Stayed at MGallery Rio for a week for my birthday in search of a peaceful place to relax and wind down. The place is beautiful with incredible views and garden, prefect place to relax after a long hot a hectic day in Rio.
Staff is great and welcoming, they were very helpful and offered to change my room as i was given a room close to entrance/frontyard which can be noisy to due to guests talking in front of it.
Food and breakfast is really excellent, pool and jacuzzi were great too although the deck could be refreshed.
I would definitely stay there again.

Lovely quaint hotel. Good was good and staff on the whole were good. Chilled vibe.

As always, I had an exceptional stay at the hotel. The staff proved to be exceptionally attentive, and I benefited from an unprecedented double upgrade and a late check-out. In fact, the staff were the most attentive I have ever seen, having stayed in five star hotels across the globe. The Michelin-star restaurant is to die for and the artwork is mesmerizing. I must for lovers of sophisticated boutique hotels.

We loved this hotel. A real oasis in the hills away from the amazing hustle and bustle of downtown Rio. Wonderful staff who were very happy to help you out. A lovely restaurant where we celebrated our friend’s birthday. Wonderful balcony room with a slight view of Christ Reedemer. Loved the pool and pool bar, although the cocktail making could do with some attention, and the staff there were slow. Would come back to stay if ever in Rio again.

Wonderful stay. The hotel is close to attractions but provided a welcomed respite from the city

Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, as was dinner in Tereze. Area around may seem intimidating but very safe during the day, would not venture far at night. Make sure to know your route , do not wander aimlessly as it is close to several favelas. I would request a room not on the "mountain side" as this is right beside the tram line and noisy. Spa was nice, pool was great.

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at this location! What you see in the pics are exactly what you get. I honestly cant say enough great things about this property, and the staff! Everyone was friendly, I felt completely safe, the food was good, and the pool was a vibe! The area also felt safe and walkable, I will be returning!

Very nice hotel for couples

Just an amazingly beautiful and well run small hotel with great staff stunning rooms and lush well maintained grounds. Don’t be put off by the area either - its easy to get to by Uber or taxi and great to explore if you like laid back bars in an artsy location. And safe to explore as well.

Good location in quiet, safe neighbourhood close to nearby tourist attractions. Spacious room but facilities not as modern as I expected. The pool is nice but by afternoon it gets dirty with leaves. Very good massage by Michelle. The buffet breakfast has a nice selection but more options (eggs) at the weekend. The coffee is outstanding, a nice zesty orange flavour with plenty available at reception throughout the day. One thing that did annoy me was that in the rooms, they’re are notices stating they have a project to help the environment by reducing laundry and if you don’t want your towels washed that day leave them hanging up. I put one towel on the floor for washing and left others on the hook hanging for not washing but all towels were replaced. Why have signs if you’re not going to following this?? Also it annoyed me in the restaurant that only menus were available by QR codes, it would be my preference to actually see a physical menu for ease of use. Staff were friendly and provided assistance when requested

Shic boutique hotel in great location for visiting Lapa and the surrounding area. Very trendy decor with a great restaurant. Staff were super helpful with recommendations and even booked tour tickets for us. Would gladly recommended this hotel and the rooms were beautiful.

This hotel has lovely décor and the rooms are lovely with the eye for detail to what a traveler needs. The pool area is nice clean and calm with great service. The break feast was amazing with many options. If you love interior design this place is filed with small gems of natural artwork. The spa at the hotel was a lovely treat too. The location in Santa Teresa is very central and a walk around the area feels safe.

Fabulous hotel, staff was professional and friendly, most of them speak english too. We had no problem with that.
Food and service was on point. (Kudos for having breakfast included on the room rate! ) The hotel location might be a bit too “exotic” and maybe hard to get to for some I get it, but was perfect to be on top of a hill around nature in Rio and we were at walking distance from various amazing places.
I loved the small details as the chic Brazilian decor, the papaya fruit on the tree (so we could see the bird up close), to the attention to be environmental conscious on small details as using paper instead of plastic.
Not for those looking for “old European high style hotels” this is a boutique hotel, but in any way I want it to sound like I am putting it down. I loved the place, I recommend it and would stay again. *if you can, get the room e the balcony ;)

The hotel is great, and the neighborhood is awesome. Service is very good. My only problem was crediting the points. Accor didn’t credit any points from my stay, because I booked it trough Expedia and not directly from their web page.

Very friendly and professional welcome and tour of the hotel and its amenities. Beautiful hotel with lots of original features from when it was a coffee plantation. Would definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to return when we are next in Rio

Fantastic - charming - great restaurant - loved it
4.0
I chose this hotel for its proximity to the convention center. I had not realized that this hotel was part of the Accor chain of boutique hotels, very classy residence in a historic building. Being historic, it does not have an elevator. Being on a hill there are further steps down to the very select restaurant also used for breakfast. A lot of charm, very peaceful place in a noisy city, but I was not comfortable venturing into the streets around, a mix of classic building and run-down places. The view of the city and surroundings is stunning, but to get there your taxi or Uber needs to navigate cobblestone-covered winding and steep streets, something that gets old pretty quickly. There were no neighborhood restaurants, and the hotel restaurant is very chic, nouvelle cuisine (small portions) and expensive. The room, bedding, bathroom and amenities were first-class. The wi-fi was not secure, and there were few power sockets in the room for computer and other devices. So to summarize a mixed experience of a unique property with high-end appointments in a different part of Rio (i.e. not Copacabana) but with some limitations and oddities that come with the concept.

Pool service could be better. But overall, a magnificent experience.

Friendly helpful attentive staff, amazing food, breakfast of beautiful fresh fruit, dinner beyond expectations, scenic views from room (even the shower) and dining room, spectacular grounds, appealing area around hotel, comfortable rooms. Loved it so much, stayed an extra night.

Great time but hotel is overpriced, poolside food is terrible, and they charged us for milk for our baby which I find appalling!

The hotel is in need of updating. Parts of the communal areas look tired and warn. The pool did not look clean enough to swim in.
All the prices exclude taxes, which means the final bill was a surprise, including pool side snacks and drinks. Especially when the meal in the restaurant gave me food poisoning but would not refund or provide a discount for the discomfort caused.
For someone not local, the hotel location is far from ideal.
We stayed in a couple hotels in Rio and can easily recommend a nicer, more welcoming, luxerious and comfortable for a lot cheaper.
For the price of the room, it was very basic, with no tea or coffee facilities, mini bar or decent lighting. We also had trouble using the phone.
Further to the above, we stayed at the Hotel Unique for a similar price and simply blown away with their hotel facilities, hospitality and room facilities were second to none.

Nice place in a colonial neighbourhood. Freindly staff. Some facilities could be better maintained. Some things were a bid old and worn but the overall experience was very nice. Like the breakfast a lot!

Area is beautiful, great views, hotel has very nice grounds and the staff is attentive and helpful.
It requires significant travel to many of Rios main attractions, use of private hotel car is more costly than easily available taxi.
The rooms are definitely not five stars, comfortable but basic
4.0
Really nice staff. Flexible check in time and check out time based on availability. But their English is not really good. Internet Connection from my room is close to zero and not really sure the phone is working. Junior Suite is just a little bit bigger than the Deluxe room. Don't believe the pictures.
We had to wait for a long time to have the warm water for shower. The location of our room might be the cause to blame.
