My wife and I stayed at Villas el Encanto for a week. It's a real gem.
We were looking for a quiet inn, a little off the beaten track to rest and recuperate at and use as a home base to explore the island. Our two bedroom apartment was wonderful. Martin and his staff were super, very helpful.
The villas courtyard is a tropical rainforest. The sounds of birds fills the air. It's located towards the western edge of San Miguel. It's about a 15 minute walk to the heart of downtown, 10 minutes to a public beach and two blocks to the nearest supermarket.
We highly recommend it.

This is a beautiful property, the owner is great and has a very nice staff! There’s parking in the property, and it’s located perfectly a couple blocks from the water and just adjacent to the town. A great spot for those looking for their own oasis!

This visit we stayed in the small cabin and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Very safe area. Within walking distance to a major grocery store and restaurants. Anna the owner, and her son and family live on-site and are very accommodating to anything you require. The compound is lush with vegetation. A wonderful, relaxing vacation.

The little cabin we stayed in was clean, comfortable, and the surrounding gardens green and lush with tropical birds making weird noises that was cool. Bed was comfortable and ac worked great. We enjoyed our stay.

Lovely villa style rooms with a beautiful tropical garden and shared kitchen. Our room had a balcony looking out over the trees so we could see many unique birds. Very clean and quiet. Unfortunately the pool was out of commission when we were there but I think it was temporary.

Property is beautiful. Clearly a labour of love. Shared kitchen was lacking in basic utensils. Room was dark amd main pool was closed for several days. Beds and linens were excellent. No inside sitting area in 2 br unit we were in. Would definitely stay here again.

First and foremost the owner Martin was incredible. I received a text from Expedia before I even left IAH asking what time I'd be there. I replied with a time and Martin was waiting on me when I pulled up in a taxi. Check-in was very quick! A credit card swipe and the keys were in my hand. By keys I do mean physical keys. One for the room, one for the lock box, and a RFID for the security gate.. This is a small place, but very quiet. Martin was there everyday if anything was needed. I stayed in the family villa which was 3 beds and 1 bath (shower). All the beds were comfortable and the front porch with 3 chairs and a hammock was great. You're within walking distance on resturants and an Oxxo. Check-out was just as quick as check-in. The lady called for a taxi for me which arrived in less than ten minutes. You will need your own ice and drinks as well as food. Wifi was reliable. I didn't experience any interruptions. A 5 gallon jug of water is provided. The only negative I had there was there was no television. I just watch movies and football on my phone. Maybe Martin will get me a TV next time. Great place!

The property is nice and quiet, filled with nature and just outside of Centro. Was very relaxing, taxis available at the end of the street - we just walked everywhere which was fine

Best kept secret on Cozumel! The staff are incredible and always go out of their way to make sure things are ok with your room and service. This year they had a 5 gallon drinkable water and that was a life saver! Loved having that there this year! We loved spending the quiet mornings drinking coffee and listening to the birds in the beautiful landscaped gardens.

This was such a charming place! It was a jungle oasis in the middle of the city! The sparkling lights and jungle sounds at night were enchanting! The room was so nice and the bathroom was luxurious!

Loved the idea of the place. Villas were nice. They were not maintaining the “jungle” garden area and the fountain in the courtyard wasn’t flowing. As a result the mosquitoes were completely out of control. We could not enjoy the outdoor porch or pool areas at all.
There’s not an on site restaurant or even any really close ones available for lunch or dinner.

This place was a Gem. Located in a quiet neighborhood, close to a local market. The staff was always helpful. The property garden and pools were amazing. We felt connected with nature at all times. The communal kitchen was well equipped. My husband and I are very pleased with our stay.

