Pros: layout of the bedrooms, ample privacy. The pool was the highlight of the trip for the kids and it had a locking door. Kitchen had all we needed to make our meals, ample seating in the dining room, amazing views, convenient to town.
Cons: We did not receive the code to get in at 4pm, which was frustrating because we got there at 4 and the cabin was clearly empty. Thankfully we received the code about 20 mins later but we were sitting there waiting. The downstairs AC wasn’t working and they did come immediately out to fix it when we called. We also reported a few minor things. They didn’t do anything about them but we didn’t really care. We had a lot of children there, so we mainly just wanted them to know that we did not do that damage. The hot tub was not working and the first repair guy came out and did nothing. My husband told him what he thought was the problem and he basically called my husband an idiot even though my husband does maintenance. We called them to send out another repair man and he actually did fix the problem but we couldn’t use the hot tub for the first 2 days of being there. The last night the upstairs AC wasn’t working and after calling the after hours number they never responded or fixed it. We spent the last night with the windows open for some relief. The downstairs arcade wasn’t working.
Would book again for a family gathering, but hopefully management company gets better. They did offer us a $100 refund.

It was a beautiful house in a great location. We had some cleanliness issues during our stay. I wasn't going to leave a bad review of the property, but instead went straight to the rental company with my concerns after we left (a day early) so that they had a private opportunity to fix the issues. I included pictures of everything as well. Below is my email to them:
Hi!
I wanted to give a little feedback from our experience at the cabin this past weekend. Instead of posting a negative review, I thought it best to just let you know personally what we experienced. It was a beautiful cabin in an awesome location, but it was very dirty. I'm going to list our findings below and attach a couple of pictures we took.
Clogged toilet in one of the bunk rooms upon arrival. The maintenance man arrived the next day at lunchtime to fix it. He left all dirty wet towels on the floor of the bathroom for us to clean when he left.
There was food trash and crumbs in the drawers in the bedrooms.
There were used Styrofoam cups with lids and straws made up into the beds in one room upstairs.
I walked from downstairs to upstairs and my feet were black the day we arrived. Everyone's socks were nasty.
In one of the bedrooms downstairs there were clothes in the closet.
There was a bra in a bed.
There weren't fitted sheets on a lot of the beds upstairs.
Dirty Q-Tips on the bathroom floor.
The left refrigerator smelled like a dead animal and was hot upon arrival and never functioned properly. We couldn't use it.
The pool door never worked properly.
In one of the bedrooms on the lower level there was a bag hanging in the closest that contained Narcan, clean needles, and a Drug Disposal bag.
We ended up leaving a day early. I believe for the price of the house this is completely unacceptable. I don't know what can be done to make this right with me, but I felt you should know all of this so that it doesn't keep happening to future guests. I look forward to your thoughts.
Best,
Heather Gray
There response was:
Thanks for the feedback! I apologize for all the issues.
I felt with the amount of issues we had and the severity of some (like the Narcan and needles) that I deserved a little more of a response than that. Therefore, I want anyone else thinking of booking this property to be fully informed as to what they are getting into.

When we arrived at the property and opened one of the fridges it hade a rotten smell and gnats were flying around. We had to go buy cleaning supplies to clean fridge prior to putting our food in it. It was advertised as having two frefrigerators We soon found out only 1 worked. It advertised 4 microwaves only 2 works. We called and made a report but the issue was never resolved we had to purchase ice and place food items in a cooler to keep them cold. Because the one fridge was not sufficient for the number of occupants. The Wi-Fi is terrible so the TVs didn’t always work. We didn’t have access to the pool for 2 days because of a faulty key pad. There was a malfunction to the security system so there was a constant loud annoying beeping sound on the bottom level. The air on the second floor does not work and we reported it to maintenance and it was never fixed during our stay.

This property was very nice overall. We did have a few issues that were taken care of. Was a little disappointed on the cleanliness of the house. There was only one sheet on the bunk beds which we thought was rather odd. We were told that the pool would be cleaned every five days and our stay was 10 days and it was never cleaned during that time.
Overall, the views were amazing and the space worked perfect for what we were looking for.

