Yosemite Big Rock Cabin
Our calendar is updated in real-time & our nightly rates are accurately displayed. Simply enter your desired dates and click 'Book Now!'
This Fish Camp cabin is ideally situated less than two miles from Yosemite's south entrance. Big Rock provides the quaintness of a cabin with the modern amenities and comforts of home.
The cabin opens to a wrap-around deck where you can cook on the gas grill, dine at the table that seats eight, and take in the gorgeous mountain views with tall pine and cedar trees, and a meadow of ferns. You'll see the seasonal creek, and the giant boulder that was the inspiration for the cabin’s “Big Rock” name.
Inside, the open living room has wood-plank walls and a vaulted ceiling, with a wood-burning stove and a flatscreen TV. The kitchen is well equipped. The dining table seats six, with four additional stools at the kitchen bar. The main bedroom opens to a covered deck sitting area. Privately tucked away at the end of the cul-de-sac, this cabin has parking for multiple cars and even a trailer.
The cabin is also near the Wawona History Center and 9-hole golf course - the only golf course in a national park. Bass Lake is less than 15 miles away, where you can enjoy boating, skiing, fishing, swimming, hiking, and bicycling. The Pines Village at the lake provides restaurants, a general market, bars, shops, and a full-service marina with rental boats, jet skis, and kayaks. The town of Oakhurst is also nearby, with shopping, restaurants, bars, a movie cinema, and a live stage theater.
Bass Lake is less than 15 miles from the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park. Bass Lake reaches its peak water levels in the summer months and is lowered by 50 percent during the fall and winter months annually. Because of this summer water levels vary each year depending on the winter season rain and snowfall.

The overall stay was good.It was very comfortable. There were items for the kids to play with.

Our stay was brief but the location of the cabin made entrance to the park relatively easy. With 4 women traveling together having 3 bathrooms was a benefit. Our only issue was finding the cabin - arriving after dark.

Loved staying at the Big Rock Cabin! It was the perfect location for our Yosemite Park trip. House fit all our needs for 2 families staying together. Beautiful outside deck to enjoy your meals and our kids had a blast playing in the grassy space in the backyard. Hearing the sound of the stream near by was a added plus.

Bathrooms are dated but clean.
Kitchen is lack luster but two grills on the deck!!

It was a large beautiful place, well equipped with everything you would need, and very close to Yosemite NP. We had 5 adult women stay there and we couldn’t be happier with the place. The management was very responsive and quickly rectified a minor snafu. We would stay there again.

The cabin is really awesome, but very hot during the day. It didn’t cool off until about an hour or 2 after the sun went down with all the windows open to let in the cool outdoor air. Location is awesome for accessing Yosemite National Park. Wi-Fi was pretty weak. I had a task for work I needed to do remotely, and it took about 5 times longer than it should have with the poor internet service. I almost packed it up and drove 20 minutes into Oakhurst to use the Wi-Fi at a Starbucks Cafe.
If you’re wanting to get off the grid and are not heat sensitive, this place is amazing. But if you need reliable wi-fi and are used to quality air conditioning, this might not be a good fit for you.

Lovely and spacious cabin with all types of amenities. If you are travelling with family and want to go to a more secluded place, this is the ideal place. Just 7 minutes from Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, and 45 minutes from Yosemite Valley (could be more or less depending on traffic).

Spacious, beautiful surroundings, secluded, near Yosemite Valley. Definitely a place to stay with your family if you want to be in a secluded place.

The house was spacious, clean and very comfortable with a beautiful back deck. We ate outside every day. Also, excellent proximity to the South Entrance of the park. If you're planning on visiting the park, and you can't stay inside, this is a great spot to stay.

All was fine, even the weather cooperated, giving us perfect spring one day, and winter snowstorm the next day. Thank you for a perfect location and perfect accommodation.

My family enjoyed our stay. It was clean and the house was fully equipped which was a huge plus. We stayed for Christmas 2021 and had a beautiful experience (white Christmas) although it snowed significantly, the snow plower did come thru in the morning of check out so it wasn’t too much hassle. We loved our stay. We were able to play in the snow in our backyard and there was enough snow to do activities. Overall we would like to stay at the same place next year, Lord willing. 5 stars!!!!

We loved the Big Rock cabin at Fish Rock! So quaint but with great amenities! Enough Beds and bathrooms for our 6 adults. Quiet woods all around. Tv to watch NBA playoffs in the evening when back from Yosemite, and right by South Entrance to Yosemite! It did get warm in the afternoons when we stayed there because no AC, but the evenings cooled down quickly.

We loved staying at this cabin. Yosemite was a park we had wanted to visit for years and this cabin made the visit so great! We loved relaxing and eating meals together. The layout worked well for our group that had married kids and younger kids. It was well cared for and ready when we got there.

The cabin location is amazing. Though, it is around 1hr20min from the village, on a normal day. But that was fine with us. The house was overall clean except that the kids woke up with some bug bites each morning. None of the other visitors, who slept in other rooms than the kid’s, got the bite. I guess some issue with the bunk beds. The property manager should look into that. Other than that, loved the stay and enjoyed the cabin.
