Hotel aligns with the boutique old Charleston theme. However, I do think the reception staff and managerial staff need to smarten up for the price paid. E.G the receptionist could not help with any old town tours information, only a local bus service route.

Wonderful hotel in historic building, located in walking distance from all historic points of interest, in the heart of dinning and shopping district.
Customer service was exceptional , helpful and welcoming .
Personal welcoming notes awaiting in the room were very nice and welcoming touch !
At night , upon returning from a dinner, we found our room thoughtfully prepared for the night with sheets properly adjusted - nice touch!
We will definitely stay at this hotel next time we are in Charleston !

Celebrating our 31 anniversary and from the moment we drove up we were catered too. The bellhop, the front desk, and housekeeping were all amazing. The complimentary wine and coffee were nice touches. Convenient to all the sights of old Charleston. We will definitely return.

Overall the property was fine It did not meet our expectation for cleanliness and the room in the piazza was tired and needed updating. Our ac unit was not working upon arrival and the room was 78 degrees. The problem was rectified but a Freon leak should have been detected earlier. The bathroom had a moldy shower curtain. The common rooms and grounds were quite nice. The restaurant was upscale with a diverse menu. Overall a good stay but I will try other properties next time we visit the area.

We went from the beach to a night in Charleston - The Best from the hotel to the market to the shops to the food!

We had an excellent stay at the Planters Inn. The staff was excellent. We came from Asheville after Helene and we got a warm welcome, including Prosecco and delicious coconut cake. The location is great and the rooms are nice and comfy.

The location was great. Convenient & walking distance to every must see in Charleston. However, rooms were extremely humid & there was a musty smell throughout the hotel, especially in the room. Ordered a half champagne & coconut cake at arrival & only received the cake but was charged for both.

Very nice property with pleasant staff. Only negative was the road noise.

Everything was amazing! Just a few little things here and there that could’ve been cleaner, but nothing to generate a bad review. It was a first time staying there and we will definitely return.

The surprise charges were not nice ($60 per day for what?). Street sounds quite loud. The facility is showing its age.
Employees were very nice and responsive.
Dinner was good, but not outstanding as it has been in the past.

We had an absolute delightful time staying at this hotel. We usually stay at Charleston Pl., Hotel Bennett the restoration Hotel or a few of the other four and five star hotels. I was pleasantly surprised at pretty much everything at the planters in.
The staff was funny, helpful, and kind. We were graded in our room with a personalized card and teddy bear along with our complementary Expedia status sparkling wine.
Our room was very well taken care of. It was a large suite on the third floor. The bathroom, furnishings and fixtures all were impeccable. The bed was very large and extremely comfortable.
The only suggestion I would have for the hotel is to implement a scent diffuser system as sometimes Charleston can have an interesting smell.

Small hotel, no amenities, limited dinning (it was pouring outside but won’t let us eat in the restaurant because I didn’t have a cocktail dress!
Location was ok but very crowded and noisy outside
Staff were nice and friendly but messed up our dinner reservation and charged us extra upon check out

The entire stay of 4 nights was excellent. The hotel was beyond lovely and welcoming. The staff were all exceptional from Tristen who valeted our car and gave us ideas where to explore to the entire staff asking each time what do we need.

This is a very nice, historical hotel located close to many restaurants and historical sites within walking distance. The lobby and common areas were nice and kept with the historical theme of the hotel. Great amenities such as coffee, sweet tea, and hot tea. We were caught in a rainy time and they supplied us with umbrellas so we could still walk around. The rooms were decent size but the bathtub/shower was very slippery and the room could use some updates/improvements for the quality and price of the hotel. Most of the employees were very nice and helpful. Our experience with one of the employees upon our checkout was disappointing. She was the manager I’m guessing and seemed very snobby and unfriendly. The other employees seemed to be intimidated by her as well.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The sparkling wine was a nice touch and paired well with the coconut cake we brought back to the room!

Our arrival was overwhelmed by 23 guests being moved from another hotel. The front desk did not give us the information that we really needed. We finally had to come back later to find out the things we needed to know. The room was fine and the bathroom was especially large. There was turndown service. Unfortunately they do not serve breakfast and the beautiful dining room adjacent had only extremely high priced items for their breakfast meal. There were quite a few things that needed taken care of in the room and I will say that they came very quickly when we called. Their television was small and had a very primitive remote control and no Streaming. Needs updating. The lobby was very nice and the waiting area also. Location very convenient if interested in the market. expect New York price for parking at $45 a night. Ben was very helpful to us concerning our bicycle. And the Bellman were also very nice and helpful. I guess I was just expecting a step above because of it being a relais e château.

The staff went above and beyond to correct some arrival issues that weren't their fault but unfortunately was Expedia's fault. I will be leaving a review on their direct site lifting these individuals up and praising them for how they took care of us. simply amazing.

We had a room with 2 queen beds. This allowed 3 people to stay which was great. The location is perfect for downtown activities.

Fabulous hotel in the heart of historical Charleston!
It was a romantic getaway and the staff was perfect!
We got the penthouse suite with a huge soaking tub and large separate shower!! We also had a Veranda ( somewhat underwhelming) but still access to the outside.
We had a built in wet bar to create craft cocktails! And a complimentary bottle of champagne!
The concierge made reservations for us for some special meal!
The suite was quiet and lux!
We are going back again!!

Planters Inn was conveniently located to everything which was close by,
However rooms in the detached building were not as nice and we requested to be changed as the rooms did not depict what the photos were presented upon making the reservation.
Overall the location is the main attraction however rooms are very basic. Although beds were comfortable.

Suggestion would be to lessen overnight parking cost. There is limited parking in that area.

Planter's Inn is a very nice property in the heart of Charleston and right at the edge of the historic district. The staff was very attentive and the restaurant excellent for both dinner and breakfast.

This place was a small operation where the few folks know well the usual guest needs and handle them quite efficiently. The valet service was great. Everyone is friendly. It is a comfortable place with a B&B feel. Our room was not small for being right in the center of the city. Our room and bathroom were clean and always replenished with drinking water. I would say even for not having a pool, this is still better value in town after having seen the top known luxury hotels across from each other up further North on King Street. I would stay here again.
