Even dealing with potential hurricane weather events, our stay was great! Staff is friendly, and helpful. The site is very convenient for shopping good and fun!

Good beach. Needs more and better food options. Luao not worth it.
4.3
Nice place and good service. Restaurant has limited choices and food average.
4.3
The pools were amazing! Water slide for the kids. Easy walk to a beautiful beach with a boardwalk and nature signs.
4.3
Great pool for lap swimming and easy access to beach. Food was passable but not great.
4.3
we enjoyed the two room suite and the kitchenette.
kids love the pools

Great stay. Beautiful new facilities. Nice pool. Beach is a bit disappointing. I was stung by a sea urchen and found out later that this is a particular problem on their beach. They should add signs warning people. Only other negative was to find that our reservation did not include housekeeping. We were surprised that this had not been highlighted in the initial reservation.

My faimly had a great time there. The pool is amazing

We booked Marriott's Waikoloa Ocean Club for the last day of our family vacation, 11/20. Our kids had been begging to go because of the water slide.
First thing my daughter wanted to do was go down the slide. We went up & were told that a group of adults were in the middle of a race so she would have to work into their rotation if she wanted to go down. I tried to ask the slide attendant but he wouldnt respond to me or even acknowledge I was speaking. She did get to go later on and enjoyed it.
My son was 1" too short but we noticed kids much shorter going so we took him up & they let him go 3 times before saying he was too short. Literally while we were being told he was too short a shorter kid walked past and was allowed to go. When I asked why he was allowed I was told that "his parents were part of the earlier race" and that "he had been swim tested." I was told my kid wasnt swim tested because he had a life vest on. He wore a life vest as a secondary precaution since he would be going down the slide alone.
I went into the front desk to speak to a manager and was told they were in a meeting and would call me back which they never did. I emailed after we were home & got a response several days later that basically justified the race.
On another note, you are not able to write a review for this facility unless you receive a survey asking you to do so. I would guess that is how they maintain their review level.

It was a beautiful property! Room is clean and spacious, everything we needed was there.

Great!!

This property is fantastic and my family and I had a great time! The staff was welcoming and they had a lot of activities available. The pools are very clean, and being that it looks over Waikoloa Beach, it's a beautiful view. The beach itself is very close and walkable, and it was great fun to hop down to the beach and up to the pool for some reasonably priced food.

Great stay. Amazing layout. Very relaxing
4.3
There was not enough food choices onsite or nearby, making for a difficult experience.

Beautiful hotel and beach

Honestly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. We stayed here 12 years ago before it was redone and the new version was ten times better. The property is breathtakingly beautiful with new pools and an open lobby where you see the pools and the sea. The hotel has a beach in the front with great service to set up umbrellas and chairs for you. There is a lawn just behind the beach where they have events (movie night for the kids was amazing).
Service was outstanding. We came during Covid and all the rules were followed (very clean). We were surprised that Hawaii was so busy even with Covid restrictions. The concierge really helped us get last minute dinner reservations and even got us a last minute spot at their on site luau (two days a week).
The room construction is new and feels modern and up to date; we had the ocean view. Beds were super comfortable. The bathroom has some features that might be more popular with the 20 something crowd like a window into the bathtub but don't worry it can be covered.
Overall you can't go wrong with this hotel if you are willing to pay for it.

Beautiful design on a secluded beach. The staff was wonderful

Personal doesn’t really care about the clients... their smiles are not true. A lot of facilities are « out of order » and I did not see anybody taking care about that. The SWIMMING pool is plenty of children and adults walking gently with glasses. Unless swimming between 7 & 8 am, no possibility to swim. There are nevertheless 3 swimming pools.

Sterile, could have been anywhere. I felt like I was in Florida.

