Dales escape in January

Breakfast was fabulous and we ate in the bar the night we arrived which was also great. Very welcoming to both of us and our dog. The room was the smallest of the 3 and was very hot despite turning the radiator down, but overall we enjoyed our second stay as much as our first.

Top notch !

Very friendly, efficient staff. Lovely room and great location for a visit to the area. Restaurant meal was very tasty but the star of the stay was the fabulous breakfast !

Engelse weekendje

Super aardige eigenaren en staan klaar om wat voor je te doen. Zit boven een gezellige pub, hoor je op de kamer wel iets, maar we hebben goed geslapen. Ontbijt was prima, goede douche en het is op een klein stukje lopen van het centrum.

A very comfortable room in an excellent setting.

We enjoyed the setting of the Inn, the location and the area. We liked the type of building and its quaintness. We would recommend the Inn to our friends and family.

The sink in our room was not funtioning properly. Nothing else to mention.

Slightly difficult to find - it's in Church Street, Giggleswick rather than in Settle proper - but worth the effort. Bedrooms / Bathrooms newly done; and comfortable. Good breakfast!

Friendly and helpful hosts, very quiet at night, plenty of parking, lovely food (breakfast and dinner), comfy beds, basically everything was perfect. The decor all looked pretty much brand new.

Great stay in the heart of Giggleswick

Great stay at a pub at the heart of the local community. Wonderful location and room fittings, topped off by a top tier fried breakfast to prepare you for a walk in the Dales.

Friendly family run pub who made me feel very welcome. Room very nice, bed was comfortable and lovely en suite bathroom. Good selection of drinks and excellent food which were all good value for money. Would highly recommend staying here if your in the area.

The stay was excellent and I can highly recommend the Black Horse Inn for a quiet relaxing getaway.

The Inn has been recently refurbished to a very good standard; the room was spotless and the food was excellent. The room was warm even on a very cold night and the staff were very welcomiong and friendly. It is also located in a beautiful spot.

Access to the car park is very tight between two buildings and not good for anyone with a large car. I ended up parking on the street a short walk away.

Hidden gem. Stayed here on business for 1 night and can honestly say i will 100% stay again. The facilities are great. Best sleep in ages. Shower was awesome The main meal was lovely and breakfast one of the best I've had. Great stay and will be booking again soon.

Great local hideaway perfect for a Dales break

Lovely two-night stay with dogs.

Lovely historic old building recently refurbished to a very high standard. Great location, next to the parish church in the very pretty village of Giggleswick. If you're into photography the village will keep you busy for hours. A whole network of footpaths in all directions from the inn, ideal for dog walking. About a 15 minute walk into Settle centre. The inn itself is very dog friendly, we had our two with us and they were made very welcome by Marley, the resident dog and several other visitors in the bar. (If you don't like dogs then beware, you are likely to encounter several here). All staff very friendly and welcoming. Clearly a thriving local pub, we stayed for two nights and ate in the bar each night - two excellent meals. Breakfasts also very good, made fresh to order from the previous night. Room very comfortable and obviously newly furnished. Altogether a great vibe and a thoroughly enjoyable weekend.

Whilst there's an ample parking area at the back, the access to it is quite 'tight', which can't be helped due to the configuration of the old buildings. Getting in for the first time is a bit awkward but ok after that - be assured, a car will fit! A very minor point in the scheme of things, but a shelf in the bathroom would have been handy for toiletries etc.
