About this house rental
Welcome to your own private Acadia National Park! Enjoy staying in our stunning, magazine featured, post and beam farmhouse located on a 200+ year old farm. You'll have 34 acres just to yourself to explore. Wake up to the sunrise over the fields, have a lunchtime picnic down by the wildlife pond, and spend the afternoon hiking several miles of our private trail system. Cocktail hour can be spent down by the ocean, located just across the street and finish the day with moon and stars gazing.
You enter into the Great Room, an open floor plan with cathedral ceilings with windows on every side. The gourmet kitchen, originally built by a local chef has two dishwashers, a 6 burner gas stove, a seperate power burner for wok cooking or lobster steaming, two ovens, 2 sinks and what feels like miles of counter space.
The Morning Living Room is bright and sunny overlooking the farm, while the Evening Living Room is cozy and warm with a stone fireplace. With a large dining room table and seating at the kitchen counter bar, there is room for everyone! The ground floor is completed with the washer/dryer and a master suite with private deck and bathroom with steam room.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a balcony with TV and extra queen bed. The finished basement is where the party's at with a "movie theater" with surround sound and half bathroom, and a 5th sleeping space with a futon.
There is nearly unlimited parking but we do ask people to keep their vehicles on the gravel driveway and parking pad. Driving off road on the fields is strictly prohibited.
We have been managing property rentals since the year 2000 and have had the pleasure of serving over 1000 tenants since that time. Reviews and recommendations of our properties and customer service can be seen at other vacation home rental sites and our website and we would be more than happy to direct you to their location.
We are physically located nearby to Crooked Tree Farm in case you need us, but we respect the privacy of our guests.
We are local hosts with 20 years of experience and 100's of reviews. Trust your vacation to us at Mountain Sea Properties.
Located in the heart of Mount Desert Island, "Crooked Tree" is no more than 15 min from all the attractions Acadia National Park has to offer including the secluded hidden treasures on the “quiet side” of Acadia National Park. From Bar Harbor and the breathtaking Park Loop Rd to Bass Harbor and its famous lighthouse, you’ll spend more time exploring the wonders of this lovely island and less time getting there.
A quiet and peaceful ocean inlet is across the street and accessible on public land. One of the best places to watch the sunset (don't tell anyone!) and to buy lobsters right off the boat, is just a mile down the road.
This property is only available for a limited time and will likely not be offered as a rental in the future. This is a one time opportunity to stay at this special property.
First and foremost we are dedicated to helping families spend quality time with each other and want your vacation at Crooked Tree Farm to be memorable. What a beautiful property to call home during our visit to MDI. It was about 20 minutes to every key destination. The local lobster house was delicious! We enjoyed the ferry to Cranberry Is and the hike to Bunker Cove, our visits to Thunder Hole, Cadillac Mtn and Schoodik Pt. The propery is perfect for star gazing! We saw the Milky Way and many shooting stars. The kitchen is wonderful as well as the grounds! We look forward to our trip back!

This home was perfect for our family of 7 as home base for our adventures at Acadia national park. It was spacious and a very quiet area of the island, but also convenient to get to bar harbor and other spots. We were greeted by visiting deer each morning as we ate breakfast and looked out the windows on the beautiful property.
Jen was great at checking in with us and communicating before checkin and checkout and the process was easy even though we didn’t arrive until 10 pm because of many stops on our drive up from Boston.
I would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property and could not have asked for it to be better! The house was stunning, property was well maintained, and the starry nights were breathtaking! The kitchen was amazing for a lot of home cooked meals and the proximity to the park was perfect. Would 100% come again!

The home and the setting were both spectacular. We had ample space for our multigenerational family getaway and we’re all very comfortable. The kitchen area was a huge plus; enabling us to have big family meals together. The grounds were beautiful and we loved seeing the deer graze in the fields.
