Perfect location. We could walk to everything! Our room was immaculate an the staff was very friendly. We would definitely stay there again on our next trip to St Augustine.

The instructions warned us the parking lot was small, but it was a nightmare to navigate! Both nights, the entrance & exit to the lot was blocked by cars! The worst part for us, all the rooms next to us had dogs! There was barking all night long, off/on. Someone had a barking dog on the balcony for a long time around 2 am. We didn’t get any sleep at all the 2nd night. Also, those were truly the most uncomfortable beds we’d ever slept in! I do not think we will ever stay here, again, especially since there were sooooo many dogs!!

Friendly, welcoming, helpful front desk staff. Housekeeping staff is friendly, accommodating, non-intrusive. Convenient location, perfect for harbor views, ample parking, and easy walking distance to everything. Comfortable room, large walk-in shower and NO street noise; very quiet! "Motor lodge" is a total misnomer; this is a wonderful hotel!

It is a historic motor inn that has made an honest effort at modernizing the rooms. It is a great location, free parking, cheerful staff, just fine rooms, decent price, a balcony facing the water, and not much road noise. Likely one spends 45 minutes in their room when not sleeping---so it's just perfect!

It was Spring Break and I expected the high rate. Especially for this location (it was perfectly located). But I will say that the penny I spent could definitely help the hotel afford better mattresses. Rooms were small (expected for an older property) but nicely updated and clean. Pool was clean and property seems well maintained for the most part. Only issue was the mattress. I felt like I was sleeping on the floor with springs poking me in the side. I’m usually not very picky here but this was the worst mattress I’ve slept on in years and I’m struggling with the $299/night for a single queen room price tag still after how my body feels the next morning. I’m in my 30s and woke up every hour to toss and turn in pain. To hotel: please spend money to update the mattresses and pillows, your guests will appreciate it!

The moment I walked in I was greeted by Karen. She was very pleasant. I was checked in with no problem. The room was very clean and smelled nice. The hotel was on the water and close to everything. I loved it so much I stayed another night.

Toilet is squeezed between shower glass and wall. Reservation pic of my room showed 2 armchairs but actually had two armless dining rm chairs. Floor was not clean - wore socks in rm and they got dirty!

When we arrived we were told room would he ready in an hour. Which was no issue as we came early as parking opened at 1pm. They fave us room tag for car. We went to dinner came back and were told oh we had to switch you rooms some one else needed their room ready faster and you were gone. No issue....until we walked in room. It was never cleaned. Hair was all over sink, counter, and shower. Towels were folded and dirty as well as pillow cases. All soaps and lotion dispensers were empty and 2 tissues were stuffed in box to look full. Also they had double parked 2 cars behind our vehicle so we couldnt get out. Went to alert front desk only to be told its her car and where do we want her to park then? Wait what?! You are asking the guest where you should park?? Then the front door auto lock is beoken to room. No need for a room key just walk in and out as you or anyone else pleases 😆😆 the beds are hard as a rock and you will wake up uncomfortable and wishing for your bed at home! For 379 a night stay elsewhere.

This isn't our first trip to St Augustine, but this was our first time staying at this hotel. The location is amazing. We walked practically everywhere which is really important because parking in st Augustine is scarce. It was newly remodeled which looked really nice. The beds were a bit hard even though I prefer a firm bed. Everything was clean and housekeeping came by daily. Check in and check out was so easy. Thank you for making our stay pleasant!

Location, location, location.

Terrible value for money for such an old 50s-style motel. The room had so much deodorizer spray that we had to open the door and windows, and the best the front desk could do was get us a noisy fan to place in the open door. Terrible night's sleep. The bed was fine but the bed frame had pointed corners that protruded out beyond the mattress -- and easy to hit your shins!! Not nice! There was no food available on the premises, but restaurants were nearby. The only real positive was that we could park the car immediately outside the room. I would not recommend this place.