A real hidden gem! I was nervous about not staying on the beach when the main purpose of the holiday was snorkelling but the location was perfect for our 7 night stay. Away from the hustle of the town but just a 20 minute walk to all the bars, shops and restaurants, lovely luscious grounds made us feel like we were in a mini jungle. We had a hire car so could tour the island and the plentiful shore snorkelling locations! Ample parking for cars on site.
We loved our cosy cabin with plenty of wardrobe space and a kitchenette. Well decorated and really comfortable beds.
The animals are a real bonus you don’t usually get on holiday! We loved sitting on the porch with the friendly dogs.
Ana made us feel like it was a home from home and gave us recommendations.
Provided us with ample filtered water to refill our bottles so we didn’t have to buy single use plastic. Lots of mosquitos (because of the greenery) and even with big spray, a net would have been useful at night.
Great Mexican breakfast for $10pp at Silvia’s at the end of the street.
We’ll definitely stay here again if we return to Cozumel!

We stayed at an all-inclusive for several days but decided to add an additional night in Cozumel. We decided to pick a local spot near town. This hotel was perfect! We really enjoyed our stay here.

We loved our stay at Villas El Encanto. The property is beautiful and secluded, despite being just a 15 minute walk to the main plaza. I loved listening to all the birds and of course, petting the dogs. Other reviewers mentioned mosquitos, but I did not see a single mosquito during our 5 day stay, not even in the evenings. I would 100% stay here again!

Sweet place with friendly dogs that would greet you and join breakfast with you if you invite them. However make sure you bring bug spray with you as this place is occupied by mosquitoes.
Staff is friendly but reception house is often closed and empty.

Beautiful villa with a private pool and comfortable bed. You need to get a scooter or bikes to get into town for food and shopping. WiFi did not work/ had too low of a signal to connect in our room. Service was friendly. Bring your bug spray! The lush grounds attract a lot of mosquitos.

This hotel is so unique! The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the owners are super nice. My kids loved the pools and the front porch on our cabin with a hammock. It is very safe with gated parking. It's far enough from the busy touristy areas to be peaceful but also an easy walk to restaurants, bars, beach clubs, dive shops, or pretty much anything you would want.

Amazing experience with Martin, loved the jungle vibe and pool as well!

A gorgeous oasis - after leaving the beauty of the reefs and beaches, returning to a lush garden to dip in the crisp, cool, salt water pool was a level above anything I'd imagined.
The wifi was so spotty that it was practically non-existant which helped me disconnect but could be an important issue for many.
There were very few other guests which helped keep the property super quiet.
There was fresh drinking water, a very clean communal kitchen, and an extremely comfortable shaded hammock. Bring mosquito repellant.

We had a great stay at Villas El Encanto. It is situated off the main strip and easily walkable to restaurants. The staff and Martin were very helpful. They recommended great places to eat. They also have 2 pools on the property. We will be back again!

It's hard to put into words how much I loved staying here. We chose the deluxe cabin for our stay and HIGHLY recommend it. The hotel made our trip to Cozumel really special. Nothing like waking up and being able to make coffee, sit on your private porch (maybe with a pooch friend or two) and listen to the sounds of all the wild birds. It felt like an oasis, the landscaper gets a heartfelt kudos from me. I spent my most peaceful moments either on that porch or floating in the pool watching the clouds go by.
The room itself was very clean and comfortable. We loved the cabin feel. The AC worked well and the bed was firm but cozy (I prefer a firmer bed myself). It was a bit more rustic than the other hotels we stayed at but it was still my favorite. The coffee machine and toaster oven made it so we never had to rush out for breakfast in the morning. The housekeeper did a great job which we so appreciated. Check in and check out were seemless and the attandants were very kind. Will return for sure!

My husband and I decided to gift a trip to Cozumel and needed to book another night before our departure in the latter part of March. We stayed in Villa #7 and it was just what we needed. The villa had a balcony overlooking a small pool with a beautiful garden view. There are no oceanview sites on the property, but the owner and the staff were exceptionally friendly and the villa was very clean and accommodating. We want to return in June with a second booking with grandchildren. This property is a walking distance from the main drive, Melgar Street, in a more quiet area of the Corpus Christi neighborhood.

Lovely small Hotel with beautiful gardens in a quiet neighborhood. Wonderful public spaces to relax in. Shared palapa dining spaces and nice kitchens. Owned by locals who drove us to the ferry when our taxi was late. Across the street from authentic Mexican cafe and 3 easy blocks from a super market .... sweet gift shop .... Enchantment is real.