The view and space was perfect. But for the price per night, roaches in the kitchen, huge ant pile next to the pool, two bathrooms with no toilet seats and two bathrooms with no shower curtains is unacceptable. Out of the 4 microwaves in the kitchen, only 1 worked. So warming food for 40 people was annoying. Also, the layer of dust that was on everything in the kitchen was absolutely disgusting. This place needs a DEEP clean for the price you pay to stay here. The listing also mentions AMPLE parking, which is not the case at all. So be prepared to ‘figure it out’ if you plan to inquire with the property manager. Be sure you bring EVERYTHING you need to stay here for more than 1 day (hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap).

The views from the expansive back porch were stunning, and it had plenty of space for outdoor dining. But, I felt nervous with our small kids (5 and 7) out there because there was a 40+ foot drop and the fencing was a little bit flimsy.
The kitchen was spacious and well appointed for large groups, but it was missing some of the smaller utensils you might want if you actually plan to cook, e.g. a silicone spatula and a set of actually sharp chefs knives, so you may want to bring your own essentials.
It was excellent to have an indoor pool (and attached outdoor hot tub), which gave a great opportunity to let our kids burn off energy. But the water in the hot tub was cloudy enough that we weren't really comfortable using it--it appeared that the water hadn't been changed in several weeks at least, even if it was properly treated with chemicals.
Aside from the gross hot tub water, which is really why I withhold a 5-star rating, there were a number of small issues which I felt should not exist in a $2000+/night vacation rental (because when you spend $20k for a 10-day family vacation, you really expect it to be basically perfect). This small issues:
1. Half of the lights in the pool (overhead lights, not in the pool itself) were burned out.
2. Several of the beds had no fitted sheets, just a second flat sheet on top of the mattress.
3. Many of the TVs were missing remotes.
4. The internet was VERY slow at night. To be fair, this is probably not the property's fault, but it was nonetheless frustrating.
5. When a large group showed up across the street, parking became an issue, despite the fact that we had only 2 cars at a house with 13 bedrooms.
6. One of the 4 microwaves was entirely nonfunctional.
7. One of fridge shelves was damaged.
Overall, despite the issues, we would probably still stay there again.

We had a group of almost 30 people for a work/team weekend. I liked the amenities for a large group (2 refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers) There was plenty of parking in front of the house, or at a lot close by. We were able to all congregate in the kitchen/living room which was nice. One of the bathrooms on the main level was handicap accessible. That was nice, but least favorite as it had no counter space-for use when assigning bedrooms to your group. We put families with kids on upper level, but hindsight, would have put them on lower level since the pool is locked with combination lock. Would come back again, and it was nice to have something large enough for all of us.

We arrived on June 9th and the first thing we noticed was that the Hot tub was not working. We called the maintenance company and they sent someone out on the 10th but never got it working before we left on the 13th. The place "sleeps 58" but only has pillows for 26 and Forks for 30. There were 2 - 2 cup coffee makers but only one of them had a coffee pot and after another call to maintenance they brought another one for the following morning. The pool table was tilted and in pretty rough shape and there were a couple of stick but only one of them had a tip that we could actually use. We mentioned that to maintenance but nothing happened. One of the lights above the pool was broke and you could see the wires hanging inside. One morning we blew a fuse and didn't have a microwave for about 4 hours. One afternoon the A/C stopped working for a about 6 hours until maintenance showed up later that night. The movie theater was nice but the only speaker was the once attached to the projector so it didn't get very loud. Overall the place was beautiful and we had a great trip but it was exhausting calling maintenance twice every day. I would probably stay there again in they could guarantee me that the Hot tub would be working.

MountainView Retreat was a lovely cabin for our growing family... the views off the deck were incredible - the 13 bedrooms and baths met all the needs of each family. The kitchen was pretty well stocked - although it could use a little more storage room for "supplies" as we move in for the week. Loved the windows and view from the very fun pool area too!Had several maintenance issues throughout the week, but the staff was quick to respond ....only issue was the 2nd dishwasher did not work. Will definitely revisit in the future!
