Nice neighborhood & well connected.

I had a 2-night trip to Santiago. The main negative point was that the shower eas cold for both nights. I called the reception and they said that would restart the gas heating, but it didn't work. Bed was comfortable and clean but towels were old.
Location: good, there are restaurants in a walking distance. Costanera mall is 2km away.
Breakfast: I did not have time to try - they start serving at 7:30 am, and for the day-trips I had to leave early (around 6/ 6:30).

The hotel was really outdated. We had booked 2 night stay but we checked out after 1 night because the rooms were very small, bathroom extremely small, very old rooms, couldnt find AC remote, no hot water kettle or microwave. Breakfast was very basic- the croissants and baked items were dry and cold.

We booked a last minute stay at Hotel Presidente Santiago as our standby flight was fully booked. It was in a convenient location and at a good price, so we booked through Hotels.com. The booking page stated that they provide a free airport shuttle service, which was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. However, when we spoke to the hotel they said that they didn't provide this service and we had to pay for a taxi ourselves! They also said that they didn't have our booking on record because they don't have the Hotels.com handle and had to keep my credit card details until after the Bank Holiday weekend until they could confirm. Staff were short with us at times but otherwise friendly and helpful.

Not a bad place to stay for the last night of my holiday. The room was a little cramped for the price but overall I had reasonable stay.

Room was too small, bathroom entrance too tight and no air conditioning , they need to clean the mildew on the walls and ceiling in the bathroom.

I booked a room with Expedia and when I arrived, around 11:30 pm, I rang the bell to enter the place and the deskman said I didn't have a reservation and hang the phone without opening the door. I rang a second time (I had payed already!) and he opened not before waiting at least 20 seconds. Once we entered we were greeted with a horrible attitude, coming from someone who had heard nothing from us besides "hello, we have a reservation for tonight". I explained him that I had booked and paid through Expedia and that I had the confirmation mail on my phone, I could show it to him. He said he didn't want to see my mail.. he wanted me to send it to his mail. I did so (twice to make sure) and after a couple of minutes without feedback from him I asked him if he had got the mail and said "I don't know". Well, after a short conversation (where he even said that it wasn't right that we'd payed in USD considering we were Chileans. But Expedia never gave us an alternative!!) he said in a im-doing-you-a-favor tone, "go ahead and I'll fix this". After that I can only say that the place was clean but extremely noisy. And not from outside, but from the people working there the next morning.
I would recommend this hotel only in times of war.. besides that, try anything else.. awful experience.

Our stay in this hotel was most pleasant. The front staff were very helpful, and all we encountered were functional in English, and eager to help with my marginal Spanish. Across the street is a large park which serves as a walking conduit to restaurants and shopping. The rooms are small European style, but clean and quiet. The breakfast was good. A good base for exploring Santiago

Please book another hotel. Not recommended. Rooms are really bad and not according to description. This should be rated as one star hotel.

Very friendly personal. Excellent breakfast. Maintenance not so god, the bathtub was blocked and the carpets are in horrible condition. Overall experience very good. The location is great. Very good price thru Hotels.com.

the majority of staff at this hotel simply don't care about your needs. When I asked the young black-haired waitress a question on a dish, she answered "read the menu". One day the Internet was gone. I really needed it for business. I called the guy at the front desk. He said that they were taking care of it. They did not. After 6 hours, I had to call their supervisor and that's when the technician came in. The Internet service was on and off until the next day. This really ruined my stay in Chile because I had to send a package and I could not walk long distances. They They spread pesticide as a common procedure each time a guest leaves the hotel for good. So you are breathing pesticide all the time. Be aware of opening the closet or breathing when you talk on the phone, cause the pesticide's smell is so strong it can give you a headache. They don't have mosquiteros so mosquitos enter your room in the middle of the summer. Pro's: good and safe location. The cleaning ladies are nice and efficient, specially the Peruvian girl.

The best feature were the staff. They were very helpful and a couple spoke english.
The housemaid did a very good job and sometimes left chocolates.
The location is good with in walking distance to the Bella vista restaurant area andCerro San Cristobal.
The lobby internet was free to use.
The breakfast (incl in price) was very good with hot food included.
The coffee machine in the lobby was always cold.
In fairness this hotel would suit someone looking for a lower priced hotel.
The decor is old but it is clean.

It is a very good hotel in a safe area and close to metro. Staff is very nice and helpful. Internet is available at all times. Breakfast is included and is healthy.

This hotel could be great. It is convenient for downtown Santiago and the neighbourhood is attractive and felt safe. However it is quite shabby and needs a makeover.

