About this house rental

Summary:
Northern Waters Lodge is a Spacious PRIVATE HOME located on nearly 2 acres with stunning views of Miller's Bay and Pipe Island on Leech lake. We have a dock with boat lift with direct access to Leech lake. You also get kayaks, a paddle board and fire pit with great swimming!

Please note: The fire pit and dock access include a steep lawn & stairs. Elderly guests may have difficulty walking down to the lake.

The Space:
The main floor and deck have perhaps the best view on Leech lake!

Three bedrooms and 2 baths are on the upper level. The main floor includes 2 bedrooms and a 3rd bath. The lower level is setup as a kid's camp with 4 beds and a 4th bath.

The living areas are all generous with incredible views of the lake. There is a firepit near the lake plus kayaks and a paddle board for guest use.

The garage is available for fish cleaning and storage of your gear. Car parking is plentiful. Boat trailers need to be parked at the trailer parking for Trapper's Landing, 1 mile from the home.

Guest Access:
Bedroom Policy

To properly estimate the time needed to prepare for guests, and keep our rates down, we close 3 bedrooms for groups of 8 or less. Each group has full access to all living areas and we only rent to 1 group at a time.

The master suite (king bed), Lumberjack room (queen) & the kids camp on the lower level (2- twin, 1- full, 1-queen) will be open for any group of 8 or less.

If your party consists of 9 – 14 we will open an additional bedroom for groups of 9-10; 2 additional bedrooms for groups of 11-12 and 3 additional bedrooms for groups of 13-14.

During your booking, please notify us if you’d like to open additional bedrooms not automatically included in your group size (a cleaning fee will be charged) or adjust which bedrooms you have available for your group (see below).

Bedrooms we automatically open for groups of 9 or more:

Groups of 9-10: Flag bedroom (upper level with1 full bed and sofa sleeper)

Groups of 11-12: Flag & Nautica (main floor with 2 twin beds) bedrooms

Groups of 13-14: Flag, Nautica & Bear (main floor with full bed) bedrooms

The Neighborhood:
Lake Harbor Estates is a private community of 20 homes, some with direct lake frontage and others with lake access. The roads are private and there are no through streets.

Getting Around:
There is parking for 2 cars at the garage and extra parking spaces off the driveway, above the garage. Boat trailers are not able to be parked on site due to the narrow driveway and limited space to turn a trailer around. We have offsite boat trailer parking 1 mile from the home.

Other Things to Note:
We are located on a private road about 1 mile from the Merit restaurant and less than 2 miles from the Whipholt public access. The casino is about 8 minutes away and downtown Walker, 15 min.

We had a wonderful stay at this clean, comfortable, and very spacious house! We were a group of 4 adults with 9 fourteen year old girls looking for a place to play games, splash in the water, sing around the campfire and enjoy the area. All the details about the house and amenities are exactly as given. We were pleased to use the lilypad, paddle board, kayaks even though we had lots of wind and unseasonably cool weather. The cornhole game in the "kids camp" lower level was a hot spot with a tournament when the outdoor weather wasn't great. About a 15 minute drive to downtown Walker.

Very spacious for our family. Absolutely loved the accessibility of the dock and the kayaks. Entertained my grandkids for hours. Great place for the kids to snorkel. The view on the deck made it so easy to watch them swim below. The walk back up the hill from the lake to the house does require quite a bit of energy .

This was a wonderful location for a joint family vacation. It was my family and my brother's family. We had kids ranging from 4-19. They loved it. We did too. Highly recommend. The place is beautiful and huge! We had lots of room to spread out, which is great for two families!

Beautiful place with nicely decorated rooms and a gorgeous living room area and kitchen! Beautiful view! Clean rooms and nicely furnished with dishes for cooking, beautiful porch and deck! Did not realize there was no sandy beach that smaller children could enjoy but did swim off dock. Some small perch but one son caught a big northern! Thanks again for a great stay!

Basement set up for kids. They loved having their own place to hang out. So did the adults at times… Boat lift. Great cabin.

We arrived at the home to find knee deep grass and waist high weeds throughout the yard. Anyone who ventured into the yard was covered in ticks. I contacted the host immediately on Friday and the lawn was mowed the following Monday. The exterior of the house is in rough condition. Inside the home it was very dirty. We had to sweep and mop all the floors, and there were dead bugs and dust on all counters and bedroom end tables. The garage was full of misc. construction materials and the garage fridge looked like it had been recovered from the bottom of the lake. The yard down to the fire pit and dock was very steep, so anyone with mobility issues could not get to the water. There was new stairs and dock leading to the lake. We could not use the kayaks or canoe as they were full of water/mud/insects. The amenities/decor of the home were nice but dated. There were plenty of rooms to accommodate a large group.

Our group of eleven men used the property for a three day get away to fish on Leech Lake. As recommended by the hosts, nearby Trapper's Landing was extremely accommodating to arrange the boat slips and trailer storage we needed. The well equipped kitchen facility had everything our "cook" needed to provide daily breakfast and dinner for everyone. The great room and kitchen comfortably accommodated our large group. If we return to Leech Lake, we will definitely want to stay here again.
