our room was cozy. The breakfast was exquisite. We would LOVE to book again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Kalamazoo House. The room was fantastic - large, private and the bathroom had an amazing jetted tub that was big enough for two. There were many thoughtful touches that showed the owners really put a lot of thought into what gusts would want. We appreciated the complimentary drinks (coffee, soda, tea, seltzer water, etc) that were available, and the breakfast was delicious! The morning we left it was either pancakes or a veggie frittata with a side of bacon or sausage. We opted for the frittata and were not disappointed. We were also served a tasty banana and granola parfait, juice and coffee. The hosts were extremely friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them, especially about the Christmas decorations that they were putting up in the house. The location was convenient to shopping and restaurants and is literally right next door to the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. The next time we stay in K’zoo, we’ll certainly be staying at the Kalamazoo House.

Amy provided the absolute best care and service. I was in town for a wedding, but I loved the Kalamazoo House so much, I’d return just because it was that wonderful! Nightly personalized treats, wonderful breakfast, very clean, and it just felt like home!

Food was great and the third floor king bed and room were very nice. House very unique and located near downtown and a lot of activities. No elevator and while the stairs are safe, the second to third floor are steep especially when carrying luggage. While an older guest, we still enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

My daughter and I was here for the Mac n cheese festival here in Kalamazoo! Amy and Jeff are the nicest people SUPER friendly. But one of the best parts we enjoyed was Snowy, their dog. What a sweet girl! We stayed in Room #5 and it was clean and the bed was really comfy. We took advantage of the board games they had to end our night. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The house and room were very nice. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were good about accommodating food allergies. The check in experience was not good. There were different times listed for what was the check in period. Also the email with the door code hadn't come by the time we got there. After several unanswered calls and a text, the email was sent with the door code. Overall it is a very nice place and I would stay again.

The decor on the outside was lovely, well cared for and had gorgeous landscaping. A little on the expensive side after fees and taxes. The main dining area was sparse and dreary but the Detroit room #8 was very cute and cozy. I don't recommend carrying heavy luggage up 3 flights to the top floor given the narrow stairways. Check-in was easy with the door code. Upon entry, we were greeted with yummy cookies and a place write down breakfast choices. The sheets, towels and robe were super soft. The bed - NOT so great. Very hard and uncomfortable. The bed pad sounded like rubber and made noise with every move so I couldn't sleep. The air was very dry and not fresh so my eyes watered and I was coughing throughout the night. The faux fireplace was a lovely touch and the room was very clean. The shower handles were almost dysfunctional and from the 70's but water was warm with good pressure. The owner was a wonderful women full of great stories about the house's history and they had a very sweet doggie on the premise. I had the pumpkin French toast and veggie patty which was dry and cold. I guess you have to get up early to get it fresh and warm. The food cried out for a garnish of fruit or something. My husband had the eggs benedict which he said was very good. Kalamazoo is a ghost town at night so not many places were open to eat dinner. We ended up going to a local bar which was OK. Overall, we liked it enough to stay there again in the future.

Kalamazoo House is very nice bed & breakfast with attention to detail. It was a great location considering our purpose for being in the area was a concert at Kalamazoo State Theater…which ch was walking distance. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was a really nice departure from typical breakfasts at chain hotels. Our mattress was definitely not as comfy as home but otherwise, it was a great stay.
