We went for a day trip and concert. I wasn’t told parking was not included and thought valet was a bit pricey and our heat was stuck on like 85-90 which was really uncomfortable

Great access to downtown!! The staff were very helpful and accommodating! We had as small issue with our room and they took care of it immediately!

The hotel is modern, well located, friendly staff. The restaurant is expensive ($8.00 bucks a cappuccino!) but just across the street you have the Quincy Market where you can find many food options at a reasonable price. The downtown and all the attractions are at walkable distance or you can take the subway closely to reach any point in the city. There are plenty of traditional pubs in the area, like the Black Rose, with Irish music and good traditional pub fare.

Made the res for my daughter who was traveling alone to see friends in Boston. She had a great corner room and was safe and comfy for her stay, which she deserved! Glad I could get her settled there for the trip and relieved my worries for her to be in a safe spot!

Staff were Great. Our stay was amazing. Thank you to the whole team.

Check in was done at home but then charged us $50 upon arrival for early check in. Front desk was consistently rude and dismissive. Everything was an upcharge. We stayed in a corner room the size of a closet with absolutely no view unless we paid $39/night extra (we did not). The fridge only accommodated items for purchase…it was an extra $20 for a regular mini fridge. We requested ice as the ice machine was shut down; no ice was ever delivered. TV remote was glitchy requiring you to unplug/plug in TV. The best thing about this property was its location and it was quiet. Would NOT stay here again.

This hotel is perfectly located to see Boston. Next to Faneuil Hall and Quincy market, everything is in walking distance. The staff is excellent, the facilities are clean, we really enjoyed having a fireplace in our room. This will always be our hotel when we go to Boston. Worth every penny.

Quite noisy hotel and its not the traffic. It’s the AC that bummers every 15th minute and you will wake up during the night. You will also be a part of your neighbor's life, shower, toilet, talking etc.
Add a very poor wifi on top of this.
Only good thing is the location.
But I will recommend you to find another hotel.
500 USD per night - you can stay at Intercontinental for the same price.

The restaurant automatically added a 20% gratuity to my bill and argued with me when i told them to take it off. Last time I ate there

We love the Bostonian!! Front desks staff, the uniformed service attendants - all were welcoming, helpful - just excellent! Location is perfect as there’s no need for a car since there are so many great places to see within walking distance. The only recommendation is that they upgrade some of their furniture, including sliding doors that are in disrepair. Even with those issues this place is still our #1 choice to stay in Boston.

Very high priced , great location and much needed to be tended to .... particularly for this price range.

When I tried to check in at 12;30pm, they wanted to charge $50 for an "early checkin". I've traveled to hotels all around the world and never heard of an "early checkin" fee. Then, valet wouldn't park my car since I have a pickup truck. They wanted me to take the cover off my truck bed and expose the entire truck bed due to potential vandalism.

Well, I stay in Boston atleast 4 times a year and have stayed at many hotels across the city. This is the worst one ever. Upon arrival the desk staff didn’t even look up or greet us . Just said what’s your name. We are then told our room is ready, however it we want to enter before 3 pm it is a $50 charge . I have never in all my years traveling been told my room was ready but there is a fee enter before a certain time .
We did not pay and went out to have lunch . It is 12:30 pm when we arrived at the hotel . After returning later in the evening to get our room key a new front desk staff member again followed suit by not looking at us . I told her we had already checked in . She asked for my ID but never took it or looked at it and then appeared confused sighing saying she’s looking for my reservation.
We finally get our room keys and go to the room . The hallway stinks like must. The room smelled just as bad and was dirty . To top it off the ac was broken and a free standing machine was in the room venting out the window . Apparently this is an issue on half the building that management hasn’t addressed for months . We had a lovely view of the dumpsters and garbage cans. We met some nice folks at the restaurant bar who shared the same displeasure with the rude, dismissive staff .
This place is obviously run down with no genuine care from management to make necessary improvements. This place doesn’t even deserve a 1 star. Go elsewhere a hostel would be better than here

*Location! Location! Location! It is sooo close to everything!
**Andrew, the Concierge/Valet is AMAZING! So helpful and knows everything about everything. Really loved him!
***The restaurant isn't great, but there are several places to eat close by.

The location is amazing. We had a great time as a family of four definitely recommending staying there.

Before arriving I called to ask questions on parking since I was driving a truck with kayaks on a ladder rack. I reached someone mid day that couldn’t understand a simple question about the height concerns. She kept explaining valet parking. I asked if the parking was covered parking and I think she might have thought I was asking if costs were covered. So I told her I didn’t think we were defining covered parking the same so I asked it there was a roof over the parking area. Once again she started explaining they had valet parking. I finally gave up. Upon arrival, the height became an immediate issue. There was about 2” of clearance for the valet parking and I was told the self parking ($20 less) was not an option. I must say the remaining staff were incredible and very helpful. The room was ok but the carpet really needed to be cleaned or replaced. The bed mattress was shot and had deep depressions in the middle of each side. My side was the worst. I did report this as I checked out. I also had a corner room with a window on two sides. But the view from both the windows were the AC units. So the view was undesirable. I have to wonder if Hotel.com customers were assigned subpar rooms. The location was fantastic but my next trip will be at a different hotel. Boston hotels are not cheap to say the least, so I expect them to provide rooms accordingly

very convenient to everything we wanted to do. friendly staff. nice restaurant with great food.

