We enjoyed our stay at Henry's very much. The room was clean, well kept and convenient to the central part of Oxford. There are only 4 rooms, and no desk or staff on site, but we called the number with questions and a real person answered and was very helpful. This stay was close to the train station and very centrally located for touring Oxford or finding good pubs.

Great location but horrible service!

Check-in is an ordeal. There is no front desk and it can be difficult reaching someone by phone. Entrance is via a code, which is the same code for all the rooms - a cause for security concerns. The overhead fan did not work. We couldn’t get on the wifi either, but just trying to get into the room had been such a hassle we opted to not bother trying to reach out again.
The space itself is fine and like the pictures. Lots of light. Had everything we wanted. Nice central location, but beware it can be noisy near pub and club closing times (3am).

Host did not show, took 5 calls from us to gain access. Chair was stained and torn, window blind was broken. Kitchen scouer left for washing up was very used and old, disgusting. Overhead fan did not work, aircon not opperating, pedistal fan wonky. Ioning board proped beside the table but had feet missing so did not stand. Corrosion on kitchen tap. No luggage rack. Very, very disappointing.

First let me say that this property is in a great location and although small was clean and comfortable. The reason for the lower review is to try to get the owner to sort out their communication with tjheir guests and their check-in process. We booked this stay on expedia and sent them several messages via the Expedia platform and by email before our stay to check if we could leave our suitcases at the property as we would be arriving too early for checkin. No one had rhe courtesy to answer our messages. The booking information we received from expedia said we would receive our checkin instructions the day before our arrival. This did not happen. On the day of our arrival we rang the emergency number that was shown on the door of the property as we had still not reveived any checkin instructions. The number goes through to a different hotel. Unfortunately we had to try this number repeatedly as each time we got a recorded message to say no one was currently available. We eventually managed to get through to someone who said rhe checkin instructions would be sent through to us at 3pm the checkin time. At 3.30 we had still not received any checkin instructions. We went through the whole process again of trying to get hold of someone. We eventually got through to the receptionist at the other hotel who did his best to help us and we eventually got in 1 hour later. Totally stressful and frustrating and completely avoidable. We hope no other guests suffer this

Near city center, very easy to access. Oxford is the beautiful town, definitely worth to stay at least two nights to explore the surrounding countryside.

Very central, on a beautiful street. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed. Huge room (room 2)

Were it not for photos, i wouldnt have thought previous reviews were fir the same property. When we arrived, neither tge door code nor the key worked. We thought maybe it was because it was not quite 3pm, so we left our luggage in front of our doir and came back later, to the same problem. I called the provided number and was told someone would come over. When no one did, I called again. They gave us a new code to get in, but turns out the key we were given was for a different room, which we were instructed to leave outside the door. It was picked up the following day.
It's an old building, so the floors were understandably creaky. We did our best not to disturb the guests below. The bed was just a box spring with a pad on it, so uncomfortable, but for two nights we made the best of it.
The shower was strong and the bathroom bright. Amenities included a mini-fridge and some utensils, allowing for a simple breakfast.

Location was very good. Access was secure. Mini fridge was helpful.Bath towels were nice size. Lighting was fine.
Coffee maker leaked when turned on, hot water pot old and deteriorated, needs replacing. bath sink drains a bit slow.
Room temp couldn't be regulated. Shower water temp too hot, could not be lowered and no one to call to service or discuss situation.

As advised there is no reception at this hotel however I didn’t receive an email to advise key location or door code. This was very inconvenient but made better because of the help from the neighbouring bicycle repair shop people and Bart from the “Handle Bar” restaurant next door. A big shout out of thanks to those folks for their help. Everything else about the Hotel is good, great location, comfortable, cosy and quaint. If stairs are a problem this is not the hotel for you. Wifi is weak.

Henry’s was a great place to stay right near the center of Oxford. You have to have a code to get in the door. My one problem was that I didn’t get an email with the code prior to my visit, which made it hard to get in. I was able to call them and got the code and from them on, it was perfect. The room had a small kitchenette (nowhere to heat food, but a small fridge and sink) and some basic supplies. There was a bedroom and sitting room and bathroom so it felt easy to be ‘at home’ there. It’s right in town, so there was noise until about 2 am some nights. I did not mind that. If you’re looking for a comfortable, convenient, in-town place, this is a great one.