Parking is tough - not enough spaces for the number of rooms - but owner IS very upfront about it. We felt bathroom - shower specifically - could have been cleaner. Areas of mold just need a shot of bleach. Room itself was very spacious. Lots of storage, comfortable sitting area in room. Comfy bed, lots of pillows. Desk staff was VERY helpful!! Love that there are written recommendations and directions to local breakfast places! Would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to others!

The room was fine for one night. It definitely isn’t worth $200 a night. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everybody in other rooms moving around or shutting a door. We brought our cats with us due to our a/c being fixed in our home and the rooms really aren’t pet friendly. One of my cats got stuck inside the bedframe, so that was a nightmare trying to get him out. Also, the room looks clean from a distance but once you start looking around, there was dust and dirt all over. There’s a crawl space under the bed and there was so much dust. I did enjoy the bathroom however, it was updated and very nice! The bed was comfy too. All in all, it wasn’t terrible.

Nothing like in the photos, which are apparently very carefully staged. My view was of a staircase, walls were cracked with chipped paint, rust on many of the bathroom fixtures, burnt out light bulb, and shower so small I could barely turn around. Could hear every step the people in the room above me took. The door would only lock about half the time when I left. If not paying attention I think you could spend a whole day out with the room unlocked. Would have to fiddle with to get it to lock. Something was wrong with the air conditioning because the room would cool but be super humid. In Florida, I had to open the door and windows to get the humidity out!! Overall, probably worth putting up with for a third of the price, but not what they are charging. I did ask for a new room when I saw the condition but was told no other rooms were available. Great location though if you can get it at a price that reflects the condition.

Super cute hotel! Rooms are very nice. The Historic area is an easy walk. Would definitely recommend the Marion!

Good place to stay in town if you intend on walking. Rooms have been updated but have a poor design with the ac unit blowing into a closet wall and returning the cold air back into its self. It had been hot out we would have had a bigger issue.

This was the cheapest option in town at short notice so with that in mind our experience was ok for one night. The room was musty and the floors felt sticky. The shower didn’t drain, which we reported and apparently will be addressed. Despite that the welcome was friendly, the location is great for exploring St Augustine, and we all slept well.

air cleaner filter was filthy.. I had to wash several times.. heavy perfume smell in the room.. No soap in shower and soap dispenser was broken… dirty wash cloths on the shower rail.. Overall very careless…

Location is fantastic!

I liked that it was close to the historic district and the walkability. I did not like that it was relatively noisy with folks upstairs, being backed on to an alley. The bathroom window did not close tightly which allowed noise from the alley to come through. The staff were great! We didn't really have anything to complain about to them since they would not be able to help with the outside noise issues, nor the folks upstairs walking around. They do not have carpet, and I assume that is why more sound carries through.

You can’t beat the location. Old school motel right across from the marina. Close to restaurants, shops. Once you park it’s an easy walk to anything. This was our second stay and we’d stay again. That being said, there are a few basics that could use attention. The towels need an update and upgrade. They’re worn and dingy, but clean. The bathroom could use a deep clean (grout, corners) and the TV in our room didn’t seem to work (no big deal but…). There’s some flashy stuff (smart mirror, blue lighting in the bathroom) but the basics could use some attention.

Great hotel. Close to St. George St, so you can park your car and walk or take the trolly. There is a trolly stop very close. The rooms are very modern. The only complaint we had was that the beds are very hard. Very quiet.

It is a terrific property if you want to see the historic district of St Augustine. Everything is within walking distance. Great restaurants and bars! Terrific view of the marina. Very nice area to sit outside and watch the boats/marina. It’s an old motor lodge, but has been nicely updated! Miss these old lodges, where you park your car outside your door!

The location is perfect, we had a 2nd floor room with views of the Lion bridge and Matanzas river was excellent. The seating area on the 2nd floor also offers good people watching but each room has a couple of seats outside. Rooms are spacious and have all been refurbished. We stayed two nights. Great restaurants all easy walking distance. Staff were fantastic especially Jerry.

Great location. Great price. Beautiful rooms, I was pleasantly surprised.
