It was a very nice place and we enjoyed our stay, Only issue was the middle of the bed wasn't very comfortable because of the bumps created by joining the beds together. Also not as clean in some areas of the bathroom. Other than that it was a lovely hotel.

Great price for one night (near Stowe). Reception staff welcoming and warned me about tight parking in courtyard ( you drive through an archway which is a tight turn but if take it slow is no issue. We stayed in room 102 which was a large double. Very clean, had 2 hairdryers, iron board, tea/coffee etc. need to remember this is a 500 year old building so lots of character and some creaky floors. If you are type of guest who wants no noise when walking around go elsewhere! Loads of storage in room. Bathroom has shower over bath ( my only desire would be to have had a shower cubicle rather than bath but that’s personal choice). Food offerings plentiful and very reasonable prices. Cooked to order. Very attentive and cheerful staff in bar/ restaurant. Good location in Buckingham with a small fruit/veg market and separate flea market in the Saturday. Would stay again if in the area

Lovely room with plenty of space. Restaurant was very nice and the breakfast was excellent

Great location and staff. Hotel a little worse for wear and the breakfast was frankly terrible. Would stay again but it has an aspirational price point given the state of the property.

It was an ideal location for my weekend trip.

The hotel staff were super friendly, the hotel itself was well located and only 2 mins walk from Buckingham centre. We arrived late but still found it easy to park.
My only suggestion for improvement was the bed - we both had a very uncomfortable nights sleep and woke full of aches as the mattress was so unforgiving. I’d put sleep quality above everything else so this would probably deter me from returning which is a shame as everything else was great

After being recommended this hotel and being close to family we were visiting we had high hopes. Unfortunately we were disappointed from check in. We did not receive the same courtesy as the couple in front of us checking in, the room itself was spacious enough but there was no toilet roll in bathroom ( which we had to ask staff for on 2 separate occasions as it was not replaced first time) and the kettle was truly broken ( these should have been picked up on cleaning the room) the lack of fridge and ridiculously small tv was also disappointing as I am gluten free and use only oat milk. Im the morning after an uncomfortably warm night we went to breakfast where I asked if there were gluten free options and was told “ we have loads of options” upon enquiring it turns out there is only the option of gluten free bread white or seeded. No cereal options, no pastry options, the fruit salad bowl would serve maybe 4 people at a time so that too was empty.
Generally we would say the staff all seemed friendly enough until we started to speak then we felt shunned as we did not seem to be receiving the same treatment as the other guest and our only difference was our Scottish accent. I regret I did not ask the servers name for breakfast on Saturday morning as she was the most friendly and efficient member of staff I’d say you have. We will visit Buckingham again as our family is there but we shall not stay in the Villiers again. An average hotel with below average service.

Was meant to be a relaxing staycation. It was fairly relaxing and we checked out at reception straight after breakfast and confirmed we’d enjoyed our stay but when we got home I had a couple of missed calls from hotel. (I actually assumed I’d left something behind.) When I rang back the receptionist told me 2 coffees had been ordered at breakfast and charged to my room. I explained it wasn’t us and that we’d prepaid for full breakfast and had our coffee with our breakfast so definitely didn’t order those coffees. Apparently nobody signed for the coffee and it was noted as our room number. At this point after explaining we’d prepaid full breakfast and had coffee included with this and didn’t need coffee in our room as we checked straight out I thought this would be accepted but no. She will discuss with management and get back to me. Again i emphasised that it definitely was not us who ordered coffee and as they didn’t have my signature I was pretty angry about being accused of not paying for coffee when I had coffee included in my full breakfast and also it should have been put to me when I checked out at reception. We left it that she would check cctv and discuss with management which will solve her problem but my stress free night costing £120 has turned into a headache.

This hotel has deteriorated in the last 12 months.
Poor experience checking in. Both rooms provided were doubles but twins had been booked. Alternative rooms were then provided quite quickly but what would have been the case if the hotel had been full.
One room then had a shower leak so we needed to move again.
The waste bin on one room had not been emptied from a previous guest and the shelves in the bathroom were full of dust.
No intructions were provided reagaring access after 11pm.

Great stay. Perfect location for visiting Silverstone.

Attentive and friendly staff, doing their best to help. Due to a mix up I was given a twin room when I had reserved a double, not sure how that happened and nothing could be done as hotel was full. Otherwise was a nice stay and I managed to sleep without falling out of bed.

Breakfast is decent. The rooms are often dusty, particularly the bathroom

Brilliant staff, room was a great size but very rough around the edges.
Good breakfast & restaurant.
2.0 / 5.0
Would have been a higher rating but for a couple on niggly things. Firstly if you want sweeteners with tea and coffee take your own. They don't have them. The breakfast is sparse, half a mushroom is a bit mean and the continental is cereal, bread, a few pastries and some yoghurt and some chpped fruit. No croissants, pain au chocolate, meat, cheese or even an apple, an irange or a banana.
The most bizzare thing is that despite the bar and restaurant being immediately adjacent to each other you cannot get anything off the restaurant in the bar. The bar menu has no desserts thereon, so eat in the bar and you are not allowed a dessert. Strange in the extreme. Otherwise this is a really nice hotel with a lot of character with pleasant, welcoming staff. Despite my moans I would stay again without hesitation.

The 3 course meal in the restaurant was very tasty, well-balanced and great value for money. Hotel staff were all courteous and helpful. Only downside was the traffic noise as our room was at front of hotel, otherwise, a great weekend stay.

Good location and nice food , great for staying just outside MK without the MK costs

Very comfortable small town hotel. Friendly service, good breakfast but a little short staffed in the bar at night.
3.0 / 5.0
Reception and subsequent dealings with the reception staff was excellent.
Good parking although a bit of a trek to the hotel for those who find walking difficult. No 'drop luggage' arrangements.
Bar staff were good and the bar service was also good. Difficulty in getting music turned down in the bar area or even getting suitable music played to facilitate easy conversation in an empty bar!
The continental breakfast was very poor and not worth the money. No fruit salad available at 08:45 in the summer!

Very pleasant staff, the receptionist who checked us in was extremely helpful & pleasant, we couldn't find our room, it was only her third shift, she went & found it & then showed us where it was.

Excellent central location with parking. Rooms are fine but beds/bedding functional rather than comfy. Needed to ask for my VIP silver benefit reward - not protectively given

An historical building, with an interesting history. Staff very friendly. So that when a couple of things went wrong, staff smiles went a long way!

Bathroom and its amenities were excellent.
I would suggest they give the carpet a bit extra if a clean, especially he edges and corners.
1.5 / 5.0
Hotel was OK, but nothing special. Bed had 'roll together' and the pillows were hard and too fat. We were not given the VIP upgrade or offered the 2 complimentary drinks. We couldn't even have a cup of tea in the morning as they hadn't left any milk. A really disappointing stay. Reception staff were very friendly and pleasant though. Overall, I wish we had saved money and gone to a Premier Inn though !

Beautiful large room a little dated but that didn’t effect my stay … the hotel was lovely as was the food
1.5 / 5.0
I was aware the hotel is in an historic building but the noise from other rooms was too noticeable and I had a terrible nights sleep as a result. It was a pity the Wi-Fi in my room was also not working- but my reporting of this was courteously handled by the front desk.
2.5 / 5.0
Lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Free parking in close proximity to the hotel, good bar area and very nice freshly cooked to order breakfast (as well as buffet style continental options). Large comfortable room with all facilities, but condition of the bathroom was not in keeping with the rest of the hotel

Air Con did not cool the room which was very hot
