A fabulous resort getaway in a large nature area with beautiful walking trails and great restaurants

If you stay in the "Main Hotel Section" it looked to be very nice. We were put in "The Villa's of Imelia Island" They are ran by Omni Hotel but are located all around the the huge property. Out 1 bedroom villa took us almost an hour just to fine it. It shares a pool with 10 other villa's. The pool was never touched the 3 days we were there. The grounds had the same trash laying around for 3 days. The room smelled of mold so bad that we bought air freshner and candles to cover it up. The resteraunts were fine and the Omni Hotel pools were wonderful.

We had an amazing time, but our room was subpar. There was a dead roach on the floor by the bed that scared our daughter, and we had no Internet or television nor did we have a working room phone in the room (room 2320). The television turned on, but because the Internet did not work, we couldn’t use it. It was reported to the front desk after check-in when my husband had to go into the lobby bar to find Internet to work while we were out shopping, and we were assured it would be fixed, but it never was. Makes it difficult to entertain the kids while we’re getting ready for bed, etc. when they cant watch television or play on their iPads without internet. They was a struggle.

The villas are a smaller portion of the much larger Omni Resort of Amelia Island. When I found the listing on Hotels. Com the impression I got was that it was a multi-unit hotel facility with some villa type accommodations. I did not realize that it would be so grand. In truth it is very impressive and nice accommodations, but one reason I booked it was because of the swimming pool and hot tub availability for guests. We did have a pool just outside of our villa and we did try it, but it was too cool to use for any length of time in 80 degree temps. The hot tub was apparently part of the spa/fitness center a while ride away and for an extra fee. More importantly my spouse and I are both mobility challenged, and to access our villa we had to use several steps. Our note to the managers on the hotels.com booking site was apparently ignored.
All in all we did enjoy our stay here, but next time we are in Amelia Island, we will more likely stay in a VRBO booking or a traditional hotel.

We have been visiting this property for the past decade. The entire property is a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is very safe, the area is very walkable or easy to get around on the golf carts. The renovated pool area is very inviting. We have nothing but positive memories of family trips here.

The staff was amazing from check in to check out. It is a beautiful resort. The bartender by the pool was amazing and attentive. Our view was fantastic.

Went back for a reunion and got to stay right on the beach in sandcastles! It did not disappoint! Nice room! Loved the night swim in pool. Evening stroll on beach ! Way better experience here than at Omni in downtown Indianapolis . Room much larger and nicer at Amelia!

The is my favorite hotel.

Overall a good experience. Small things for a plush resort. Large planters out front with dead plants. Only 1 small trash can in the room, no other trash cans. Room could use an update.

Great room(s). Nicely furnished and well maintained condo. Nice view of ocean in 209. Very strong air conditioner. All appliances work well. Really like the second floor close proximity to pool and quick walk to ocean. Beach was very nice with very little crowd. Family friendly and good for older folks too.

Another great stay at Omni Amelia Island. The staff are friendly, the shuttle is convenient, and the on-site dining is delicious. We stayed in the Tennis Villas, and it was perfectly located in a quiet area of the property.

Need more options of restaurants and shops
Signage when around property could be better to find places an things. Kinda confusing
Over all stay was nice
Our villa 213 air conditioning was loud turning on an off but it could just be it was next to the bedroom.
Great view
Great staff
Had massages at spa.....was good but pricey
The tip for the staff should be at your option not an already taken on tip

Property is laid out like Disney World with waking paths through trees and greenery. Huge resort! Nice amenities. Dining is good but pricey. Great place for families.

Going to be honest , we had a good time regardless. However the sandcastle villas are in desperate need of repairs. Cracked tiles broken windows. Pool was always full of sand. The fake plants in the room are in need of a good wash. I have asthma we had to place them out in the balcony. In need of new mattress they were vey bumpy in spots.we made the best of it, just letting everyone beware it’s not the ritz Carlton.

Tennis villa is a great location if you are playing tennis which I was. Overall it was good but not great - the bigger units looked much nicer than just the bedroom and bath that I had.
Amelia Island plantation is a beautiful property and fun to visit.

The elevator broke on the evening of our arrival it was not fixed when we left, 4 days later. The building has 7 floors and were on 3rd floor, a bit of a hassle to carry luggage down the stairs! There was a mini fridge and coffee maker bit no microwave which would be useful. The roos were in a fair condition, beds not comfy! The location is perfect right on the beach, bring your own beach chairs and umbrella or you can rent them at the Omni resort next door for $90 per day. The Omni resort is a beautiful property, delicious drinks at the bars.

I stayed in the Villas. The view and proximity to the beach were excellent. The room was ok. The beds were alright. The pillows were hard. The bathroom was a nice size although the tub looked worn and the bathtub would drain very slowly. The room looked as it no one had stayed there in a while. The cups and coffee maker looked dusty. They provided paper towels, a microwave, a mini fridge and a small sink on a counter next to the bed. That was convenient. Overall the stay was good however the price was a lot. You are paying for the view and proximity to the beach. Which is wonderful but I probably wouldn’t stay there again because of the price.

I will definitely stay here again. The villa kitchen was stocked with cooking items (with the exception of an oven mitt) The elevator broke on the second day we were there and two days later when we left from the third floor, it was a bit of a hassle. It was 4th of July so understand getting parts was difficult, but there was no notice on the elevators.

The view from my room was awesome. The staff was very accommodating. I slept well other than the 4th of July there were some late night fireworks.

The villas are very far from everything else. Pool and pool area wasn’t super clean. Need a golf cart to rent to get around easier.

My wife and I love to visit Amelia Island. In fact, she introduced me to the area in 2005. The dining options, transportation , shopping, and spa (Leah has magic hands) are exceptional, in my opinion. We could literally stay there a week and never have to leave the property. The only problems we had with this last visit was 1) our phone didn’t work. I called the operator for assistance twice, but never got it fixed, and 2) we had a wasps nest outside the door of our villa. This is something I never thought about when I made my reservation (we usually stay in the hotel). I was sure we would get stung before the weekend was out, but we got lucky. Other than that, everything was fine.
