Siltcoos Lake:
The largest lake on the central Oregon coast is also one of the region’s best fishing lakes, especially for warm water fish including largemouth bass.
and is one of the few lakes in Oregon where you can keep a wild coho salmon in season.
Siltcoos Lake is a sprawling 3,164 acres located between Florence and Reedsport in the wonderful dune country of the central coastline.
Siltcoos is one of the most celebrated largemouth bass fisheries in Oregon.
You’ll find tons of good bass cover all over the lake, including fallen trees, drop-offs.
Crappie also hang out around structure and found in shallower water during the spring.
Siltcoos is known to have good populations of less-pursued species including yellow perch, sunfish and bullhead catfish.
Trout are not the primary quarry for anglers here, but the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife does stock a modest number of rainbow trout here. Look for those plantings to take place in late winter or early spring (March and April are good times to check the stocking schedule linked below).
Native cutthroat trout also live in the lake and its tributary streams and may be kept as part of your daily trout limit.
The coho salmon fishery here opens in October and runs through December. Fishing for these fish is usually not productive until significant rainfall draws in these large fish, which most often happens in November.
There are a modest number of coho caught and kept here, but it’s a fairly unique opportunity. Boaters catch most of the adult coho, often by trolling wobbling lures in the creek channels the salmon use to return to their home streams.
What’s nearby:
This home is a quick drive from multiple access points to the Oregon Dunes and ocean beaches including the popular access just off South Jetty Road and the city of Florence is five miles north. The charming Old Town section of the city
is filled with lovely shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants. You will also be minutes from numerous trailheads for hiking or mountain biking. The coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean. Some trails wind up over and through sand dunes offering hikers the opportunity to experience the unique natural wonders of this area. Bring your camera! Paddle Siltcoos River between Siltcoos Lake and the Pacific Ocean. This slow-moving
three-mile river is so ideal for paddlers that it’s a designated Canoe Trail. Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are offered daily. Get your adrenalin flowing on a nearby dune buggy tour or with an ATV rental or go crabbing from the Siuslaw Bay public fishing.

large house, great layout, super location

Beautiful house on the lake. Great for a group gathering with plenty of room and high quality finishes. We rented a pontoon boat and cruised the lake. Played cornhole, sat outside and visited with friends, barbecued and had a great time. We are already planning our next trip. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars on everything is the check in process was not smooth. We received lockbox code 45 minutes after 4:00 check-in so we sat outside while trying to get ahold of someone.

Beautiful home with plenty of space for all 12 of us. A couple of housekeeping items were not finished (laundry) when we arrived and the propane for the bbq ran out as we were cooking dinner the first night. All fixable though. I will say that the fridge freezer drawer and the bottom drawer in the range are both broken but usable. Hopefully these get repaired before getting any worse and detracting from how nice this property is.

We stayed here with our family of 10 for 3 nights and it was fabulous! The house and property is gorgeous, well cleaned and stocked. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. So much yard for badminton, corn hole or other outside activities and the fire pit was so nice to have. Relaxed in the lake and truly enjoyed ourselves at the home with plenty of privacy space.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful house! It had plenty of space to comfortably accommodate our entire family. The location next to the calm lake was perfect, and we loved spending time on the nice dock. It was a truly peaceful and enjoyable experience. We highly recommend this place and would love to come back again!

This was a family celebration for my 60th birthday. Everything about this property was perfect! The views, the firepit, the dock, the interior space and all the furnishings. So much space & everything we needed besides a pack-n-play for our infant grandson- but no big deal as we brought one. I highly recommend this place for a great gathering! It is a private, peaceful setting where we saw, deer, a bald eagle and bunnies hopping around the yard :)

This is a great place for a gathering of friends. 7 women friends gather once a year from all over the state. We've been friends for years and moved to different parts of the state. This place allowed us to have different beds and enough bathrooms for 7 women. We will be back.

We had a great time at the lake house. All the kids and grandkids had a great time too.

