The staff was very nice and friendly. The room was comfortable (nice bed), and the property was kept immaculate. Nice restaurants in the hotel and fantastic breakfast. Location is steps from the beach and located in the San Andres downtown area; convenient if you like to shop and party, but not so much if you are looking for peace and relaxation (if the latter, finding something in the San Luis area would be the way to go, but no property in that area will compare to this great hotel).

We paid for an upgraded room that we didn’t get. Paid for an ocean view, king bed with an additional pullout couch and balcony. Didn’t get any of those. They couldn’t/wouldn’t compensate us at all. Was forced to share a bed with a male friend. Super uncomfortable.

Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. hot water was broken. No hot showers. Toilets in 3 different rooms did not flush properly. Maintenance tried to fix the issue and flooded the bathroom with dirty toilet water and left it not cleaned, so disgusting. The listing showed a balcony, but the room with a balcony was an additional charge, so to get the room I booked, I had to pay an additional charge. We call that a crime where I am from. Management refused to compensate me for the lack of services, and charged me extra outside Expedia for my original booking. No clue why this hotel is on Expedia.

No hot water for our stay. No compensation. Room photo was for a different room that required an up charge, so no balcony. Bait and switch. At dinner the server did not put in the order for my boyfriend. My meal arrived and I was finished with dinner before they started cooking his order so instead of a romantic dinner together, my boyfriend ate by himself while I sat and watched.

The rooms were not as advertised on Expedia. Initially, they tried to pass off a double bed as a king bed. While they eventually provided us with a room that had a king bed, it still did not match the Expedia listing, which included a balcony and a sofa bed as per room description photos. The room we received had neither a sofa nor a balcony. Aside from these issues, everything else was acceptable, and the staff were very nice, except for one manager who was a rude and blamed Expedia for the mistake.

the only real criticism I'd say was that the maid service really just made the bed, i don't think they touched the bathroom at all. Other than that, for convienience it was hard to beat.

Front desk at the check in date the big lady was very rude and make us wait until 4 pm others guests got theirs rooms much before 3 pm. The rooms are nice but the AC is very noisy and if you have a room directly on the boardwalk there’s music until 4am…

I hated staying in this hotel. they treated me like a criminal. everything was a where you going? where did you come from? so many restrictions on taking food to your room. they watch you like your going to steal something. and the breakfast is disgusting.

Hi. I liked Hotel Casablanca. It is probably one of the better hotels on San Andres. Rooms are good sized with comfortable and large beds. Rooms are relatively quiet. There is nightlife at the beach, which you can hear but is festive. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the hot water, but it has hot water. Rooms are clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. There are always English speakers available. Breakfast is plentiful and with good variety and omelets made to order. Three restaurants are tandem. Food is good. By international standards it is fine. By San Andres standards it is one of the best. I like the Hotel Casablanca and would stay again.

I was looking for an easy walk to the beach hotel, and Yes ! I got that , it is a Ocean view Hotel not ocean front, but very accessible, love the fact i can chose from the 3 or 4 restaurants right on the 1st level, I just wished the included dinner will be more flexible, Service was rather slow but it was worth it.

The front desk staff doesn’t know what they are doing. Had someone else’s reservation mixed up with ours. Rude, I was next in line and they just ignored and called other people in front of me. Water didn’t work one day but they resolved the issue within 30 minutes. Accommodations were good and convenient location.

Room was not cleaned, plumbing exploded under the bathroom faucet, electricity went out 3xs , poor Wi-Fi, super loud from the vendors below played music until 4am boom blaster , 7am music started at the beach, the stuff was nice , unfortunately the hotel lacks common sense services and repairs . Overall, this is a nice hotel. Probably one of the nicest in San Andres, but the bar here is pretty low. Things I liked: The room was in good condition, clean, and our bed was very comfortable. The A/C worked great. The food at the restaurants and breakfast buffet were very good with lots of variety. The location is central to many activities and right across from the beach. It felt safe. Things I didn't like: Breakfast technically ends at 9, so no sleeping in on vacation (bummer). The staff were hit or miss. Some people were very friendly and helpful, some would be better suited to working at the DMV. The language barrier was more of a challenge than I thought it would be. I've traveled to small towns in mexico and costa rica and managed to get by with my limited spanish. I got the impression people here weren't even trying to understand what I was saying. While the food at the restaurants was very good, the service was pretty poor. Long waits for food and no one checks on you to see if you need anything. We would be seated for 15 minutes or more before anyone even brought us a menu or took our drink orders. The the temperature of the water in the shower varies minute by minute. Cold shower or third degree burns? Spin the wheel and take your chances. TLDR; Nice hotel, but I've definitely stayed in better for less money.

Beware- no matter what room you choose on Expedia, when you check in, you will be given a room that may or may not look anything like it. We booked an ocean view room. The photos showed a large room with a couch and a balcony overlooking the ocean. When we checked in, there was a great deal of whispering amongst the staff before we were placed into a room so small that our bags did not fit on either side of the bed. There was a window and no balcony. The room could not have possibly fit a couch. When we address this with the staff, we are told that the photos are “preferred rooms” and have nothing to do with the actual rooms that you may or may not be given when you check in. We understand that there is some variability in shapes of rooms and the exact view that we may receive when we book a room, however, this room was clearly not even in the same category of rooms as we had paid for. The hotel looks nice, however, the water in the sinks and showers smelled so terrible that it made it very difficult to spend time in the room. Breakfast was good. The location is incredible, but I customer service was so lacking that it was challenging to overlook

The hotel should be a 3 star (3.5 star at best), definitely not a 4 star. Convenient location - on the boardwalk/next to beach. Hotel is very outdated. You need a key to get into sliding door and many guests were having problems locking it. Hotel rooms are very basic and a bit smelly/humid. Air conditioner made noise. Lobby is very simple. The restaurant Casa Blanca was furnished nicely. 3 restaurants connected to hotel, which was convenient.