First, the conversation of people outside the hotel can be heard in our room even with the drapes fully closed. Secondly, when asked about a charge on my credit card, the staff was not able to tell me what it is for other than to say it is a hold on my card. My rooms have been paid in full and the charge on my card is $26.14, an odd amount for a hold for incidentals. I will have to wait and see if it gets released because nothing was consumed from the mini bar.

Lots of black mold in bathroom shower floor and stall glass wall caulking! Toilet didn’t work well took maintenance long time to fix the issue partially. This is an old hotel and the price is not a good value. The only thing we liked was the location close proximity to the north end and Quincy Market.

The stay at the Bostonian Hotel was great, convenient to nearby restaurants and across its the market place and options to restaurants. My room was spacious and staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing it can be a bit noisy at night since it’s next to the market, it didn’t bother me. The AC filter definitely needed to be cleaned, overall than that it was a great stay.

we stay here a lot, always enjoy the stay but the price and all the extra fees are getting out of control

I loved how convenient the property was to the North End restaurants and bars( Faneil Hall, Union Oyster House, Hanover st, etc). The staff was nice and properly well maintained. We did receive an upgraded room which was nice. The only (minor) negative thing was I had requested an extra blanket with two different staff members because I’m a cold sleeper and never received it. Would definitely stay there again.

I’ll start off with the good. Location was great and we were able to walk to everything we wanted to do- cruise, aquarium, dinning, and freedom trail to name a few.
The staff was decent, they were helpful but not as welcoming. Can’t blame them when they’re stressed with all the issues beyond their control.
All ice machines were not working. There were many people facing many different issues when we were there in need of a room change. We were one of them. We were trading stories. One person kept getting a room where another guest already settled in. One person got a room where bathroom lights were not working. We didn’t have AC, it was a warm room but luckily not hot. We couldn’t get another room and we had little kids. It was awful. They gave us a square fan and compensated a night out of two nights. Still waiting for the refund.
It was a shame. So surprised it is a 4 diamond hotel. Aside from the issues mentioned it is not maintained well. It’s dirty and things are visibly broken. It’s an old building granted but not maintained. Very disappointed.

Our stay was made 1000 times better by the front desk clerk shanti. She upgraded our room on my birthday.

A lot more worn than in the pictures. Also has the smell of old cigarette smoke throughout. Needs updating.

Very unfriendly staff, didn’t offer us any VIP service . Property is extremely outdated. Room is dirty. The window in the room doesn’t close due to a mobile air conditioning unit in the room !

Ice machine was not working and they didn’t really care. Middle of winter I wouldn’t care too much.

It was convenient to Quincy Market/Fan. Hall and free bottled water in the lobby, but that’s where the positives stop pretty much. It was an older hotel and could use updates in the rooms. Carpet was stained. Wall behind desk had stains on the wallpaper from lord knows what. Dated decor. Bathroom was typical hotel bathroom and was clean but water pressure in the shower was awful. Toilets flushed so loud though you could hear every toilet in all the rooms around you. Along with their TVs and doors opening/closing. AC was super loud. Woke me every time it turned on and off. TV remote was broken. You had to squeeze the back cover tightly for the remote to work. 2 Vodka/ sodas in their restaurant/bar cost $36 before tip! I’ve never paid so much for a drink in my life. We didn’t eat in the hotel’s restaurant so I don’t know how the food was but I’m guessing expensive. We only had limited contact with staff but the couple we dealt with , briefly, were pleasant. $62 per night valet parking was extremely steep as well. We won’t stay at the Bostonian again. It just wasn’t worth the cost.

Think it’s ridiculous that you should have to pay extra for an early check-in if there is a room available. Have stayed here numerous times but hotel beginning to look tired. Still waiting for once as a Gold member of hotels.com to be offered any kind of perk from a hotel.

The staff were very pleasant and easy to talk to. They charged my credit card for valet parking. I didn't bring a vehicle. They took the charge off immediately and apologized. Area around the hotel had many dining and shopping options and was very close to TD Gardens. We are looking forward to our next trip to Boston and will definitely stay there again.

Happy with our stay at The Bostonian. We enjoyed our room with balcony overlooking Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. Super convenient location to get anywhere in the city. Minor issues with the room like broken ice machines and tv didn’t work one night but all the issues were quickly resolved. I would stay here in the future.

A 3 star hotel elevated by its age and location. There are better options available for the price but I did not have a negative experience.