This is a great house, the location on the lake is perfect for a group getaway. The house has some Maintenace issues, Rooms and Beds are good. missing some TV remotes, some broken blinds and appliances, but nothing to major.

Everyone had room to spread out and we all enjoyed gathering in the main area to enjoy the view. Can’t wait to come back in the summer months.

We had a fantastic time at this VRBO property! The house is absolutely stunning, situated in a private setting right on the lake. With two spacious living rooms, a well-equipped kitchen area, and a cozy private room with its own bath above the garage, the accommodation felt both luxurious and comfortable.
Parking was plentiful, which was perfect for us as we brought along our boat and quad trailer. The property offers plenty of entertainment options, including great games and a smart TV. Access to the main level was easy, and we appreciated the quick and efficient grocery delivery from Instacart.
Just a friendly tip for future guests: consider bringing your favorite non-stick pan if you're particular about your cookware. Our experience was fantastic, and we highly recommend this VRBO property for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

WOW this property exceeded our expectations completely. First of all, how brilliant it is that all four of the main house bedrooms have a view of the lake (and what a view!) While we were there in January so the weather was typically rainy, we still loved just sitting in the living room (or the back deck during breaks in the weather) to gaze out at it. Just lovely.
The place is pretty much totally private, well appointed, like new and so so clean. Comfy beds and nice big bathrooms too.
We literally have no complaints and will be back next year for our small business retreat!

Our family had a wonderful time at the house.

We have had a wonderful time to visit with our extended family. Our family enjoyed the foosball table, watching ducks on the pond and playing games. The home is beautiful with lots of space and well stocked. We found only one pot holder in the main kitchen, the house could use a few more.
The queen bed down stairs (with the twin bed nook) could be replaced, it is very broke down and sags significantly. During our visit we found quite a bit of ladybug type bugs in the living room.
Overall our trip was delightful.

Our family and weiner dogs came for an early Christmas get together and stayed at this beautiful home on a wonderful property for 4 days.
Such a quiet relaxing area with lots of wildlife to view while sitting outside sipping coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening.
The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were so comfortable it made it hard to want to go home.
We had such an amazing stay we all voted to make it an annual event.

This house was wonderful for our large group! The property was clean and well stocked. Each floor has it's own kitchen and living room which was great! We've already talked about returning! The floor plan is nice and open, which was nice for the little ones. We moved the coffee table off to the corner to make a great big carpeted play area. It stormed almost the entire time were there, but it was so fun to watch. The large windows on the top entry floor are perfect for storm watching. The dad's and kids went down to the dock and cast a few fishing poles for fun.
Highly recommend this house!

My family of 6 adults, a 17 year old, and 2 toddlers spent Thanksgiving week at this awesome house. It was great! The house fit our family perfectly. The lake was beautiful, the fire pit at night was so relaxing, and the town was so cute with lots of shops and restaurants.
We all hope to stay here again.

the house is very nice, cozy peaceful and beautiful lake view. One suggestion is to let people know you are stocked with family games :)

Our executive staff stayed here 2 nights for a strategic planning retreat. It was so nice to have lots of space to spread out and relax between our work. The view and access to the lake was incredible. Can't wait to visit again.

We loved our stay at this lake house, including my kids. They loved fishing and my oldest caught his first fish by himself, we were so proud of him. The home is beautiful on the inside and out. The only thing I didnt like was pet hair on the carpet. We have a little one thats starting to crawl, so he had hair all over him. But other than that, we had the best time. We will for sure be back again. Thank you for opening your home to us.

Stunning property with stunning views! What more can I say, 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 3 kitchens! This will be my property of choice ANYTIME I am in the Florence area.

