Good location, friendly reception. Room No.2 Ground Floor. Bathroom clean and adequate. Bedroom clean but requires a major refurb, the bed mattress was very poor and uncomfortable. We needed a hotel on a budget this was just about ok.

Absolutely disgusting. Cockroaches on the bed when we arrived. The bed was stained yellow and rubbish all over floor. It felt like the whole hotel was leaning to one side when we walked up the stairs and everywhere was dusty and dirty. It was so bad we checked back out as i didnt want to sleep somewhere with cockroaches on the bed. They called but refused any form of refundeven though the hotel was clearly not fit for purpose. I will be reporting to environmental health as they completely ignore any complaint.

Don't go to this hotel! It's crap. I called the hotel in advance for 2 days and said that I am very sensitive to dust and that the room must be very clean.... I enter the hotel door and the first thing I see is dust... In my head I think that no they should get an honest chance. I step into the room and it was a nightmare. DON'T GO THERE PLEASE. The room was just dust and the bed was full of bacteria. The toilet was like a crime scene

The walls are painted in Black.
No staff to ask. The door locks got jammed and cannot call anyone. Scary in terms of an emergency..

Well, where to start!!
Windows didn’t lock, it had toilet paper stuck in between the windows to keep them shut.
The shower was broken and dirty, the carpet was dirty and stained. The room had been painted black to hide the condition, everything light or socket wise had black paint.
Worst hotel I’ve stayed in during the last 20 years?

My room felt like a literal cupboard. It was in a basement. No staff on site. Tiny, cramped room. The room smelt bad, was hot, and the window didn’t open. The shower head had to be held up by hand. Awful bed, and loud outside meant I’ve barely slept in days. This hotel ruined my trip. Avoid.

DO NOT STAY HERE! My room was completely infested with bed bugs. When we made the hotel aware, they did absolutely nothing to help. No apologies, no clean room and no compensation for making me and my family sleep out in reception over night as we had only realised the infestation at around 02:00. When speaking to the person in the room across the corridor, they also had the same problem. The rooms and the hotel in general was dirty and is falling apart. If you want to sleep in a dirty, bed bug infested room, have your belongings infested, or maybe you fancy sleeping in a dirty reception, or even taking a shower in a filthy bathroom and have no refund- book yourself a room at The Amsterdam Hotel.

We did not enjoy our stay at the Amsterdam Hotel as we understood the room was small but was made even smaller by an unnecessary set of table and chairs that took up space. There was also no proper blind on the window, just a sheer curtain that didn’t even cover the length of the window meaning there was no privacy and it was very bright as soon as the sun rose as the curtain did absolutely nothing. It was very hot while we were in London, which we understand is not overly common, but with no fly screen or proper blind, there was no way to block out the flys and bugs from coming inside while also letting some air in with the window open, as there was no fan or any other way to circulate the air in the room. The room was also dirty with tissues from previous guests under the bed and other items that had clearly not been cleaned. The TV did not work for regular TV channels and the only way to use the TV was for streaming services which were not provided. We would be happy to log in using our own streaming services but unfortunately we are not from the UK, as I’m sure most guests are not, which means that we were not able to access the streaming services that we use back home. We would have been happy with just being able to watch regular UK TV to watch the news, weather and other local programs. The hotel itself did not have a lift and we were on the second floor which was okay but the staircase was very narrow and slanted, making it feel like it could collapse under your feet.

The most depressing roms i have ever seen. Both rooms also smelled strongly of mold. On the positive note.. Earls Court is a nice erea and the staff was helpfull even if we didnt see much of them.

This hotel won the Most awful hotel I've ever stayed at!
2 minute walk from the Tube, provides toiletries and items to make tea or coffee, kettle looked pretty clean. Sheets and towels were clean. The person we met at the "reception" was lovely very friendly and helpful.
The walk up to the room was through dusty and unhoovered winding staircases, got to the room and went to put the code in to get the key and the box was open, very secure!
First impressions it looks "ok" but within minutes you notice so many things - carpet has bits all over it, dusty everywhere and the paintwork is chipped in so many places.
Both windows open - one had a stopper on it so it only opens a little the other didn't have one and can completely open so fall risk.
The bed was sloping when you lay on it you could feel the slope. It wasn't the most comfortable either.
The bathroom open the door for the smell of damp and mould to hit you! Toilet is so close to the wall when you sit down your thighs rub on the wall the flush is so rubbish too. The shower thermostat was broken so water came out boiling. No plug for sink.
Painted dark grey to cover up mould and damp.
DO NOT STAY HERE IT IS DANGEROUS!!

Stay away from this hotel. It is dirty, filthy and completely worn out. the room smelled of sewer 24/7.Fire doors was forced open, although they were supposed to be closed. Another couples did not even unpack - they moved out as soon as they saw the room. If we could have found a 3 persons room in the vicinity we would have moved out asap. The picture shown at the booking site is nothing like the rooms in reality.

