When we got to our room I immediately was overwhelmed with a chemical type of smell. We opened a window to air it out and left for dinner. The next day I complained to reception and he said he would check it out. He assured me that they dont use any chemicals to clean etc. I checked in with reception again and was told he and the maintenence guy didnt smell anything wrong. After talking to him further he told me they use Tide and Downey on the linens and towels. Because of the smell we had to check out a day early. I was assured we would get some sort of refund but never did. If you're sensitive to fragrance I wouldn't stay here. Other than the smell, the grounds and rooms are nice. Its in a great location too.

We knew going in there wasn't a TV. However, on a rainy day or late night, it would have been nice to curl up on a couch and watch a movie. We did bring a laptop, but the wifi was slow and unreliable. There was an access point for the wifi outside of the cabin, but there wasn't any power coming from it. The couch wasn't comfortable at all. It seems like this place cares about aesthetics more than comfort. Also, the bathroom smelled funny the whole time. A few pros to this place were the people who worked there were very polite and having a private deck with a wall that opened was very nice! I wouldn't stay here again, though.

They advertised that they had a pool available on 07/07/2024, however it was closed by the health department. I arrived there and found this out , their cancellation policy as they stated was I will not get my money back (161.00) Expedia also said the same thing

Rumor has it this property was originally housing for the 1980 Olympics in lake placid. They did a great job renovating it.

This is a very cute property. My room was great but the sink had a crack that needs to be repaired because it leaks on the floor. The guide they send is nice but could use work. It has information but no details and has no information about checkout.

This spot was perfect for our trip to Lake Placid. A great space for couples and family. The evening sauna sunsets and morning coffees by the river were incredible. We even dipped in the cold river to freshen up after a day hiking before cooking outside on the electric grills and snuggling down to the fire before bed. The bedroom was delightful and the comfiest of beds! Location was a lovely little walk to town and we used their bikes to cycle to the local brewery. A must stay location!

Potentially beautiful room. No view at all, which is disappointing. The oddest thing - no TV! I’ve never seen a hotel room without a TV. Also the bathroom smelled a bit mildew-ish. There’s no door on the shower (“modern”) but the lip is too low so the whole floor gets wet. I’d look elsewhere in the future.

Our room was great - it had a creek view and a balcony to sit out and sip coffee. Lots of thoughtful details and high-quality furnishings. The staff was helpful, especially in the evening. Access to the park was great. It's a bit out of downtown, but that worked fine for us.

Staff were very welcoming, made checking in a breeze. There is lots of parking available free onsite. Our room was certainly rougher than we expected based on the beautiful photos online. It was clean, although the bathroom floor was quite dirty, and the bathroom door was broken (one hinge was fully broken right off) so it could not be closed, which was difficult for privacy. One thing to note as well if you are someone who likes the TV in your room, there are no TVs on this property so I would recommend bringing your iPad or laptop if that’s needed. We loved the fire pit, the complementary s’mores were a really nice touch. It’s a lovely place to stay, if we were to go back, we would definitely opt for the newer buildings toward the back of the property as they seemed to be in better condition than the room we had at the front of the property.

The room was clean, spacious, and beautiful. The staff were all extremely hospitable and kind. We partook in the (free!) s’mores kits by a roaring fire outside, enjoyed a breakfast basket in the morning served with a Stanley thermos full of delicious coffee, and in general loved lake placid. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

Interesting place, but overall condition of the room was a little rougher than expected based on photos. We booked it in a hurry for just one night, and didn't realize until after we left that the room we were given was not the one we had booked. We booked the King Studio Colden, and ended up in the King Studio with Fireplace, which was quite different in terms of the bathroom and a few other things. Seems silly that it took us that long to figure it out, I know. Had we realize sooner, we would've asked to be moved. On the positive side, the staff were pleasant and the breakfast basket was very nice.

Great Stay! Friendly staff. This place is very clean, yet doesn’t smell chemical clean, like the chain hotels. They must use very natural cleaning products. All rooms are unique. Our room had a nice walk in shower and a contemporary /minimalist kind of vibe. Tea kettles and great tea.They have a fire pit for making s'more's if you like, and a sauna. They have bikes you can use. We are an older couple and liked it, But this is a place millennials would love.

We had a really wonderul stay at the Eastwind. The beds were super comfortable and the room was very quiet. We also really loved the Sauna. I was a little disappointed in the book selection in the "library". I would have loved to see some books about the history of the area or local wildlife. But really our stay couldnt have been better. Its a gorgeous property.

Eastwind in Lake Placid, NY, is a gem for pet-friendly travelers like us. The staff's attentiveness made our stay memorable, and we adored the breakfast basket, perfect for two. Our dog felt welcomed with a thoughtful gift and a handwritten note. Check-in was a breeze, even late at night. Although there was a small stain on the bed sheet, we didn't bother changing it due to our late arrival. The hotel even gave us dog-friendly food recommendations. Overall, we rate Eastwind 4.5 stars and look forward to trying out the sauna on our next visit. Highly recommended!