Beautiful house, best of both worlds having the ocean and the lake right there. The house was a perfect set up for a family gathering.
5.0
Plenty of room for we 7 who were spending a few days together for the first time in years. We appreciated the spaciousness and comfort of the common spaces, and were really impressed with the thoroughly-appointed kitchen. (We found everything we needed except a pizza cutter. 😁). Sleeping accommodations were really great.
Some small corrections needed: We had to hunt through the website for information on the check-in process, and didn’t get the info until we asked for it 2 days before. Upon arrival, we waited 45 minutes for the cleaning to be finished.
The wi-fi was only successful when we used the info on the router, not what we had been told previously. (I found that tip from an earlier review - and was glad to have it!). The freezer drawer on the upstairs refrigerator was VERY difficult to open. And last note: it would be helpful to have organized sheet sets for the sofa-beds. We had to hunt for bedding.
Otherwise, we enjoyed everything about the home!

Awesome trip!

Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed this property and it's location right on the lake. It was very peaceful and serene. The most comfortable beds and beautiful house. Fun with upstairs and downstairs outdoor living spaces plus a fire pit. Extra room above garage was an added bonus for one of our daughters. WiFi was not good at all until we used the code on back of the router rather than the one we were given and DISH didn't work until the last day when we had the very nice repair guy there for a couple hours. Was actually nice not being connected for the few days and didn't miss TV at all. Would highly recommend and will certainly be back.

Check in and out was easy, as was communication with management.
We’ve had family gatherings here before, and in that time the maintenance has regressed. Patio umbrella broken - looks to have been broken long ago. The secondary residence above the garage had a broken bed lamp and some electrical outlets were dead as was the microwave. Lawn furniture next to the fire pit needs to go in the next fire. 2 were outright unsafe with broken components and exposed screws that could easily rip deeply into one’s flesh. One dishwasher rack was also damaged and unusable, we took pictures and reported this. These aren’t big ticket items, so it was disappointing to find they’d been left in disrepair. Enjoyed the location and amenities though, and the people I contacted about previous damages did answer the phone - so that’s a plus.

This was the perfect place for our 5 siblings and spouses!

It was perfect for us. The house was well designed. The lake was beautiful and nearly private. The manager was very communicative. It was a wonderful place to vacation.

The moment we walked in the house we knew it was going to be amazing! There was nice music playing and the fireplaces were turned on and then you see the beautiful lake view…it was like a dream! There were 7 of us there to celebrate two milestone birthdays. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and lots of space indoors and out to hang out and relax. The beds were so comfortable, high-quality bedding, lots of towels, toiletries, laundry pods, and a well-stocked kitchen. We had everything we needed! So peaceful and serene, we didn’t want to leave…will definitely go again!

This is our second time here at this house, the location is perfect. The view is amazing and the house is beautiful. Check in and check out process is probably the most simplest I’ve ever found on Vrbo I would highly recommend.

Beautiful property that fit all of us perfectly. Fishing was great and wasn’t very far from town to get dinner or groceries when need.

The home is beautiful. The lake and sunsets are AMAZING! The property is peaceful and serene. Thank you very much!

The location was perfect, situated next to a lake that made for stunning views. The property itself was beautiful, with a spacious backyard where my wife could practice her archery skills. With 8 people and 2 dogs in our group, the home provided ample space for all of us to spread out comfortably. The large dining room was also a highlight, allowing us to gather and enjoy meals together. Overall, I highly recommend this vacation home for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

Our family came to Florence to attend a family memorial and needed accommodations that would be comfortable for each family member during the stay.
The house is as described and made perfect accommodations for each individual who had their own space and bathroom.
The 3 master suites and 5 bathrooms meant no one was lacking space in accommodations.
Only complaint If there was location was pretty remote and therefore all of us had cellular issues staying in touch back home. Unfortunately the wifi wasn't the greatest throughout the house and wouldn't recommend listing If someone had to work remote here.
Overall it was a great house that allowed our family to come together during the tough visit.

Great spot for the whole family! Would definitely stay here again.

Our family meet for an after Christmas get together. House was great, plenty of room for the 12 of us, and we did some fishing. Smart TV’s where great for steaming Christmas movie. Would most definitely stay again!