Bed was very uncomfortable no table or chairs in room screw hanging out from bathroom sink would not recommend

Really disappointing stay. On arrival we thought we'd come to the wrong place as there were two men sat in the lobby talking loudly on their phones, no reception to speak of. We were asked to may a payment via email link (no card machine or cash desk) before we could check in, then we were told our room wasn't ready and made to wait over an hour after check in meaning we missed our dinner reservations. The man in reception was very apologetic.
There is no lift so we had to carry our bags up several flights of dark, narrow creaky steps. The room itself is locked with a basic door lock which the key which is stashed outside the room in a key lock and you're sent a code via email on check in. The rooms are no where near as clean/tidy as pictured with chipped and scraped paint, paint all over the sockets and switches, burn marks in the floor, water marks on the divan bed base. The decor seems very DIY/unfinished and there is a general ick about the place. Cockroach in the bathroom.
The worst part is the smell emanating fromt the drains which is inescapable even with the bathroom doors closed and there was no aircon so this was uncomfortably hot and difficult to sleep (20c outside but much hotter in the room). Towels, bedding and bathroom were clean. We left as soon as we could the following morning. Location is very convenient but that's the only thing this place has going for it, in hindsight we regretted not paying more for a decent comfortable room - don't waste your money.

This is not the Ritz... but the sheets and towels were clean, bed comfrotable, and the basic amenities worked... and it wasn't Ritz PRICES!!!
The member of staff who greeted me, checked me in, explained how things worked could not have been more pleasant, helpful and thorough.
VERY convenient for Earl's Court tube station but NOT on a main road. Little traffic past the hotel.
Nice... I'll use it again. Quite convenient for Holland Park, on foot.

Unsafe, tatty, dusty, poorly maintained. Firstly 3 fire doors held open by fire extinguishers as we climbed to our 5th floor room. There is no lift. Stairways were dusty. Room poorly maintained holes in the wall where clothes rail had been erected. Glass shelves in the bathroom were about to fall off. Toiletries that were on them kept sliding off. Shower door wasnt working. Shower blocked and filled the tray. I had to get out after washing my face and call for someone to come and unblock it. Lots of silicon around the bathroom filling holes around the door frame/ shower cubicle. No toilet roll holder or towel rail/ hooks. No bedside light so had to walk across the room in the dark. Old peeling stickers on bedside table. Small mattress had springs that had broken and very uncomfortable. Chair was broken . No milk pots in the room as they had run out!!

In a rush, I mistakenly booked this thinking it was 4/5 rating, not 4/10. I was shocked to arrive to what looked more like a hostel than a hotel ...or maybe one step above crackden.
The door to my original had been kicked in, but they hadn't noticed. There's no staffed reception desk, so I had to call for help. Fortunately someone was onsite and came to help. They wanted to move me to a bigger room for one night, then move into the original room once the door was replaced, but eventually agreed to let me keep the same room for the duration of my stay. (Thank you!)
The shower was moldy. The shelves in the bathroom were sagging, barely attached, and unusable. The walls were stained from years of humidity buildup running down the walls.
The internet was intermittent at best, but only 1-2 Mbps at the most, so unusable for Zoom, streaming, etc.
While there was no A/C which isn't uncommon in London, they did at least have an oscillating fan which helped a ton.
The beds were clean thankfully ....and I thoroughly checked for bedbugs and didn't see any signs during my 5 nights, so I was very relieved by that.
In the end, if you're on a budget and not picky, this place is OK. If you can afford it though, find something better. There are too many options in London to stay here on purpose.

The location was very good and next to the train. Thr room was good but not great. The people who looked after the place were kind and very helpful. The hotel was starting a new check-in system which seemed to work for some but not all. It did not work for us but the people on the other end of the phone were extremely helpful and it worked out in the end.

Room were not as described, it was very tiny, never saw any staff person; I would not recommend the hotel to anyone or stay there again!

It is a okay place to stay on a budget. The location made it easy to get around the London.

My short stay was very unpleasant.
Water was leaking from the ceiling light, a serious health and safety issue considering water is coming out from an electrical source.
A mouse was spotted outside my room. Clearly an infestation issue had not been addressed.
Hair was found on the supposedly fresh towel in my room.
Tv screen was broken.