Great location. Couple block walk to shops, restaurants. Staff very friendly and helpful. Helped book transport to airport. Simple but good breakfast included. Only complaint, shower occasionally out of hot water.

I was greeted pleasantly, given a map of the city and shown how to get to the Bellavista barrio. Next day they explained to me how to use the metro and catch a bus to Valparaiso. They washed my laundry and allowed me to store my pack after I checked out until 7:30 PM. They called a taxi for me to go to the airport. It was 2000 pesos less expensive than the taxi I took from the airport to the hotel. They met all my needs and were pleasant. I was very satisfied. Oh, and it is located two blocks from the metro. I would use them again.

Staff were very friendly and location was convenient for subway (3 mins). restaurants were approx. 15 min walk. Hotel restaurant was adequate with nice courtyard for eating outdoors.
5.0 / 10.0
Quite decent for the money - 3 or 4 blocks from a restaurant area. Subway stop 2 blocks. About 10 blocks from central plaza and historic area. We had never been to Santiago before and only had a day, so this was a good location from which to explore. Desk staff spoke enough English and were quite helpful.

We had requested that a van meet us at the airport. That didn't happen.
The hotel rooms are very small and outdated. The bathroom fixtures need to be replaced. The bottom of the hair dryer caught my hair (twice) and my husband had to cut me free.
NOW, after saying all of that, the hotel had some nice amenities.
The staff were friendly. The restaurant is pleasant with a really lovely, private patio. The breakfasts were decent and the price of the food and the room were a good price. The hotel was in a good location, close to embassies, etc. You can walk to various locations. Felt safe

This was a nice hotel for the price. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was very good. It's also convenient to the subway and attractions.

Quiet location one block off main road. Easy walk to cafe's, etc; 20-30 min walk to funicular and old town. Would stay there again. Good breakfast.

Very good hotel. My only complain is the room a little small, but it was ok for our stay.
6.0 / 10.0
The temperature was very high in Santiago (33 deg Celsius). The room was without air conditioning, so the temperature was very high in the room during the night. I suggest to install a air conditioning equipment in all the rooms. People in the reception very friendly.
10.0 / 10.0
Room was a little small but quite adequate. This was more than compensated for by the friendly and helpful staff and the convenient location. The outdoor section of the restaurant had its own small, almost tropical, garden with birdbath and this provided a most welcome and peaceful setting after the busy pace of this charming and modern city.

Excellent hotel for the price. The concierge was extremely helpful with booking taxis, and providing good overall information (but you had better speak spanish, english, not so much), plus other intangibles, like adaptors for computer etc etc. Great breakfast, tons of options. The area is fantastic, as you are close enough to the touristy parts of town without actually being in them, it is a university part of town, crowded with mant decent affordable restaurants. If you prefer to avoid tourist traps, then this is a great hotel for you.

Hotel personnel were exceptional!! Very eager to help. Little to no English is spoken so some Spanish is necessary. The hotel absolutely sparkles--very clean, everything works--restaurant is immaculate. The hotel is a block from the Metro with easy, cheap access to any place in the city. This is a hotel frequented by Chilean and European travelers and I always think that says a lot!!
4.0 / 10.0
Smallish basic hotel in a good location away from the city centre. Staff reasonably helpful plus a satisfactory breakfast. By Santiago standards good value.
8.0 / 10.0
Nice and well kept hotel. Nice room furniture, though my room was microscopically small - just enough room to walk around the perimeter of the bed, so it is not much of a room to hang around. Free internet at the business center. Hotel is about a block from the subway station making it easy to get around. Neighborhood is nice, though nothing exciting or unique. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of foods (not merely a roll and juice like other places). Though the restaurant staff did not speak english

location: good, close to Metro, walking distance to center or Immaculata Conception hotel employees: extremely helpful and gentle, hotel room was small, but clean and well maintained, breakfast: good service, fast and all I need. We extended one night because Valparaiso area was overbooked due to the song festival, the price was lower than for the 2 nights booked thru expedia!!

The hotel is in good shape. It's a small place, which is nice. The neighbourhood is pleasant. The hotel is just opposite the British Council. The staff were friendly and helpful and understand English. The lobby is nice. Things like furniture, lifts, bathroom equipment, carpets, are a bit dated, but in good enough shape. My biggest and main complaint about the place is the lack of space. I've never been in a smaller room in my entire life. Not even in Tokyo. You can literaly not walk around your own bed. When you use the toilet, you have to sit sideways, as the wall in front is so close you can't fit. Same with the shower space. Breakfast is normal, so nice. The hotel is also conveniently close to the metro system.
