About this cottage rental
House Rules (must meet these to book): Sleeps 14 (max 6 adults), Saturday - Saturday only during the summer (last week of June - start of Sept), Lead guest must be 30+ years old. One small dog of the non-shedding breeds permitted. No cats or shedding breed dogs please due to family allergies, no parties allowed. A supplemental information form must be completed.
There are many things to love about cottaging on the Bruce Peninsula, one of which is the easy commute from the GTA, but another great perk is driving on smaller country roads with great views. After leaving Hwy 6 in Wiarton, you'll find it challenging to keep your eyes on the road because of the spectacular scenery as Grey Road 1 follows closely to the shoreline. The final stretch from Big Bay is along a private road, with tantalizing views of the water shimmering in the distance.
Upon arrival at this Bruce Peninsula cottage rental you are in for a treat as it features a décor of white-washed walls with a nautical theme, giving it a true lake house feel. The main living room has been recently renovated and provides a spacious area for the whole group, with modern appliances and amenities. The cottage has two distinct wings, perfect for groups that would like some privacy, with each wing comprised of 3 bedrooms and a 4-piece bathroom while still allowing for plenty of space to gather in the living room.
The spacious new great room spans the entire lake side of the cottage, with a fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher) at one end, a large dining table (seating 8), and a comfortable seating area with a log-effect propane stove and a smart TV at the other. You don't even need to walk as far as the kitchen to get your snacks and drinks while watching TV, with another full-sized fridge and a drink preparation counter right beside the living room! You'll find plenty of indoor entertainment for rainy days and evenings. There are board games, a retro GameCube console, and arcade games, as well as a smart TV for streaming (with your own accounts.)
Stepping outside, you'll find a deck across the lakeside of the cottage, with a table for outdoor dining, and an expanse of flat, grassy lawn, perfect for playing games on. Badminton and volleyball are included, as well as a sand box and toys for the children. There is a small laneway between the cottage and the beach, but it's just for local cottagers, with no public traffic to worry about.
Check out the virtual tour here: The best thing about having a cottage with northern exposure is you can enjoy both sunrises and sunsets from the beach, and the sunsets are spectacular on Georgian Bay! Because of the stony nature of the beach, common to the Bruce Peninsula shore of Georgian Bay (this is, after all, the Stone Skipping Capital of Canada!), you will need water shoes, and a selection of those is thoughtfully supplied for those of you who may not already have them. Two kayaks are also provided, and a buoy that may be used to anchor any inflatables you bring with you, so you don't need to worry about drifting away. Set yourself up with a nighttime campfire for s'mores and marshmallows, around the firepit, and you have the perfect way to end your day!

Waterfront
There is a stone/pebble beach, and shallow entry to the water. Because of the stony surface, water shoes are strongly recommended here, and 6 pairs of assorted adult and youth sizes are thoughtfully provided for those guests who don't have their own. Bring along your favourite inflatables and secure them with the fixed buoy so you won't drift too far, or take the kayaks out for a spin! There is a private laneway between the cottage and the beach, although it is private and there is typically minimal activity on the laneway.
