What’s nearby:
This home is a quick drive from multiple access points to the Oregon Dunes and ocean
beaches including the popular access just out South Jetty Road, and the city of Florence is five miles north. The charming Old Town section of the city
is filled with lovely shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants.
You will also be minutes from numerous trailheads for hiking or mountain biking. The
coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean.
Some trails wind up, over, and through sand dunes, offering hikers the opportunity to
experience the unique natural wonders of this area. Bring your camera!
Paddle Siltcoos River between Siltcoos Lake and the Pacific Ocean. This slow-moving,
three-mile river is so ideal for paddlers that it’s a designated Canoe Trail.
Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are
offered daily.
Get your adrenalin flowing on a nearby dune buggy tour or with an ATV rental, or go crabbing from the Siuslaw Bay public fishing pier at the end of South Jetty road
where crabbing is excellent from late spring until the fresh water from winter rains force
the crabs out to the ocean.
Siltcoos Lake:
The largest lake on the central Oregon coast is also one of the region’s best fishing lakes, especially for warm water fish including largemouth bass.
It also is one of the few lakes in Oregon where you can keep a wild coho salmon in season.
Siltcoos Lake is a sprawling 3,164 acres located between Florence and Reedsport in the wonderful dune country of the central coastline.
Siltcoos is one of the most celebrated largemouth bass fisheries in Oregon and is among those mentioned in our article, Best Largemouth Bass Fishing in Western Oregon.
You’ll find tons of good bass cover all over the lake here, including fallen trees, drop-offs, points, islands and numerous coves and several longer creek arms. There also are some docks, especially where there are a fair number of private homes along the banks on the west and north sides of the lake, many clustered around the communities of Dunes City and North Beach.
Bass will often move up into the shallower water during the spring, when they spawn just off shore, and they can be aggressive then. They will stage a bit more off shore at other times.
Crappie also like to hang out around structure and may be found in shallower water during the spring. Sunken trees and pilings are good places to start.
Also, the lake is known to have good populations of less-pursued species including yellow perch, sunfish and bullhead catfish.
Trout are not the primary quarry for anglers here, but the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife does stock a modest number of rainbow trout here. Look for those plantings to take place in late winter or early spring (March and April are good times to check the stocking schedule linked below).
Native cutthroat trout also live in the lake and its tributary streams and may be kept as part of your daily trout limit.
The coho salmon fishery here opens in October and runs through December. Fishing for these fish is usually not productive until significant rainfall draws in these large fish, which most often happens in November.
There are a modest number of coho caught and kept here, but it’s a fairly unique opportunity. Boaters catch most of the adult coho, often by trolling wobbling lures in the creek channels the salmon use to return to their home streams.

Family weekend getaway with my husband, teenage son, my elderly mother, stepfather and our small French bulldog.
The house is located on a steep hill, it’s secluded, quiet with a view of lake. The lake is not walking distance unless you enjoy walking a distance down hill and then back up. We enjoyed our stay. Accurate listings description. It is on well water, so it has the not so pleasant smell and taste. The two car garage was nice to park our cars in, although could have utilized the space for indoor activities like a foosball table or pool table, air hockey, ping-pong table. The house felt stuffy and has a weird smell to it, ceiling fans in all rooms would have been nice to help circulate the air. The house seemed to just be surface cleaned and the floors could have used mopping. Overall stay was fine for the weekend. We were able to enjoy a day at Honeyman State Park and Sandland Adventures for some outdoor activities.

Excellent property and home. View was impressive from almost all rooms and perfect size for our family. Great location set back and up from all the in town busyness and short drive to the dunes .

We wanted to be close to downtown Florence for weekend events but far enough to have some quiet family time.
The view from inside and the deck was amazing in the mornings and evenings.
Would stay here in the future when we visit the Florence area.

We rented the house for our wedding week with family. Everyone had a great time. The house was clean and cute with everything we needed, minus groceries. Good times.

We communicated that we would be arriving late and it was so welcoming to have all the lights on to help us check in easily. This beautiful home was just as listed. We had five lovely sunsets on the deck while enjoying our appetizers and wine. It was a perfect place to sleep with no noise and complete darkness. Loved it!

