I think there was no problem with location or cleaning. There was also aircondition in the room.
The problem was this spa hotel and infinity pool you see in the pictures is really small. I could not get in as there was a family of 4 people they were in all day long so there was no space for me left. Also they try to make you sign a paper which included the statement as “the hotel is not responsible for your lost goods in the room” which was strange so i did not sign it. Otherwise it was fine, and hotel is close to beach but not next to it. You should walk like 10 minutes to access. The beach of zicatela is nice but for surfers only not for swimming!

It's good, the staff was nice and call for me cabs.

Overall ok,but a bit expensive for what it was. No hot water, luckily it was hot enough to be ok. One thing I did appreciate was that we could use pool even after we checked out.

The towels were super old, I mean super OLD. Part of a window was covered with a piece of carton. No toilet paper was available at time of check in. We had to ask front desk for it. Furniture it is ready for recycle. The only great thing about the hotel is the pool and the barman. He a super host.

It is not easily accesible to the beach. There is no restaurant although they advertise a restaurant. We were charged 50 pesos for ice to take to our room. It is right on the 200 highway. So super busy and dangerous and loud.

Staying here was an absolute nightmare, starting from check-in to the process and now to the process of refund from Expedia. There was no concierge at time of check-in, I had to wait 15 minutes of which I was just trying to drop my bags off to make a dinner/salsa class with friends. When given a room key I had no door handle and the room key didn't work. Then the concierge told me I'd have to get them every time to access my room (not acceptable) I went out for the evening then returned. There was no hot water(the purpose of me booking a hotel in Mexico) then there was also no internet access in my room - the staff had to give me backend access to their private network which I could only access in their lobby. I then shower and go to use the most disgusting hotel towel I've ever seen. At this time it's around 2am that I fall asleep to be awoken at 6am from some of the worst road noise I've ever heard. I vacated the hotel by 7am informing them I'd be requesting a refund through expedia. Now that process has also been a disaster. Expedia hasn't been able to reach the hotel for days, then upon doing so the hotel hung up on them. Expedia is informing me they can't issue any refund unless from the hotel. How this property is listed on Expedia is mind boggling. I have photos and videos of all I experienced and both the hotel and Expedia couldn't care less. Do not book this hotel if no matter the price.

The hotel was falling apart needs a lot of work done. Wouldn’t stay there for the price I paid.

Service wasn't the greatest. Before arriving at the hotel I asked for three towels, to the pool and the shower. That wasn't prepared. Fur to the fact that the balcony door didn't close it was very noisy in our room. Shower drain cover completely loose. I reported these issues to expedia right away. Thankfully Expedia jumped on the ball and told us they will look into this. Day 2 of 7. Expedia told us to wait as they are trying to resolve this issue. All I wanted was to check out early. Anyway, oong story short, the hotel didn't do anything about it, just as Expedia. Nothing was done. Horrible service from both companies.

My staying with This hotel was outstanding I will stay again any time

Front desk staff was great. Unfortunately the switch for one of the beside reading lamps was broken, so the light could not turned off!!
I arrived late to the hotel, around midnight because of flight delays. I didn’t notice the switch on the light was broken until I was ready for bed around 1:30am. By then I was in my pjs and very tired and took the decision to not go to the front desk to complain- I didn’t even know if there was another room they could move me too. I put a t shirt over the light and went to sleep. The next day I asked if they could do a late check out - 1 hour- and they asked for 100 pesos. Usually this would have been no problem but I didn’t feel like it was fair since they knowingly rent out a room with a broken light (no way they didn’t know, looks like it has been broken for awhile). Total turn off. Manager said since I didn’t come and let the front desk know at 1:30am there was nothing they can do. Please fix your rooms. Absolutely ridiculous situation.

The rooftop pool and ocean view from there was amazing!
Bed and pillow were comfortable. Only thing I didn’t like was there were no blankets (sheet only) and bathroom faucet was loose and needs fixed.

