Modern minimalist and innovative design features. Very comfortable space.

I've no idea how this place is, because there's construction right in front of the building: the whole street is blocked off. I wasn't able to park anywhere, and I had a baby with me so I had to abandon the booking (there is no reception desk, no one to call, and it was 10pm), so I had to abandon my booking and stay elsewhere.

-Ton of construction in front of the hotel that obstructed the main entrance.
-No breakfast
-Sauna is not great to justified the price of the hotel. It fits like 1-2 people at a time.
-Coffee is available via dispenser but there was a locked code on it so can only use during morning hours
-Given the busy, high-traffic area, it's a little unease to not have front desk or any staffs onsite.
+Great if you're here as a couple or with families but not so great for solo travelers
+Great if you're staying for a week but prices need to be cheaper. Was not worth $200 USD a night given lack of service
+Room features was nice

Our room was beautiful, the shower was hot, the bed was comfortable, and the night was quiet. We loved all the plants and furniture. The staff we met were all super friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Great find in an area close to the Metro and bars and restaurants. There is no on-site reception, but someone was there in the morning to assist and we were able to call an off-site person if we needed anything. I would stay here again.

Honestly, one of the most unique hotels! Full offering in the room and the sauna and hammam were great add ons.

Great room in a transitioning neighborhood. Hybrid between a hotel and an Airbnb - amazing room with a great modern design, including a kitchen and laundry but no housekeeping services were provided for our 4 night stay.

I traveled to Montreal to celebrate my 30th birthday and choose to stay first time ever in Boxotel due to the Image of wellness, spa oriented concept. I came there to prioritize my health, relaxation and peace of mind throughout my stay, and all of that completely got ruined by the owner of the Boxotel .
At the time of checking out hour before 11am,I left my suitcase in the room for the staff to take it to the luggage room as instructed, and the rest of my time until catching my train,I decided to stay in hotel rooftop as discussed earlier with the owner . I had few little bags with me on the couch at the roof top that was completely empty the entire time, and when I returned from bathroom I was shocked to see was looking in my bag. When she saw me coming she started nervously asking me where is the cups from the room I stayed, I told her they are in the dishwasher, and then she asked me where is little bath salt jar, I said that I have used it on my arrival.(which was complementary, i asked before using)
When I was ready to leave for my train, I called to collect my luggage and she called me a liar because she didn’t find an empty jar of bath salt in a trash (shocking that she went through my trash) then she accused me of stealing that one time use little salt jar, and wants to charge me for it, I was in the rush to catch my train and she was not giving up my luggage until I told her to charge me for whatever she wants.

Minimalist hotel all based on internet and email communication
Do not park across from the hotel apparently not safe, look for a safer parking.

Had an amazing stay. Staff were friendly and informative. Room was spacious and had anything and everything we could ever need. Everything being eco friendly was a bonus. Coffee and breakfast were delicious. Near lots of great restaurants and music venues. Can’t wait to come back

Boxotel is the most convenient accommodation for us when arriving from CH and leaving with the bus to the Laurentians the following morning. It was our 2nd stay, and I will sleep there again on future trips.
Beyond the convenient location, the rooms are clean, functional and comfortable and it's reasonably quiet in the area (for a downtown location).
That being said: last time we slept there there was personnel present when we arrived, which facilitated check-in a lot. This time we arrived to sweet nothing and no one, and getting the code to get inside was quite stressful using a foreign mobile phone to do the check-in. I had to call to get help, and it took quite some time, all this while standing outside. If it had been night/winter, and if I hadn't had a mobile subscription with unlimited roaming, I wouldn't have appreciated this at all (actually, without roaming, I'm not sure one can check in at all while standing outside: I didn't check if the wifi was powerful enough). It's possible we arrived outside the period when the reception is manned, I don't know.
I sincerely hope that unmanned hotels will address this topic in the near future, as it wasn't the only time we encountered that situation during our trip.
Nevertheless, I'm very satisfied with my stay and will stay there next time.

The service was not good. We had to bring our own towels downstairs to the staff just to get need ones. The staff was not really present at the hotel. We check out no one was available to hold our luggage so that we could explore Montreal more which forced us to head to the airport early because we did want to carry our luggage around. Carlos was very pleasant but he was the only one.

we loved the whole concept of this chilled eco friendly hotel.

Location: couple blocks away from the Berri station, St Laurent station, and Saint Catherine Street.
Room: Suite which is king size bed, a mini living room area, fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, dishwasher, super nice bathroom and even a yoga mat for relaxation. Smart controlled the whole room.
Next to the road, so all weekend I heard all the construction and the loud noises from the corridor and from the street till 3am.
Check-in: need to have a code to access the building. There was staff inside watching me struggle to get in instead of helping me with the process. She was helpful with the location of the elevator though.
Saturday - experienced power outage around 12:40am. Called twice the number of the website and nobody responded. Left a message on the website and Expedia and no response. Around 1.30am the power came back on and I was finally able to sleep.
Checkout - Inconsistent signs on when to checkout which made it confusing. I checked out at 11am since cause I didnt want to get charged for the late checkout fee (since there’s nobody at the lobby to ask)
I think I would stay again if they change the way the staff interacts with the customers. Leave a proper working phone number if customers have questions or problems.

It was conveniently located in between many sights. Close to the metro which was easy to navigate. Very comfortable stay with nice amenities - access to espresso machine in the mornings , hot tub on the roof (!). Very delightful and relaxing

We loved this hotel! They have Boxie, the rescue dove, and she was an amazing, adorable addition to the lobby! Coffee was really good. Very nice rooftop area, the pool and hot tub offer a great view of the city. Walking distance to plenty of things to do. The bed and pillows were really comfortable too. Chair in our room was a bit gross and stained, but everything else was clean! Also enjoyed having the balcony. TV was not working most of the stay but was not a necessity and didn’t really impact our stay. Would love to come again!

Boxotel was great place to stay during our 3 days in Montreal. Our apartment was spacious and had everything that made it feel like home. The gym, spa, sauna and Turkish steam bath were also great. The self serve breakfast was also delicious. The location is walking distance to many of the public transport options too. Highly recommended

Wonderful stay, had a lot of construction going on in the street. I will definitely stay again.

Really enjoyed the room we stayed in at the Boxotel. The industrial cool design, with top-notch products (bathroom products) and items (bedding, pillows, earthware plates, bowls and cups) in the room elevated our experience. Also enjoyed the simple but quality and healthy complimentary breakfast. Highly recommend to those visiting Montreal, who want to be near downtown with comforts of a home and a cool experience.

The hotel rooms are so innovative, they optimized all the spaces they can use to fit a microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and a dryer, cooking stove, and oven. Literally every appliances you need is inside the room which is so convenient. Their hot tub was not so warm when we went there, sauna and steam room was a nice touch. And gym was designed so unique. Staff wasn’t responsive when I was asking for my self check-in instructions, I had to contact expedia to call them for me and they sent the instructions right away. Marie-Jeanne on the other hand was very accommodating. Only issue is when I asked for a roll of toilet paper and a facial tissue, they refused to give us saying they’re “eco-friendly” hotel. We literally ran out of toilet paper, 1 1/2 roll and 1/4 of the facial tissue for 3 days stay. But overall, our experience in Boxotel was great!