The room was a dirty and in bad conditions.I spent two minutes in that room because when I opened the door the first thing I saw was a mouse in the bed and another one by the entrance.I called for help to get my bags out of the room and no one came to help. I couldn’t stay after what I saw so I left. I asked for my money back and I never got refunded. They said I was going to get refunded but I was still charged. The worst experience ever

Do not stay here .. was far to hot .. window barely opened, shower did not work and there was mouse/rat poison all over the stairs. Not very clean and very much in need of painting.. we were on the top floor and the stairs were a killer with a suitcase .. never again.

the worst hotel in London
1.0 / 5.0
The property was like a broken tooth in a row of white veneers from the outside. No lift and lots of high floors with uneven stairs- do not stay if you have mobility issues. The room smelled strange, there were no drain covers in the sink or shower and the drains were disgusting. There was a big blob of what I hope was toothpaste (but probably wasn’t) on the outside of the bathroom door. Stains on the carpets, terrible paint work and patching up of lights etc. the toilet lid didn’t stay up due to the flush being behind it sticking out. The shower door was broken, this had been replaced with a curtain but the broken door was just left inside the shower! The lock looked unsafe and like it had been shoddily replaced after being smashed off the door frame. The bed and bedding seemed fairly clean which was probably the only highlight. No staff to be seen anywhere. Really would not recommend this hotel.

About the rooms one the window in the bathroom would not close and was going to fall out and the other room the tv was hanging off the wall and was dangerous
1.0 / 5.0
The location is great however, the security lock was broken on the window which I think is quite dangerous if you were to have a child with you. Also, really unhappy that it said luggage storage and we were able to drop our bags yet we couldn’t leave them there apart from in the lobby. Apart from that, it’s very budget and the rooms could do with some TLC. Not sure why everything is black?

Be in good shape if you get the 5th fl room: no lift. A charmingly creaky place, but the room was fine except for the window that wouldn't close in room 22. A lovely bathroom.
0.5 / 5.0
Overall, it's livable. But be aware, no front desk. Contact uses WhatsApp. No elevator. Each floor is very high, so carrying luggage upstairs is a nightmare. Kind of cold in the winter time, bc no heating in the room. Internet is not quite stable. Bathroom smells bad so I had to keep the door closed at all times. One good thing may be that the room is relatively big considering the price.
Livable? Yes. For poor travelers just to spend the night? Yes. Want to stay comfortably? Not really.

When firstly checked in, there was no staff and no help whatso ever, i stayed in the firt floor and payed a premium when i traveled alone. Paid for a double bedroom, in the photo the room i payed was bigger but they put me in a different one. Stayed the firt night and second, no clean service was made. Talk to help service and they said it will be done , no cleaning service for four days. In the fourth day when i came to the room at 11 pm 2 little mouses raundin on my room which was terrifing to see as there i slept fot four night . Contacted the hotel and told them about my experience and nothing was doneee just told be i would be transferred to another room and they wanted proof which i ended up filming three videos. I didn’t slept at all the fourth night. The next morning they said i could transferr myself in the fifth floor if i wanted with two baggages alone and no elevator. The last night which was the fifth mostly went trying to sleep as i cound forget the mouses and could not get confortable in that hotel anymore. Just wanted to let everyone know as i also ended up sending my clothes to the cleaners due to mouses rounding in the hotel room as they had no closet in any room, and costed me 300£ almost as much as paid the hotel.

Good hotel in general but lacked 2 essential things: bin for rubbish and a bedside table lamp.
1.0 / 5.0
To start, the property is unmanned. You enter with the building with a code. Extremely disappointed with the condition of the room (Room #15). It smelled of smoke, was stuffy, and generally dirty. The smell in the room was unbearable. The window was cracked with two holes and had a broken handle. The walls were marked up and one of the handles on the closet was broken. The photographs on Expedia misrepresent the hotel. We left the property immediately, and requested a refund. No refund was issued after my complaint was reviewed. Completely unacceptable. This place was terrible! STAY AWAY!

They obvously have a plumbing problem in room 18 as the window was open on arrival, I closed it and the ensuit stank which is why there was an airspray can on the shelf. only there two nights so left windo open and kept door to ensuit closed. No one on site so could not report it to them. I was on teh top floor wnd there is no lift to there so long walk up the stairs.

I was there for 9 nights-not what it appears to be on the internet.
The only like is the location-around the corner from Earl's Court tube
It is not staffed-all communication is with a central switchboard.
The room itself was very small, painted flat black. There was a very small shabby cupboard-also flat black. It appeared to be undergoing "remodeling". No switchplates, Door trim half installed, no bathroom mirror to shave (in cold water).
Hot water was intermittent-I took several cold showers. After several calls they returned my call to tell me the other guests had used the hot water, apparently an insufficient hot water tank. I started getting up at 5 so I could be first in line for hot water.
No TV service. The TV screen kept saying no signal. I contacted the remote office several times and was walked through how to set it up. Still no TV. Another call and I was told to put in my Netflix information. I told them I wanted to watch local news and weather and was advised that regular TV is not available, only the subscription services that I subscribe to.
No room service. In 9 days no change of sheets, I requested clean towels at mid stay, no replacement of soap, shampoo, tea, etc. The trash was overflowing when I left even though they had been in to replace towels.
I had an opportunity to stay with a cousin my last 3 nights and tried to cancel. They already had my money and would not do that.
Overall, I paid a lot of money for a fleabag hotel.
Not pleased!
