The building is gorgeous and is lovely to be in but the receptionist was on her phone for much of check in. The bed in our room was really hard and creaky and it felt like most of the fixtures (sink, shower head, taps) were all one use away from falling off.
The breakfast situation was a bit unclear - we discovered at check out that omelettes were available every day but there was no indication in the food hall how to get them and we were always in the room for about 20 minutes before there was anyone to ask.
Location-wise it's really great and everything is walkable and the building really is beautiful

Lovely boutique hotel - definitely some photo opportunities. Staff were excellent. Thank you to Oana for sorting out my booking mistake and for all your advice. Doina in the dining room was a warm & excellent host. Lovely comfortable bed.

Lovely oldy worldy boutique hotel full of character. Awesome building full of history. Wonderful cocktail bar and restaurant in the "dungeon". Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The room was good for a single traveller, which was what i was. Clean and warm.
I would definitely use again. My kind of place but may not suit everyone.

The hotel is built in an ancient building close to the downtown. It is very well set-up, atmosphere is elegant and antique, but everything is clean and perfectly maintained and useful. Bathrooms are modern and comfortable. Our bedroom had A/C, minibar and TV.
Personnel was awesome, the Front-desk receptionist was very fun and frendly.
Position is very good, at 10 minutes walking from the restaurants, pubs and nightclubs place.

Was told at arrival I would have to move facilities. They did not have opening due to me making reservations 4-6 weeks prior (assuming because it was not made through hotel and price was less). After conversations with staff and Hotels.com, I was allowed to stay. Staff was "chilly" after this encounter. Room was nice. Neighborhood was sketchy at night.

I loved this hotel. I would definitely recommend the hotel to travelers, but only if you can navigate the streets (either by walking or by bus or by metro)
The staff told me that the hotel is about 130 years old, and it still has this old-world charm. But the room was fully up-to-date, with air conditioning (which is not always the case in Eastern Europe), and very clean. The staff was wonderful, though sometimes we had to work at the language barrier a little bit (sadly, it's my fault. I only speak American English and am not bi-lingual).
It was a quiet, peaceful stay on a quiet street. The area around the hotel is probably normal for Bucharest, but felt a bit run-down for the American suburban-ite. It was safe, and we walked everywhere, even late into the evening. We simply had to get past our American expectations.
I did not eat in the restaurant, so I cannot speak to that.

Great staff! Beautiful building. Excellent breakfast. Walkable to most sights.

I would say that it is now Great Antique Hotel rather than Boutique as it feels really outdated, lots of elements of decoration and furniture need replacement with new ones. Breakfast is OK, they do not serve any food at lunch or dinner. Service is friendly. I had one of the best Romanian wines from their bar and enjoyed it at the patio. Luckily it was a beautiful evening, it was peaceful and quiet.

Liked it. Clean. Gorgeous. Staff bent over backwards to cater to my whims. Decor, vibe made my friends briefly wonder whether some uninvited famed vampire will possibly visit my room during the dusk ‘til dawn period.
Will definitely return. Highly recommend it.

Definitely have to say as a first time traveler to Romania these accommodations were perfect. You are in the central part of the city but perfectly located on a quiet street. Rooms extremely comfortable, very welcoming staff, and fantastic breakfast. Highly recommend.

I would recommend the hotel . It’s an interesting, historic hotel and is walking distance from the Old Town and quiet. Very good breakfast. Staff were very helpful.
The hotel had a power cut lasting several hours and this did cause problems as we couldn’t use our rooms . I did think some sort of compensation could have been offered in the circumstances, such as a free breakfast .

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The room and hotel is very clean and comfortable, and I liked the seating areas they have available outside. We did have to change rooms in the middle of the night due to the air conditioning not working. It was very hot and muggy in the room, and while we tried to muster through, it was very uncomfortable. We called the desk and he checked on us and asked us if we wanted to move without a charge. The next room was much cooler and comfortable. They are definitely service oriented!

A beautiful hotel, upon entering it was immediately the grandeur with which they advertise.
The staff were all beyond helpful and friendly, a special mention to the lady at breakfast who was wonderful.
The room we had was spacious, the air con worked very well without overpowering. It was clean and all the amenities we could have wanted were there.
They can arrange trips for you if you so wish and they are more than happy to give advice on things to do. Very helpful staff at reception who were also up for good conversation.
Highly recommended!

I stayed at the grand boutique hotel for four nights with my daughter. It is a lovely hotel with really very lovely staff. This was our first time to Romania. breakfast was good and the bed was excellent, as was the room.
I would not hesitate to stay here again. I will be visiting Romania again.
Classy hotel!

So nice to stay in a place with character and the staff were lovely. So helpful.
Short walk to Old Town. Reading some other reviews, people seem to think the area is sketchy- but we didn't. We felt perfectly safe even walking back at midnight.

We stayed there twice during our trip. The building is quite gorgeous, even if a little spooky. The rooms are amazing. It makes you feel that you are living in a palace. For the most part, the staff were very friendly and tried to help. In one room, the air conditioner had problems, which made it uncomfortable for my wife. Another thing is that one has to be careful about parking. There is a lot next to the hotel that costs money. This is where Waze sends you to. The police are eager to give out tickets there so don’t even leave your car there temporarily during the day. There is no need to pay since there is plenty of free parking in the street in front of the hotel. Getting in at night is a little funky with a gate, but just follow the directions. The location is very quiet and central but not in a tourist area itself. It clearly was once a well-off neighborhood. I wish they would restore every building there like they did with the hotel.

Stylish hotel on a side street in Bucharest. The staff as friendly and helpful and the furnishings were very appealing. A lot of classic authentic furniture. I had a massive oak desk in my room that made me want to plot world domination from there.
All that and a courtyard kitty!

Very convenient location, at an easy walk yet away from the hustle and bustle of the old center, with coffee and money exchange stores nearby. The street is very calm, the building is beautiful and charmingly decorated in classical style, with antique furniture yet well kept, just as in the pictures. The personnel is helpful, friendly and efficient. They provide amenities (robe and slippers) and nice hygiene produts. Their reception is 24hx7, which is great if you arrive late. I would definitely stay there again.

Very vintage looking property but to beautiful standard. Large bedrooms, large bathroom. We was very lucky to get a balcony. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable of the area, with plenty a helpful advise on where to visit and eat etc.

Being tired of American style corporate hotels this made a refreshing change with its style and architecture. It had an extensive shaded outside terrace. The immediate area lacked amenities but it was well located, only about 15 mins walk to the Old Town for example
