Awesome stay.

Modern. Clean with sea view. Most of all , the employees were absolutely fantastic, kind and very very helpful at every interaction. Friendly wave and smiles. Can’t fault them . Highly recommended.

Good, but it's easy to make great.

Location, breakfast, staff,clean.

3 day stay. Rm. 12A & B. 1 air conditioner was dripping on day 1, and the room became too warm that night. It was fixed the next day. The ac units were a bit too noisy for sleeping ( even on low), and the lights on the units needed to be blocked with tape. The 2nd bedroom bed needs to be larger than a double (queen minimum or 2 single beds together).

We had a wonderful stay and will return at gaivota hotel next time.

The breakfast was super. There was a choice of different things to eat. The place was clean and the houseceeping cleaned up as soon as we left so that others could have a cleane table.

We stayed in a room where the main door could not lock so we had to lock our bedrooms. Beacause of this we slept separatly at night. This was not told at our arrival so we sleept with open Doors. Thankfully there is a night staff.

Location was good beautiful view from our room. The staff were very helpful always smiling enjoyed ourselves very much.

Not really too too bad the lighting was a little dark in the room early in the morning to set that little table to read or write but all in all very very nice

Great view only when the cruise ships are not docked.

We love the location and the view from the balcony. That’s the main reason to book that hotel. Unfortunately when the cruise ships are docked, they can really block your ocean view. We had 2 cruise ships docked the entire day and you are staring at them instead of the ocean. They were like two 10-story buildings erected instantly overnight to block off your ocean view. Really terrible.

Cruise ships blocking the view. Staff was about to charge me for asking for a couple of decaf coffee pods when there were only caffeinated ones provided. That seemed really petty. Would be nice if they provide slippers as the floor felt a bit unclean to walk on barefoot, and I like not to walk around the room with my shoes on.

Great location. Very good breakfast.

The bathroom in the room needs renovation. Contrary to the description on booking.com, my room on the 1st floor I get does not have a terrace (only rooms on the 4th floor have a terrace in the entire hotel) and a balcony. The room had a loggia :-). When you booking a room of 65 sq.m. I advise you to check what kind of room you actually get. My initially received room was no more than 50 sq.m. However, the hotel managed to solve the problem satisfactorily!

Gorgeous, front row seats to the Atlantic Ocean .

Loved this oceanfront property with its fabulous staff. They had helpful suggestions on restaurants suited to tastes, and when to visit sites due to weather conditions. The breakfast had several options and even included eggs made to order. The location is perfect for touring, shopping and enjoying the best of Sao Miguel.

there was nothing not to like in the hotel from the amazing view to the location to the super friendly helpful staff to the amazing breakfast and to the super cleanliness. id love to go back to the same place over and over again. we got printed sheet made from one of the staff tips and route around beat views in the island with list of beat restaurant. and got card for parking , breakfast was 10/10 changing menu everyday which is very refreshing

Fantastic hotel facing marina.

stayed in this hotel as my Birthday treat. I was upgraded for free from a double room to an apartment facing marina. I chatted a few times with stuff who were friendly and very supportive. Breakfast there is amazing and the best in Portugal so far. Especially I loved cheese balls which I first tried on my visit to Rio de Janeiro. I found my bed very comfortable and liked crisp, fresh bedding. Thank you for my special stay in this hotel.

location is perfect - we hired a car which we could park directly under our hotel in public car park for 5 euro per day airport is less then 15 minutes drive. staff at reception were very helpful and gave us lots of good suggestions of where to go explore breakfast is good

Amazing last night in the island

The view was stunning, the size of our room was big, the bathroom with the bathtub was enormous. Everything was clean and neatly organized

Unfortunately we had our flight very early in the morning so we did not get to try the breakfast, as they don't offer it for early departure but, it is included in the price

the rooms were clean, and I liked the bathroom and the breakfast. the staff were amazing, they really helped us out.

the bed was really small, not suited for 2 people. the room was humid and you can feel the dumpness when breathing. each time I went into the room I had to go to the porch to breath some air
