As well seasoned travellers, this hotel stay has been a wonderful surprise. The staff are excellent and very friendly and helpful. The location is superior and the facilities outstanding.

Everything about the hotel was spot on. We were met at reception by Nicholas who couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Plenty of public parking spaces opposite the hotel entrance . Our room and the hotel was very clean and nicely decorated Excellent breakfast, would highly recommend, good value

This is a lovely hotel. It is right on the Loire and very central. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room is impeccably clean, with a comfortable bed. It is completely quiet at night with brilliant curtains that keep the light out. Breakfast is delicious and great value. We found parking to be fairly easy and we found a spot opposite the hotel. Saumur is a beautiful city and we had a fantastic visit. I highly recommend Hôtel Anne d'Anjou.

We stayed over on our way down to Biscarosse. The hotel is beautiful, wonderful friendly staff and very nice rooms like a home from home. The pool was lovely after a morning exploring the castle and local squares etc. I would absolutely recommend.

The swimming pool was TINY, pictures are deceptive. it was overrun with children the entire time we stayed, we didn’t find a single time to use it where we could even get in and out of the water with ease around the family that had taken over the area. Their swimming items were strewn along the edge of the pool area drying - towels, swimsuits, dressing gowns - everything. So it wasn’t picturesque it was a families washing line. The carpet in the room is the type that should be used on heavy traffic hotel corridors and airport lounges. It felt horrid underfoot, was made from plastic and was not nice to get out of bed on to. There was nothing luxurious or nice about it. It felt cheap. The curtains in our room had holes in all over. The cleaning products used within the hotel didn’t seem eco friendly. The bathroom products weren’t refilled, the coffee machine used single use pods that go to landfill. Sachets of all things to accompany it. The restaurant wasn’t equipped, nor would it accommodate vegetarian diners nevermind vegan diet. In this day and age this should be basic provisioning. Having ran chalets in France for ten years, this is easily doable and should be accommodated. Local supermarkets contain plenty of options to offer an vegan breakfast so I have no idea why this is so difficult or why cheese containing rennet as a vegetarian option is suggested. We arrived on a very hot day +32 to check in, and we had to stand waiting a long time while given dining suggestions.

Fantastic Hotel and met all our expectations. Room was very good. Breakfast was superb. Very good value! Bar area very comfortable and drinks reasonably priced. Beautiful art deco style hotel with an amazing staircase. Very clean and tidy hotel. Staff were brilliant! Will definitely be staying here again particularly as the partner restaurant located across the courtyard was fablulous.

This a wonderful hotel facing the Loire on the front and Chateau Saumur on the back. It was a clean and luxurious and the staff are excellent. I will stay here if I come back to Saumur!

The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much for them. The hotel and gardens felt truly french style. Our room was very well appointed with great view of the courtyard. I stayed here for my 50th Birthday! I had a truly magical experience. The staff were so helpful & friendly. The breakfast was nice. The view from the pool of Chateau Samuer was surreal like a fairtytale. Great location, amazing view!

Exceptionally helpful, accommodating, friendly and professional staff. Every person we encountered over three days was remarkable. Breakfast is wonderful with lots of great options. The pool with a view of the castle is a special place. I got up early. Sat in the courtyard alone with the birds and read a book whilst drinking French coffee. I’ll remember that in the cold dark days of winter. We’re already planning our return.

The property was lovely and clean and tidy, with lovely staff (with good English). Breakfast was good. We were expecting to be able to park in their car park, however it only had space for about 12 cars and it was full when we arrived (and they charge). We managed to park quite easily in the nearby carpark (which was free). There was no restaurant for an evening meal and most of the towns restaurants are closed on a Sunday and Monday (which we had no idea). The hotel staff recommended two, one, which was fully booked and the other that required a drive (or hotel taxi) to, but we'd been driving most of the day. We walked into town and found somewhere to eat, which was lovely. We did the town train to see the sights which was lovely, but feel that one day here was enough for us.

Our room was accessed from a delightful courtyard. Staff were lovely and attentive. Just feels perfectly French. Breakfast is the normal French continental with fresh croissants and bread. Partner restaurant (L’Essential) is very special for an evening meal and adjoins the property but book ahead. Great stay.

Lovely hotel - had a real boutique feel. Staff were very friendly and the room had a great view over the river, very comfortable and spacious bed and airconditioning which was lovely. Close to the centre of town. Pool was very well maintained, it's small but we had a nice time there.
