It was a wonderful stay our housekeeper was amazing her name was Tyisha I think that’s how you spell it. She was very helpful and polite. Your front desk associates were wonderful as well. I wish you had more rooms that accommodated disabled/ elderly with a walk in shower and a higher toilet.

This place was fantastic. I've been at other Shilo Inns and I think this one was better. A four-story building with all parking underneath the building /covered. Friendly professional staff at the front desk and the room was quiet clean dry and safe area. A handful of restaurant choices around we're all so good easy to get to the freeway only one block away but incredibly quiet and had a wonderful night's sleep I hope to have to travel through Salem again I would definitely stay here again!! I want to post photos below but hotels.com website seems to not be allowing photos and/or upload photo button is broken

Unlike other hotelsm I got the room I booked. The internet was fast enough to watch 4k streaming video. Also I needed to upload a 7gb video to YouTube since I am a YouTube content creator and it only took about 45 minutes, (about 3x as long at at home), but that is still better than most hotels where it would take hours. The room was clean and overall it was quiet. I was expecting breakfast, but I may have just assumed it had it and not looked when I booked.

Spacious and clean. But only one towel. Not in a great part of town but otherwise fine--except needing a second towel.

Everything is good, the only issue is i ask the Housekeeper to change the sheets because i stay the whole weekend and she’s said ok , and i come back kinda late and she don’t change it ! Besides that hotel is pretty decent for the price !

This hotel needs a serious renovation. Stained carpets, holes in the wall, and a gross smell of stale cigarettes. Never again.

Surprisingly large room! Nice people and good security.

The staff was courteous and helpful. Clean spot right in the middle of town.

It was a nice place. Limited parking. And a mouse wanted to race my grandson in the pool. Other than that no complaints. Staff were awesome.

The person that checked me in was great. It was in an area very conscientious to walk but walking around was scary so we ended up driving. Just a lot of open drug use around the area. Sad because not the hotels fault and it was good for the price.

We had a family trip with 3 adults and a 2 year old. We know that the rooms at Shilo Inns are usually large. This one was indeed.
The two year old had enough room for her playpen to sleep in and all of her toys. All of the adults were comfortable as well.
Staff were all friendly and helpful.
Thank you for an amazing stay

Nice, courteous staff. Tv couldn't be seen from the couch. Overall, nice visit

Comfortable bed and a good shower. Having the sink located outside of the bathroom is a big plus. We were disappointed that the breakfast has been discontinued. Coffee was cold except for early thing in the morning.

Great place to stay at the last minute at a very reasonable price.

Our room was very comfortable. Coffee available in the lobby all day! Comfortable bed!

More deplorable negligence than affordable excellence. Arrived to a multigenerstional crew of ne'er-do-wells smoking and loitering in the parking lot, loudly plotting how to sneak in additional people for the party they were going to have upstairs that evening. After signing an declaration that I would pay a $350 fine if I dared to smoke in the room, I was issued a room that reeked of smoke, though they did move us to one that didn't when I requested it. Upon trying to exit my new room for the first time there was literally a big German Shepherd unaccompanied in the hallway, which began to bark aggressively at me and my kids... I was excited to see they had a steam room and sauna, but those were locked and out of order / unavailable for use. On the plus side, they have a pook and there is a Wunderland and a (better) Pietro's Pizza Arcade (with Laser Tag) within 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel, which makes it better for families. They're also many other conveniences and restaurants nearby. The staff was trying their best to manage the dilapidated hotel and chaotic clientele, to their credit.

Bad area of town with lots of homeless and all of their stuff camped out on the sidewalk. And houses back one side of the hotel which our room happened to be on - and hours straight their stupid dog was incessantly barking. The toilet kept going on making noise off and on all night. The two upholstered chairs by the table were smelling like mildew. And worse than any of the many other issues was the horrible beds - hard like rocks and weird metal squeaking. Never will go here again and certainly do not recommend to anyone.

Checkin was excellent. Great guy at the Reception

The elevator was "broken". We had to climb 3 flights of stairs every time. No offer of any kind of ADA alternatives was offered.
2.5
Check in was easy and fast. The elevator was not working for our stay. We were on the 3rd floor and had to tote our bags up and down.