Very cordial and clean. Easy access walking to Zicatela. For sure request a room OFF the street. Our king room fronted the street and the traffic noise kept us awake.
2.0
The room smell pretty bad coming from the bathroom sewer.
The location is not good at all, it is in the middle of Puerto Escondidos "highway", so you can't really walk anywhere.
Don not recommend, I think price/quality ratio is ABSURD.

Nothing boutique about the hotel or management. Very disappointing

When I went searching for a hotel in Puerto it was important to me to find a hotel with an on-site restaurant, and easy access to the beach front ("easy access" does not have to mean on the beach.)
The listing for this hotel clearly stated that there was a restaurant on site, and showed a number of photos of a small but nice looking restaurant. It also says that the hotel is a 6 minute walk to the beach.
Bottom line...NO operating restaurant on site, and the 6 minute walk to the beach includes having to dodge 4 lanes of traffic with NO crosswalks (after that the trip to the beach gets no easier, and ends at the far end of the beach with nothing but sand dunes....
Also, the sliding glass patio door to my balcony had cracks running from top to bottom and fully from one edge to the other. I don't care what country you're in, this is dangerous.
When I talked to the hotel mgr I was told there had been a restaurant, but no more and after a conversation with her and Expedia there was agreement all around that I deserved a refund. I checked out after just one night, and have yet to receive any of the agreed upon refund.
I want to note that I've been travelin in Mexico for 20 years, and you always have to expect a surprise along the way, but this was nothing more then purposeful deception, no traveler deserves that...
Note that the hotel has now updated it's listing on Expedia, but beware of other potential surprises....

The staff was awesome
Nice clean rooms
Only downside is that there’s no hot water
I’d stay there again

Nice hotel with nice staff within walking distance to Zicatela beach. Unfortunately I never had warm water to shower with even after waiting for it for more than 5 mins. I was told by the front desk staff that it take a long time for it to warm up. I dont know but it must be more than 15 mins which is not very environmentally friendly or pleasant for guests. The other thing is that no towels are lend to use outside of the hotel like the beach for example. Other than that its a nice newer hotel.

It was walking distance from Zicatela Beach and near an Oxxo for late night essentials. A pizza place opened up the day we left, so if you’re tired and unsure of what to eat, options are a pizza place to the right and a taco joint to the left.

It would be nice to have nicer restaurants nearby instead of a 10 minute walk.

Love Hotel DC. Staff is great. Clean, safe, you can get a taxi within minutes. Beds are comfortable. Pool is on the roof and has a great view of the city.

Super nice rooms, various beaches nearby. Nearby food and local shops available. Super friendly staff and local people!

The hotel is on the main road and because of that the rooms are pretty noisy.

Everything was amazing except for the tile around the pool which is very slippery

Hotel was extremely conveniently located to Zicatela (walking distance) and La Punta (quick taxi ride). Also, since there are no Ubers, the staff easily called taxis for us as needed. Staff was great. Room was solid - no frills, but clean and comfortable.

Really nice stay! Nice bed, clean rooms and very nice pool! Only downside is the noice at night, because it’s located next to the main road.

Enjoyed our stay. Diego was very welcoming and accommodating. We had an issue with the toilet leaking upon arrival so they moved us into another room. Overall, we were happy with our stay. Great view from terrace- with pool very nice.
1.5
Hotel is fine - but staff rather unfriendly and unhelpful and location requires walking on some dark or busy roads at night even to go to local beach-front. Rooftop pool is very good place for sunset however.
2.5
The Staff is amazing! The rooms are super clean (cleaning service daily). I hurt myself on a bike the first day and they were super helpful, brought me ice and towels. Theyve been helpful with recommendations etc. A small issue would be the swimming pool filtration can be heard in one of the rooms directly below it and the laundry service is a lot compared to other laundry services fairly close by. Oh and there's an amazing taco place right beside. Overall though, great experience staying at the DC.
