Good location but very basic amenities

I liked the retro look of the place. It was gross and uncomfortable to read on the room signs that stool paper after wiping needs to be placed in the trash and not flushed.

The location is great but this is the tiniest hotel room I have ever imagined. It can't be more than 8 ft by 8 ft with an attached bathroom. There was absolutely no place to open up a suitcase and leave it open. You have to haul your suitcase onto the bed and repack everything before you can find a place to put

It was nice. But there needs to be a work table in the room. I had to work on the luggage rack, it was hard. I work early, so worked in lobby in the dark, as lights are not on until 8a. Also, the pipe drips in that room from ceiling so had to have towels along the floor so would not slip and fall, plus it is rude awakening in middle of night to step in cold water. Other than that, it was nice

It was amazing. The presidente suite was better than expected. The apartment was well equipped, clean, abc had the most comfortable beds. My kids loved the loft area and everyone enjoyed the balcony. Everyone was very nice and having coffee in the morning was a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again.

This is our place to stay always when in old San Juan. We were never disappointed. Highly recommending.

First time renting in Old San Juan, if you want to experience what life in Puerto Rico is like for the locals, this is it. Don’t expect a luxury resort style stay, it’s an old building but decent. All the bars, shops, and restaurants are within walking distance. It’s not a five star but it’s a local experience if you’re ok with experiencing what life is on the island.

Great location. Taxi had a hard time finding it as there isn’t an obvious sign. Room was smaller but fine. AC couldn’t go below 70 and was still pretty warm in there. We had no exterior windows. We were next to front desk. Very loud when ppl came back to hotel and going to their rooms. No sound proofing at all. Construction during the day.

Extremely well located and outstanding staff

I asked the front desk on two different days to have the room cleaned and it wasn't done.
The room barely fit a queen size bed. When I inquire if all the rooms were that small I was told that only that one. Also, that that room was the one given to people who book through hotels.com
I saw two roaches inside the microwave.
The front desk was overall friendly and the location is good.

This is an older building, which should be expected in old town San Juan. This is not a luxury hotel. It has a limitations of an older building, including few outlets, no windows in our room, not a lot of amenities. For a one night stay prior to a cruise, it is probably perfect. Do not bother getting a taxi to the Cruise port, anyone with reasonable health can easily walk and save the taxi. It is also within easy walking distance of all the tourist sites in the old city.

Rooms too small with no windows it is like a prison cell. Will not stay there even if it was free. Horrible experience. Refused to check in and left the hotel. Be wear. Pictures had nothing to do with reality.

We loved staying here. Our room was TINY TINY and no closet to put your clothes away or hideaway the suitcases so they don’t take space away.
Bathroom was big and spacious. Bed was comfortable.
Staff was amazing too really good care of us. Let us drop off the suitcases earlier we got there and also leaving it for the day our ship was leaving late.
It was close it everything in VSJ.
I would book again but ask for a bigger room. There were bigger ones. But ours was tiny.

Got woken up by aggressive knocking at 0600am Not sure why. Shower water pressure was very weak. Otherwise there was no issues and I’d love to return.

Be aware this is an old building so the water pressure is horrible; have to put toilet paper in the trash can which was different; but room was extremely clean when we arrived; this is in a great location in Old San Juan, literally can walk anywhere; staff is nice; great communication

Location was very convenient. However the room was extremely small with no space even for large luggage. (10x10) If you take a shower be careful as the entire bathroom floor gets wet.

I liked the common area and how we were always asked if we wanted our room cleaned or not

Really friendly stay, but it’s a bit too old with old smell. Probably because its Old San Juan area.

I loved Fortaleza suites! Very central, they had towels and sunscreen to use, very calming fountain that you can hear from the hallway. My one complaint was the bright hallway light shining through the door l. Other than that it was wonderful. I’d love to return one day!

The property is kinda hard to find if you aren't watching. It was very quiet at night, and the staff was very helpful when we had a question. Plenty of restaurants and shopping right out the front door. If i had any real complaints, i did not care for the self service kitchen.

Great customer service! What I did like the most about this property is that is close to everything that you probably want to do in old San Juan. When I got to my room everything was super clean . Also , I traveled alone. So, if you are doing a solo trip this could be a good place to stay for you. If I would be back ? Without no doubts !!

Ice machine didn't work. That's the only bad thing about our stay. Everything else was great.

Continently located near the tourist attraction and the old style structure and feeling was nice

I wouldn’t book again but i enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly the place was clean no doubt about that. But I was solo traveling and one night one od the workers came into my room to deliver something and they didn’t know I was in there. Is was uncomfortable bc I woke out of my sleep to see his face and it was scary at first. Then 2 nights later they announced there would be no night shift. That didn’t make me feel the safest and they emailed everyone so I saw all the guests emails. I think that is a safety concern. Not a big deal to some I suppose hut to be this hotel wasn’t the most comfortable option for solo travel.