Expedia customer service was extremely unhelpful.
Expedia sent me an email on July 2nd with incorrect check in and check out times.
We planned our schedule around those times. (Check our at 11 am).
I explained my situation to the front desk at Marriott. Marriott would not honor the extra hour.
The Marriott front desk employee was rude and unhelpful when I explained my situation and asked them to honor what was printed in Expedia’s email. The front desk worker said “that’s not our problem, take it up with expedia”.
I was on the phone for over 45 mins, and the expedia rep said she would email me a message so that I could show her proof of the incorrect info that expedia sent me in their email message. She never sent it. I tried calling back and refused to go through the whole song and dance with yet another dumb f@&?! Expedia and Marriott are a great pair. They both suck badly.
As for the Waikoloa Vacation Club.... the room was clean. However, this is the worst vacation club in the Hawaiian islands. No kids activities. The pool is small (dont let the pictures fool you). Bell service and room service is awesome. Food is mediocre, but the service was great!
The beach isn’t great, lots of rocks.
The fishponds look swampy.
There are wayyyyyyy better options in waikoloa.
Don’t stay here!

Beautiful property and well-kept grounds. It’s a good location with shopping and restaurants across the street. Lava Lava Beach Club is just down the beach. There are only two restaurants. Hawaii Calls is the main one and it’s underwhelming, especially on the service side. The other place is more of a bistro/coffee shop. For what it is, it’s decent. The biggest overarching complaint with the resort is the service and staff. The staff culture is lacking. The pool area is solid, with a kids area that is good for littles. The pool side food service is awful. The resort has an usable pond area before the beach. The beach area has limited old crummy chairs, there are plenty of activities, and the sand is ok. The resort definitely has a few years on it but the 1-bedroom suite that we stayed at on the condo side was well-appointed. The kitchenette had a refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. No stove. The bathroom had a shower but no tub. We had two decks with a partial view of the ocean and pool area. Overall, it’s a great property with below-average service and weak food options on property which is offset by close dining nearby. For the price, I’d stay there again.

Great accommodations, lots to do at resort and with a car secluded beaches to find, excellent restaurant on premises, kitchenette well-appointed, well-stocked shop on premises (food, clothes, sundries), "invisible" maid service, close to shopping malls
4.3
Excellent family friendly resort. Rooms were clean and equipped with everything a family needs.
4.3
Loved this place. Really clean and friendly staff.

The check in was horrible no early check in was available and room wasn’t ready till 4pm, they lost the room key packet and had to wait to get new ones luckily the second person helping with check in was nice and not a recording of what is supposed to be said, the room was big but, not totally clean, the coffee maker had used coffee filter and grinds still there from a previous guest and floor was not cleaned good had food still stuck on the tile
4.3
Great stay at Marriott's Waikoloa Ocean Club. Although we didn't leave the hotel during our stay, it was very close to a cute little shopping area with other restaurants. The pool was very nice and the beach was calm and lovely. Pool bar staff were very friendly and made an excellent tropical smoothie for us. We did the luau for my bday while we were there and had a great time.
4.3
Verg noisy room from 5-7pm -could not even hear TV-cause was singer in the foyer. They really need to turn the speakers down
4.3
The property is a full service resort with extensive spans next to the beach Waikoloa. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful catering to every need you may have. They even have hospitality rooms to relax for after checkout, if you depart the island much later than the checkout time. The suites are very clean and newly renovated. There are several pools to relax and wnjoy the horizon and ocean views. Highly recommend this resort!

Great hotel for a quick couple's weekend getaway. I would stay here again. Highly recommended.
4.3
Very nice beach and pool. Lots of room. Even the pull out sofa bed was big and comfortable. Handy to have a kitchen and washer/ dryer. Shopping center for groceries and good restaurants in easy walking distance. Turtle beach nearby.
4.3
Beautiful resort and very clean I’d stay again
4.3
Beautiful suite with kitchenette in a fantastic resort , steps to the beach and shops... what's not to love! Visited with our toddler who loved the pools and beach while being able to eat most meals at "home" was great... his table manners aren't always the best after a full day of fresh air, sun and sand. Will hopefully return Soon.
4.3
The hotel is in fantastic condition and has been refurbished to a very high standard. The rooms are well equipped and the hotel facilities are great. The warm pool feels like a bath!
However the service at the hotel is terrible. After a 30 hour journey to get there with two very young children, we were told we couldn’t check in until 3pm, this turned into 4:30. No information offered as to what to do whilst we waited. We had to change in the retuarant toilets so that we could get the kids in the pool.
In the evening drinks service took nearly an hour. Room service was slow and then when it did arrive it was cold. We ended up having no dinner :-(
The hotel has so much potential, but the service does not justify the price tag.
