Hotel staff were friendly and on hand. Room was lovely and comfortable. Only issue I had was hot water for shower .

AWFUL...nowhere to park initially as there was a function going on...the receptionist very kindly moved her car for us. Room was cold when we arrived as the radiators were turned off completely, restaurant closed due to a function, VERY shabby decor, shower barely a trickle, no hairdryer. Function carried on well into the early hours with shouting and slamming of doors until at least 2/3am. Veggie breakfast was passable.
More worrying were the "fire" doors with huge gaps between the door and the frame! And lack of security at the front door.
Staff lovely but clearly stretched.
Would NOT recommend (unfortuanately we are already booked for next weekend...not looking forwad to that!)

TERRIBLE...Went to check in but told we were allocated a twin room when we booked a double. Room was cold (heating not on), velux window wouldn't close properly, shower barely a trickle, very shabby decor, disappointing porridge, no hair dryer. More worrying were the "fire" doors with massive gaps between the door and the frame. No security so anyone could wander in.
Same member of staff as last Saturday, who we couldn't fault and the room allocation wasn't her doing.
And to top it all off the price was 50% more than last weekend because of the football!!
Would NOT recommend.

Conveniently placed, and was quiet around hotel. The room was clean, but the bathroom lacked hooks or somewhere to put toiletries, and was in need of an update. The breakfast was good, full Scottish/ Vegetarian. Overall it was good for the price.

A beautiful old Victorian hotel with tons of charm. Makes you feel like you're staying in a hotel from a hundred years ago, rather than the ultra-processed chains of today. Breakfast was a full Scottish breakfast (with a vegetarian option), which was lovely, and the hotel has a full restaurant and bar. The grounds are a bit unkempt, and the hotel itself is a little out of the way, but otherwise it's a quaint, charming place with an incredible amount of character. I kept expecting to turn the corner and see the ghosts of travelers gone by!

The room was small and the window did not open so the room was a bit stuffy. We had trouble with the shower and the availability of hot water. The scottish breakfast was delicious and the staff very hospitable. The hotel was conveniently located to downtown Motherwell so we were able to walk to the restaurants, pubs and church.

Very handy place to stay when we were heading to TRNSMT festival. Right near the train station. Easy check in and check out. Friendly and helpful staff (not always on reception, but made it clear where you could find someone later on if you needed to). Room had what we needed. Decor could do with a tidy up in places in the room/bathroom but was clean. Only issue really was the shower, as that didn't always work and was poor pressure when it did. Breakfast was easy and included in price. Would stay again if we needed to be in the area.

Lovely breakfast and room was quite clean. The hotel is very tired and the beds very soft. Shower cubicle had no shelf to rest anything. No toiletries provided apart from tiny bar of soap.

It’s not good. It needs some serious investment. I know it was cheap and I guess you get what you pay for but.. room was very tight for space, there’s no room for bedside tables, mattress - you can literally feel the springs. Bathroom - there’s nowhere to put anything, shower tray is scummy, we were in room 102 - breakfast was included it was fair except the sausages were the cheapest nastiest I have even tasted. It’s really run down.

Bathroom needs some attention not suitable in current state

Lovely hotel, great facilities!
Only issue we had was the temperature of the room. They couldn’t turn the heating off and it made the room incredibly hot and uncomfortable to sleep in during the hot weather we had

We booked half board but found out on arrival that it's now only B&B so had to get refunded for the non dinners. The breakfasts were very good though and couldn't fault those. We obviously had to go out for dinner each evening. This hotel really needs a lot of refurbishments. Can't fault the staff as their doing as best they can. Staff were pleasant and lovely to speak to. I would only stay there again if they did the refurbishment it so badly needs.

Nice friendly hotel. Excellent value. Close to the motorway

We needed a room for the night and this hotel had the perfect location. The train station was less than 5 minute walk. That is the only benefit, the hotel was old, cracks in doors, you can hear every movement from the upstairs room, and mold in shower. I wanted to get a drink but bar always seemed closed. Overall great location but terrible facilities.