Bad:
>The original room to which we were assigned had a faulty heater, and we were assigned to another room.
> At 3:30 a.m. a drunken neighbor and partner made a hell of lot of noise - yelling, laughing, talking, etc.
Good: The room that we ended up in was great: king size bed, microwave, fridge, couch, etc.

Easy access off I-5 and very affordable rates

You get what you pay for. If you need a place to sleep it meets that requirement. If you want anything more, maybe not.
We slept there for the night and moved on.

This hotel maybe once was nice but no longer. We had a large room on the 3rd floor and learned upon check in the elevator didn’t work. The beds were very springy and 2 of the 3 pillows on my bed smelled of sweat. I didn’t use them.
The indoor swimming pool was too cold to use though the hours were open early and close very late.
We were able to get snacks very nearby so that was nice but the neighborhood was VERY sketchy.
I washed my hair the day we left but found the hairdryer didn’t work either.
The restaurant is located directly in front is probably one of the very best restaurants in town. A nice plus.
Rent with low expectations and you won’t be disappointed.

Very filthy in hallways and outside , we had 2nd floor , can't walk very well and no working elevator , drug deals going on in the parking lot at night

The elevator was down, the hotel is severely outdated and upkeep is limited.

It’s one of the cheapest in Salem….For a reason. We had clumps of hair in most of the room corners. There was a molded French fry behind the door, black mold on the bathroom ceiling and the Elevator out of service. The houses behind had the hotel had blaring music until around 11pm. Only saving grace was how polite and friendly the staff were.

This is our favorite place to stay in the Salem Oregon area! We love that the bedroom is separate from the kitchenette/sitting area/dining table. Not just the run-of-the-mill hotel room. The pool and hot tub, the breakfast, the friendly and efficient staff really make it the best option!

Elevator was not working.
No breakfast as stated

The location was fine, tucked away right off a major thoroughfare. The room was actually quite nice and a great value for the money. There were a few water stains on the ceiling but that can happen. i was under the impression the hotel is either coasting and letting the property die before selling, OR they are investing in the property. The pool was cold, but decent. The pool was the only amenity we really used that was operational, also the only amenity that was marketed. There were other amenities not operational, however, they were not listed so i am only mentioning that they may be up and running later, but for my visit they weren't... but they again weren't marketing as having them so nothing really lost. The Sauna, Hot Tub, and Steam rooms were all out of commission. So if you're into those amenities, maybe call ahead to make sure you know what you're getting when you book.
The staff were all very VERY friendly, sometimes unexpectedly. I even left my phone charger in my room ($80 value) and when i called and then came to the front desk to retrieve, it was there at the desk waiting for me. So the staff is kind but also seemingly honest.
I would stay here again, especially for the value. Really great rooms for the price. The property overall is just either on its way up or out.

Stayed on the 3rd floor. The elevator was broken. Inconvenient location. Staff was nice. Room was clean. Price was great

The room itself was fine. The area was sketchy and the condition of the entire hotel was outdated. Both the elevator and pool were out of order.

Elevator was broke. Had to climb stairs to come and go. No warning while booking room.

I appreciate the price, but no elevator access was not disclosed until after we checked-in and there is a NO refund policy. I don’t think it’s right they don’t post that on the website or before check in and then tell us there’s a no refund policy. My father is disabled and cannot climb 3 flights of stairs. So he couldn’t stay in the extra room I booked him. I believe that’s false advertising and just bad business. The hotel is close to lots of restaurants and stores, so that was nice.

Room had lots of space and price was excellent. Downfalls…. Pool was not in service nor was elevator

Was in a junior suite for four nights. Nice queen bed sectioned off from kitchenette area that had microwave mini fridge and a coffee pot, as well as a sink cupboards a nice size counter and drawers. In that area was also a couch some end tables and a chair. The couch transformed into a bed and our boys loved that as well as how much room there was four of us stayed comfortable no one in our bubble. Last night finally pool was open and until midnight that was amazing!!! No elevator which sucked for luggage purchases only really. We had been paying around 90 a night until that night it doubled to 183 that was RIDICULOUS to me…. Most reception were knowledgeable and courteous a couple arrogant and rude… overall we enjoyed our stay