A geat property with a stunning view! Our only complaint is that there were some basics like a pepper shaker and foil/plastic wrap missing from the kitchen. A suggestion we'd like to offer is to specify that the lock box for the key is by the door closest to the driveway since there is another one by the back door. A quick chat with the owner and the problem was resolved. Thanks for responding so quickly! The checkout process was the easiest and fastest of any Air B&B/VRBO that I've ever stayed in. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for three women to have showers. We did discover that the outlet in the master bathroom didn't work, even after pushing the reset button. A minor issue. I'd stay there again!

Secluded, quiet and beautiful view of Lake Woahink. Great kitchen and rooms, perfect for the 6 of us. Enjoyed the wildlife. The lovely young deer family liked apples. We would highly recommend.

The home is an updated high end double wide with a garage and great decks. Great job with the updates, good finish work. Very comfortable home with a new smart TV with full array of apps and support.
The view is fantastic. There is a group of domesticated deer that often visited. Diverse nearby bird populations as well.
Kitchen worked great. New dishwasher. Range and cooktop went great with finely stocked kitchen. Thanks for the filtered water dispenser in the fridge! We turned the ice dispenser on in the freezer. Thank you also for the box fan, it was perfect. Great beds, bathroom, and linen.
The only negatives we could find was a bit of an odor on the couch - like a baby had a few blowouts. We think the neighbors must have a septic issue - there a bit of a funk in the air, mostly on the south/southwest corner outside. We did find a gang of sugar ants just near the main door. None of these a big deal and totally easy to work around/fix/ignore.
Suggestions are to leave some cards/board games and/or add a ping pong table in huge garage. I know it’s listed for sale though.
Would stay again. The lake is not walking distance away, unless you like intensely steep hikes.

Location and property great! I wanted to extend stay, but did not hear from manager for more than 24 hours. I had left three messages, but had to give up and arrange another venue.

College couples (3) got together and had a great time. House was clean and furnished very comfortably. What a great view of the lake, would definitely return.

Easy to find, away from the crowds, beautiful view with everything we expected and needed. Close enough to town and activities not to mention the occasional deer in the yard which added to the overall ability to relax.
8.0 / 10.0
It’s a great little house for family. Location is great. Very private, little too far from the town for those who want to be close to town. View of the lake from the deck is awesome. Deck has a picnic table, it would have been nice to couple of lounge chairs to relax with a glass of wine. Living room has a couch and a chair, definitely not enough room for 8 people to sit and relax. Beds were very comfortable. Floors were dirty. We had two four year olds that liked walking bear feet in the house. Their feet turned black after 15 minutes of walking on the floor. House has no AC or a fan. It would be nice to have at least one ceiling fan to circulate air. Tv didn’t have signal, wifi was choppy didn’t get cable. Over all we enjoyed our trip. It is a great house for the price but there can be few improvers.

My family and I had a wonderful & very memorable stay at this property. It truly felt like home during our, roughly, two week stay.
We had quite a few special encounters with wildlife here including a bear that our 30 lbs dog chased up a tree and numerous bats flying around at dusk. The view truly lives up to its name of Sunset Point. Absolutely stunning! The neighborhood was safe & quiet and the neighbors all seemed very kind.
House was beautifully laid out and whomever does the setup before each stay deserves kudos; blankets folded into the shape of hearts on each bed, coasters laid out artfully on the table etc. It was incredibly clean with very comfortable mattresses and my dad absolutely loved getting to use the garage as he doesn't have one where we live.
We did have a problem with the garbage not being picked up during our stay and the internet not working our last week. However, Jim and his team continually worked to rectify those issues and were very kind and helpful so I'm still happy to give this place 5 stars (it deserves it) and confident in recommending this property to others.
Thank you for a memorable stay!

Great stay here. Came with my scuba diving class for a course in Woahink Lake. Dive site was 9 minutes away from the home. Great views and plenty of beds. The kitchen was also nicely stocked with clean dishes and cleaning supplies. Great stay!