Beautiful house in the old town, historic place - but with modern comfort (new Bathroom, cozy bed ...). They did a great job restoring it! We had a tiny kitchen with fridge, tea/coffee, a sitting room and there even was a fan.
We didn't get the welcome email, but we just gave them a call and everything was handled perfectly. If you have problems with stairs, you should know there are two sets, the last quite narrow, because it's an old house. We would love to stay here again - highly recommend!

A great stay near all the shops and tourist areas.

Perfect location. Quiet, quirky clean and comfortable. Would stay again.

We loved our stay here - very nicely furnished and lots of extras to make the stay both comfortable and seamless - hairdryer, iron/ironing board, fridge, wine glasses, bottle opener, coffee maker, table and chairs - really well thought about.
If it can be improved in nay way it would be to have just slightly longer shower screen so that you don't soak the bathroom floor so much!
In all, a lovely stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Great central location, no parking mind but we used the "just park" app and parked on somebody's driveway for £36 for two nights, just a seven-minute walk away.

A comfortable stay, it was lovely having a table and having a few plates and things as well as a fridge. It has been well thought out and was easy to access and it felt secure. Some noise from the upstairs apartment but they weren’t too noisy

My room was spacious and well-equipped, and the hotel is in a terrific location - quiet and convenient for everything. My stay couldn't have been better. I will definitely base myself here again next time I'm in Oxford.

We did not interact face-to-face with owner or staff, but enough info. was given in an email for us to get in and settled. We called the phone number with questions, and spoke to someone who was courteous and helpful. We were able to leave our luggage on site before check-in time and again on check-out day. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Central location, convenient to all the places in Oxford we wanted to get to.

Rupert was a courteous and responsive host. He ensured that our room was as cool and comfortable as possible during our heatwave stay. He resolved a couple of issues promptly and to our satisfaction. The location was superb and we had a very enjoyable stay.

We met Rupert the owner at the property and he was very friendly and helpful. We had two rooms for two nights because we were attending our daughters graduation. The location was excellent right in the centre of town and made our visit extra special. Thank you’

Excellent location, 6min (flat) walk from station, tucked away on a quiet, central road. Local amenities minutes away. Room itself, compact but everything needed available. Plenty to do around the city... Mon - Fri break just right.

Clean and very conveniently located the unit met my needs and expectations.

Great location and on a relatively quiet street but only a minute away from the main streets. A couple of issues with the room, not very well stocked with glasses/crockery or cutlery. Also the sealant around the shower tray was unsightly and needs a good cleaning or replacing.

A smart design interior with all the amenities. Ideal for fit and trendy young people.

Great communication. Sorted us out with very good value parking for our stay. Excellent location and value.

Loved the styling of the room and the location was perfect for us, right in the middle of Oxford, close to everything touristy. The o ly downside was that reasonably priced parking was some distance away but we were happy to walk.
The ceiling fan wasn't working very well but when we reported it we were promptly provided with a powerful fan as an alternative given that the temperature was soring at 32°.

The room is lovely. Small kitchen in corner had all the bits we needed... plenty of coffee... bed is extremely comfy... location is perfect

Fantastic location and good size room.
Mattress very hard and not that comfy. No heating in room which was needed at night when cold

Great location, excellent rooms, contact with hosts was seamless. Will def stay again.

The room was nice and easy to use. However at 8am on saturday morning there appeared to be a team of roofers on the property above my room ripping off roof slates and hammering.
The setup is good unless you have an issue then you are directed to another hotel which is unable to help you until Monday and with no way of reaching management.
2.5
Lovely mini-suite of 3 interconnected rooms/spaces, super central, clean and safe. Cute entrance through the bike shop. Great to have good tea/coffee supplies (including milk in the fridge). Only minor gripe is that bed is rather firm - not the super comfy night’s sleep I was hoping for. But convenience and cleanliness and character of the place really make the difference.