The room showed signs that someone had tried to fix a few problems but wasn’t quite up to it. A little silicone here and there would work well.
The 2 single beds were too soft and it felt as though one was sinking into them and would never reappear.
Everyone was friendly enough, but the man at the front desk had a very thick accent which made it difficult for us to understand what he was saying. He would go outside and have a cigarette just outside the front entrance, but did not use his time to remove the bits of rubbish which had been left by guests in the car park. I found a small piece of glass, an inch square, on the driveway.
No hooks for anything, and after the instructions to us was to hang our towels up if we wanted to use them again the next day, and no towel rails.
Seating in our room was below par.
Breakfast was included, but it took a while before all was ready for us to enjoy.
The tv should be installed on the wall and then the desk can be used as a desk and provided with an office chair.

Excellent value, decor a little tired but it was a nice and clean hotel, our room was big with really comfy beds.
All staff were attentive and helpful.
Note: there are a lot of steps and stairs and no lift, so not suitable for those with limited mobility.
Will stay again

We just used the place to sleep basically, we are out around 8 am and back late at night.

My daughter and I stayed at the Bentley for 6 nights while exploring Scotland. The convenience of a 5 munute walk to town and the train station made the trip manageable. The hotel was cozy, clean, historic, and relaxing. A full breakfast was served daily to begin our daily adventures and the staff was like family. I would stay here again. Thanks to the staff for welcoming us.

Good overnight stay, hotel slightly dated but fit for our purpose, good breakfast. Very reasonably priced

Poor service - only saw one member of staff who checked us in and then served us breakfast the next morning, wearing the same dirty clothes.
Quilt was stained...
Bathroom was badly designed...
Couldn't open the only velux window because it looked like it would fall to bits if we did...
When we checked out, that same member of staff said, "See you later"; but they won't.
Honestly, we considered cutting our losses and trying to find an alternative place to stay the night...

The location is very good. It's located very close to Motherwell Rail Station. (10 mins walk approx). The hotel offers room service and has a pub/ bar and restaurant inside. The staff that works in the hotel did allow me to bring food from nearby shops into the room I stayed at. Excellent service in many areas.

We booked half board but there was no evening meal.

The bedroom was lovely, comfy bed. We were given a fan as the room was hot on arrival.
The bathroom really needs attention although it was clean.
The young girl serving the breakfast was lovely and nothing was a problem for her.
Was nice to be able to have our laundry done.
There was a noisy exhaust fan from the restaurant outside our bedroom window.

The room was an odd layout with the beds (twin room) then a room next to this with two chairs and the bathroom and wardrobe, however, the windows in the side room did not have blinds/curtains so it was very bright since we were travelling in May so was struggling to sleep later (we arrived late due to travelling). The beds were hard and uncomfortable, so struggled to get to sleep.
The bathroom had bugs in the bath, so made me feel uncomfortable to shower in there, generally the look of the bathroom was quite run down.
We didn't get the breakfast that was included since it was over before 9am (again arriving late)

Brilliant location for everything.

Hotel was very clean and nice other than the water pressure and shower head was broken. The surrounding area was kind of sketchy and the locals did not take well to Americans. Other than that staff was great and hotel was fine for a quick stay.
4.0
Bed side lamp was not connected.
No hanging facilities in the bathroom.
It is easy to knock your head in the bathroom for a tall person.
1.5
Staff friendly, nice freshly cooked breakfast, room comfortable, plenty hot water and heating. Handy spot near station. Not a luxury hotel for a holiday but perfect for a stop over, bathrooms could do with updating but everything worked. Recommend the cantonese restaurant Mandarin 2mins walk away for food.

Nice people, Great breakfast! But the TV didn’t work and the shower was aweful. Basically a dribble come out. Worst shower I’ve ever had.

I paid extra for half board and was told there’s no half board and breakfast was really nice.
Bathroom has mould around the ceiling and bed wasn’t comfy to sleep in, I’ve got refunded for half board option. Won’t be back to hotel

Not realyy suitable for people with mobility issues, Breakfast excellent

You get what you pay for at the hotei.
They have it seems though done some work to the bedrooms as bed seemed more comfortable.
A few tweaks to the bathroom would help things but functional.
Only issues was hot water ran out for the shower and unfortunately due to heavy rain had to use bins to catch the leaks.
5.0
I had a very large room on the top floor. There were 2 small sofas in the room which added to the comfort. The shower cubicle was compact but functional. Breakfast was ample with orange juice , cereal, porridge, toast and a cooked breakfast with tea or coffee on offer. I would definitely recommend The Bentley and will stay here again next time I’m in the area.
