Always stay at the Sutton Place when visiting Vancouver, which is often. However, this trip the room showed small signs of wear and tear. Once again the heater didn't work, but it was fixed. Bathroom amenities very sparse (no cotton balls, qtips, soap and no magnifying mirror). Kitchen was clean, but no paper towels. While these seem minor, it's sometimes in the details. Checking out. Was told I would receive a itemized bill emailed, never received. Overall it's still a nice hotel, good location and pleasant staff.

The location of the hotel was central to everything we needed everything was within walking distance our suite was perfect for for our little family. Loved the stay

The check in was a mess. We were given a wrong room when we checked in. We had to get it switched but the charges were never corrected during the switch. We ended up paying the wrong amount (Higher than quoted by Hotels.com).

At check in 2 oversights . First, the keys were not correctly programmed so they all failed. Second, I find it’s nice to confirm the rate I’ll be paying. This was missed on both occasions I’ve checked in, tonight and on September 16.
By the way, both times I’ve checked in, the fellows who welcome you upon arrival were very friendly & helpful.(Alex this evening and Stuart earlier this week) . Well done and many thanks. Also, There was an attempt to sell me an upgraded room however other than there increased cost & higher floor, the check in fellow did not state the benefits of upgrading to the room.

Check In
Arrived at 10 NOT expecting to be given a room as we knew that the check in time was 4pm. The reception staff were very hopeful that the room would be ready quickly and we would be phoned when it was. They said our room had been prioritised. So we went off for a walk. 1230 pm- no phone, no room. Room finally given at 330. Bags of rubbish were sitting in front of the room in the corridor! Considering that checkout was 12 noon, it is taking the room service an incredibly long time to do up the room.
Room
Very spacious but very dated. Wall paper peeling off in some areas. Cleanliness was average. Beds comfortable.
Location
Absolutely fantastic. Heart of downtown- next to Robson street.
Summary
Great potential. Let down by the housekeeping and the dated decor. Not value for money (I paid nearly £450 per night)!
4.4
The furniture in the suite was dated and not very comfortable. The bed was comfortable and housekeeping was excellent.
4.4
Everything was great, it is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. Parking is a bit pricey
4.4
Rooms were solid. A little dated but they were clean and functional and a great price.
4.4
Prime location in the heart of Downtown Vancouver. Stayed in the suites. Very spacious and comfortable to fit our family of 6. Amenities available. Convenient and easy.
4.4
Property was clean and comfortable. We liked having a full kitchen with the kids. Close to shopping and grocery store and walking distance to the ocean.

Overall it is a very good hotel

La Grand Residence is conveniently connected to The Sutton Place Hotel, which allows for the use of all the same facilities. The residences provide a small apartment with all the necessary amenities. A small kitchen with a small oven and fridge, dishes, cutlery etc. There is a separate dining area and spacious living room. The separate bedroom is a bonus with lots of closet space. There is a balcony as well.
The residences are a bit older and not as fancy as the hotel, however the extra space and reasonable price definitely makes up for any minimal shortcomings.
The housekeeping staff were very accommodating and efficient.
The location is close to everything downtown and is just a short walk to the waterfront. So much to do in the area!

Property is like in the center of the city so, it is closed to the pier and about 40 minutes from the airport. There are a lot of good restaurants around the area and shopping / stores.
Great place no complains.

The staff was pretty nice, but the noise... oh my god. My room faced Burrard, and it was so obnoxiously loud, I had to constantly be adjusting the volume on the TV every time the AC started on the balcony, or when the ambulances from a block away pulled in or out of the hospital. There was a lot of honking outside, which obviously not their fault, but the lack of any soundproofing in the main room kind of is. I wore noise cancelling headphones to read on the couch.

Great spot, especially with young families. Close to everything, everyone is super helpful.

In the center of everything. Amazing property.
4.4
Good service good location good room with kitchen
4.4
very helpful staff, comfortable beds, very nice lobby and dining area; room was dated and sink and toilet blocked. I can see that many rooms have been upgraded, so it was a pity not to stay in one of those - overall would be happy to recommend the hotel

Great place to stay, very central to lots of amenities, will be staying again when overnighting in Vancouver
4.4
Late check in had to walk one hour.
4.4
Location wise, it was perfect for shopping, incl. grocery shopping and other landmarks like Stanley park and Canada place. Early check-in was pretty sweet but when we first arrived into our room, a washroom door had a lock issue (it didnt get locked) and there was a hair on top of amenity sets. The room couldnt be changed but these issues were fixed shortly. Wallpapers in washroom are peeling, need to be redone.
4.4
Standard of excellence service!!!
4.4
Great location, hotel and restaurant staff, and room size. My only complaint is the overall room was dated. For example, the shower in the main bathroom could use a complete remodel instead of a newer style rainfall type without wand option.

Very nice

The 2 bedroom suite is pretty spacious and comfortable for family vacation. Pool and gym are well maintained. A good stay overall.

Great location

Good size 2 bedroom apartment. Nice hotel. Staff happily stored our luggage for few hours as well.
4.4
Staffs are very polite and courtesy at the minute you arrive from the curve side assistants to the receptionists and everyone else throughout the hotel. The suite is very nice, love it.

We enjoy oye stay

The room was so dirty and dusty

Great location! Lovely property, although the residences side is a bit older. Pool and gym a bit dated. Pool was also down for a few days I was there, alternate pool provided was bit of a walk. Parking on site expensive. Prime spot in downtown Vanouver right by Robson. Great staff and services. House keeping was great. Enjoyed my stay!
4.4
Perfect place to stay for our family trip to Vancouver. Great location and easy to get to various attractions. The staff was super friendly, the room was cleaned daily (yayyyy!) there is laundry onsite and a great restaurant. I knocked one start off for “facilities” because the pool was closed 5 days of our 7 day stay…a real bummer when there were a couple rainy days that kids would have really enjoyed it. Other than that…highly recommend this hotel.
4.4
Large rooms to accommodate a family. They are a bit tiered with wall paper pealing off the wall etc.
4.4
The check-in was very busy. We got there early and was told we would get a text at 4:00pm when our room would be ready. We never received a text. When we got back to the Hotel at 4:00pm there was a huge line-up. Luck for us Pedro the doorman went to the back to got us our keys and room number, so that we did not have to wait in line again.

we stayed in the residence - room bit worn and dated.
